Hi there
It's been two days that I want to unlock my Poco f3 bootloader with mi tool but i can't, i've been very frustrated, i am worried if i'm stuck with official rom! could you please help me, I've searched google and the forums and tried a lot of workarounds but nothing works.
So first issue is that i do not receive the sms verefication when i log in to MI tool.
Then I tried the QR code method, i scanned it, openned the URL and allowed sign in. MI tool says local verefication is done, and wants me to relogin, I click on the login button and the tool starts loading but won't load anything!
After that, i tried loging in with facebook, it showed me an error and i clicked on not now, and it showed me a login page, i tried loging in and it logged in successfully!
however, once i connect my phone in fastboot mode to my computer, the tool shows "checking phone status" then says "unknown error 1004, try again later)
Is the mi tool service down or i'm doing something wrong. I tried with two accounts so far.
I've had a similar problem if the if you can't sign in while you're in fast Boot and you have the mi tool open use another phone to try to get the verification that's what I had to do and then you can sign in with the mi tool , I just used Google voice so there was no need for another phone but that's what I did

Sorry I got confused a bit, do you mean that i have to go to fast boot on my phone and it needs to be connected to the pc, and then try to sign in with mi tool?
because the way i do it, i have the phone on, i try to sign in first, so i can scan the QR code or get the SMS code.
maybe it is a problem with the drivers, try to download the ones from that guide and connect the phone in normal mode (allow usb debug when the message appears) and also connect it in fastboot mode so that it recognizes the drivers

so first i open mi unlock tool on pc and then click i agree, and then on the button that shows the qr code.
then i go to my phone, settings, mi account, scan qr code, and i scan the code on the screen, and click sign in when it prompts me to. then this screen appears: https://www.dropbox.com/s/1zthjiod03fotwd/Screenshot 2022-05-12 20.33.30.png?dl=0
then i click on the text that says login and this shows up: https://www.dropbox.com/s/5kyepva0zdc6m34/Screenshot 2022-05-12 20.33.47.png?dl=0
and just stays there forever

tried with this version too, still no luck. in fact when i use this version it wants me to update to another latest version.
IS the message "relogin to your account" normal? does it happen for all QR logins?

maybe the problem is the account on the phone, try to delete the account and add it again.
On the phone and in the app you must log in with the same method (hopefully with the phone number)

I signed out from mi account in the phone, rebooted, then signed back in. though interestingly enough, it did not ask me for my password but signed in without it. i had to turn on find my device and that one asked for the password though.
But again it didn't work for me same things keep happening
Hi there. A couple of days ago I was dealing with the same issues you're dealing with now. Here is some input which might help you and others who are currently stuck at the loading screen:
First, notice that there's a log file created by Mi Unlock on your computer which, at any rate, may help you mitigatating any issues. The file is located at:
C:\Users\YourUserName\AppData\Roaming\Xiaomi\miflash_unlock\Log\miflash_unlock.log
The error 1004 is, as far as I know, related to the unlockAPI being unreachable. Specifically, the QR login method results in an 401 error and for this reason, the loading page gets stuck.
Ditch the QR login method and instead log in with your password (the default method). If the SMS verification screen appears, wait for 60 seconds (there should be a timer indicating that) and click on RESEND. In my case, it was the second attempt that worked and the SMS transmitted successfully.
Now, as everybody else, I assumed this login method wouldn't work, as previously there were reCAPTCHA issues. That's probably why everyone recommended the QR method. In any event, as of today, this method should work again and might get you logged in successfully, without receiving the 1004 error.
I'm afraid there is the possibility that you'll need to wait for another 168 hours as you logged out of your account on the POCO F3. If that's the case, try next week the same aforementioned method again. If that doesn't work, try the QR method.
Good luck!
EDIT: Clarifications and formatting.
I also face the same problem earlier this month! I think I try a different version and the older version is working for me with the QR code solution. Good luck!
I have a similar problem. I tried different versions of the unlock tool (5.5.224.24, 6.5.224.28, 6.5.406.31) and I get the same error (Local verification has been completed please re-login your account) when checking the authentication with a barcode. Clicking on Login button doesn't do anything.
However, I can log in with an email address or phone number and SMS verification works. If I try to unlock the device i get an error Couldn't unlock. Please rebind and try again.

Also the driver for the Fastboot connection is the original Xiaomi.
If it helps anyone, there is a log file of the unlock tool on https://www.miamit.si/miflash_unlock.log
i got same issue, i got error 1004. i was try every method and got 1 solution and maybe can help. first to know i only one laptop running windows 10 and already have miunlock tool and has been install all driver. first try to Disable Driver Signature (you can find how to do on google) and restart. after boot reinstall driver you have, if you have miflash you can reinstall driver from that, make sure windows ask you to have permission to install driver. and last step try to open miunlock (my miunlock is latest version) and login to your account for unlocking, recommend to login using email or facebook to avoid SMS verification. if you can login you can see your error status at miunlock homescreen,if status error is not showing now you can unlock your bootloader. i hope my method can help everybody. good luck

Thank you, this helped me quite a lot. I waited another day and the sms verefication works now.
The fact that the sms and QR method didn't work for 24 hours throw me off, now i know that the QR method is broken.

UPDATE: I was on XDA Portal! http://www.xda-developers.com/android/bypass-htc-server-problems-when-unlocking-bootloader/
Hey guys,
So basically I spent two hours checking trying to unlock my HTC One X's bootloader a few days back.
I mean seriously? Two hours to unlock my bootloader? That's utter bull. HTCdev has the worst bootloader unlock servers ever, mostly because server keeps overloading.
I found several fixes if you have this error when you open the website on Google Chrome, but these aren't really fixes that fix the server, these are temporary bypasses if you want to get your bootloader unlocked immediately.
You would want to follow this if you constantly get these errors by using Google Chrome:
1. "The connection to htcdev.com was interrupted."
2. "This webpage is not available"
3. After logging in to the website, you select "All Other Supported Models" and press Begin Unlock, no popup window comes up asking you to verify ToS and verifying that you will void warranty.
4. *without logging into HTCdev* You click Begin Unlock and you get a popup to login, after login you get an error "This webpage is not available"
To bypass most of these problems, follow these steps before proceeding:
1. Login to the website and make sure you get to the page where you can see "Welcome XXXXXXXXX Logout Account" on top of the window.
2. *OPTIONAL TO TEST* Try selecting All Other Supported Models from the dropdown box and click Begin Bootloader Unlock, if this fails and does not show a popup after 2-3 minutes, refresh and do the same except click the button two more times. If this fails, proceed onwards to step 3.
3. Make sure you have Fastboot, HTC Sync and Java installed on your computer.
4. Put your phone in Fastboot mode, do this command in the fastboot cmd to get your code: fastboot oem get_identifier_token

}
Right Click > Mark > highlight the block of text > Right click to copy to the code
5. Make sure you are logged in, then proceed to this site: http://htcdev.com/bootloader/unlock-instructions, when navigating through the pages, you get the above Chrome errors, just do one or two refreshes until you see something on your screen and not a Google Chrome error. Navigate to Step 10, http://htcdev.com/bootloader/unlock-instructions/page-3
6. Paste in the code and immediately click Submit, if you get a Google Chrome error, go back and Submit again. Repeat until you see the HTC success screen when you unlock your bootloader, telling you to check your email. If you get an error about your code, recopy your code and paste into the box.
7. Check your email, download the Unlock.bin into your Fastboot folder and open your Fastboot cmd prompt, run this command to unlock your phone: fastboot flash unlocktoken Unlock_code.bin
8. Follow on-screen instructions to unlock your bootloader.
9. Flash CWM recovery by Koush: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1594819
Use this command to flash the recovery onto your phone: fastboot flash recovery nameofrecovery.img
For example: fastboot flash recovery recovery-clockwork-touch-5.8.4.0-endeavoru.img.img
10. Smile, you unlocked your phone's bootloader
Huh~ the problems you faced simply cause by the high serverload on HTCDev. Perhaps caused by those who are waiting for Desire and Rhyme RUUs..
"HTCdev has the worst bootloader unlock servers ever." -- can't give any comments on this because there no others available.
Need to clarify HTC is the first to offer official bootloader unlock though not s-off. Currently already made it to available for all their android devices, hardworks. Who you are comparing it with? Motorola's single device unlock site?
and why you need java for bootloader unlocking process.
the unlocked process is already done on step 8 actually.

Please read the title. Obviously it is high server load or just crappy server upload speeds. I have waited weeks and weeks for it to load fast, if you try to go on HTCdev again right now, it is extremely slow and would constantly hang.
Think about it logically, HTC is such a big company, and plus we shouldn't have extremely high network ping since the HQ is just an hour flight away from where I live. It's not hardwork if people want to unlock their bootloaders and they purposely lock it down, they're just pissing people off, intentionally wanting to record down who voided their warranty. Look at all the Samsung users, their phones come with a pre-unlocked bootloader and they're doing much better than HTC.
They are in fact the first to do this kind of unlock, no other company is doing it the same way, which means it is the worst way to do it.
If you can be bothered, please take a look at HTCdev's twitter page. There are loads of people complaining about their bootloader unlock page, and HTCdev claiming that they fixed it, but its an ongoing problem and I have never ever had such a hassle when trying to root your phone.
Anyways this is a technique I would follow if you have the problems stated above, just wanting to help people, not start flames.
Actually i was on the site regulary basis recents day for Desire S's RUU..
But bid samsung shipped with pre-unlocked bootloader? No, please dont includes nexus flagship devices and the funny verizon GS3 dev edition that wanting people to paid more..
And I have no intents to pouring flames on this..
We're on the International variant of the HTC One X forum here, and the major population here are from everywhere around the world, not just US.
Samsung releases pre-unlocked versions of their International devices, I never said anything about US carrier released ones.
Nexus flagship devices are controlled by Google, if Google says lock the bootloader, they listen, but if its a Samsung Galaxy S series device, Google can't force them to lock the Galaxy line's bootloader.
oh thank god!!! finally! =) Thank you thank you thank you!!! =) I'd been wrestling with their servers off and on for about FOUR hours lol. This totally worked
Hi,
A better approach will be this way:
1. with your "My Device Identifier Token" ready (have it in a notepad)
2. use google chrome and launch 5 tabs
3. navigate all to http://www.htcdev.com/bootloader/unlock-instructions/page-3
4. login to each of the 5 tabs
5.scroll all the way down to the part to input your token for all 5 tabs
6. copy your token from the notepad stated earlier.
7. paste and submit into all 5 tabs by using the short cut Ctrl+Tab
8. At least one will be submitted and you will received an email even though all the page shows you login error.

You've just made a massive guide, basically saying just keep refreshing and you'll pass through soon enough.
Using the method you described, it could still take hours...
Thank you so much nicolaschum! Your introduction works perfect and I've just unclocked my father's HTC VT328t. It is contract model of a carrier China Mobile, with lot of useless carrier apps and worst part is all google apps and frameworks are removed.
I've been stuck in HTC legal term page for near two hours and unable to get into Unlock Instructions page (step 1 - 4) and was about to give it up. Fortunately I found this thread and with your instruction I've bypassed them and got final Token submitted successful message in only 4 tries within 5 minutes. Now I can get google apps installed on his mobile
Thanks!
Thanks for this

Yes if everyone does this then why would anyone have any errors? I have done this on more than 15 HTC One X devices, so I'm pretty sure my guide is useful for me at least. I could even say it's failproof if done correctly.
I even tried his guide you +1'd, but all my tabs did not load, however that is just a smaller condensed method of what I did, that method would still work and is identical to the process of my guide, as it still loads multiple pages anyways, but you can't say a Samsung Galaxy S II is useless compared to the Samsung Galaxy S III because the S II has outdated or a different architecture compared to the S III. Without an S II invented you won't get an S III, so without a guide like this, there would still be people running around yelling how HTC servers should be fixed and never actually getting a fix, and there would not be a compressed version of this guide.
day 3 for me..ihve had multiple tabs open, no dice
Post Updated 19/7/13 right here to save you reading the whole thread:
Bought Huawei G520 (quad core) direct from China £125
It starts up in Chinese, but with a little help from Google I managed to change it to English quite easily

}
Just look for the "A" icon and then it's the top option to change to English
(If you put an English sim in it first, it defaults to English anyway)
No Google apps!
I didn't anticipate the China vs Google being a problem, especially since "Android" is "Google"s own OS. How can you have an Google OS with no Google apps, but you can, and China have.
Anyway I spent the next 2 days solid trying different solutions, different rooting tools, flashing tools, downloading Google apps by apk (some do work but most just close down & cant login)
Locked up the phone in my desperate attempts to install virtually anything....but...
....I managed to find the Huawei G520 000 Official Stock Rom here....
..UPDATE 19/7/13) have since found newer official B192 version here - havent tried it though....
...either of which is easy to install.....unzip the folder and copy just the folder called "dload" to the root of your sd card - remove your G520 battery for about 30 seconds...refit the battery....hold both volume keys with one hand...now hold the power button too until the process starts (about 15 seconds)
Even managed to install Clockworkmod (whatever that is), dont ask me how, where, just a result of trying so much software I guess - When I saw it I figured it was rooted, but still couldn't install anything with it so I guess it was still not rooted
Anyway I discovered that the "Bootloader" is locked on this model - was directed to.....
Huawei website where you can request bootloader code (16 digit number)
....and found out the same as you, that the G520 is not listed - Dang!
Decided to ......
send an email to Huawei just on the hope they might respond
.... - I wrote down all the details as required from the official form and sent it.....Would you believe it, they only went and sent me the bootloader unlock code THE VERY NEXT DAY - in fact it was within about 8 hours - BRILLIANT!
...you need a usb driver to perform the unlock procedure and to be honest i installed loads so i cant remember which one to credit but i found this
.........official Huawei Generic USB driver...
...it should work although is does make you wonder why they dont link to it in the first place? If I remember right, if its the correct driver and you connect you mobile in USB Debugging mode (Settings > Developer settings > USB Debuggin = checked) the PC says "connected in ADB mode"....
Followed the official Huawei bootloader unlocking procedure...
...and Bobs your uncle "Your bootloader is UNLOCKED" - Yaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyy
I thought the rest was easy now - nope
Tried a million and one rooting/flashing tools, still wouldn't root (I downloaded "Root Explorer apk" to my mobile to try and access the root directory and thats how i knew it wasn't rooting - nearly gave up on the whole idea - figured it was root locked for ever
The G520-000 is Exclusively Chinese so I started searching China, which was difficult, not just because it's Chinese but you cant use Google because for the same reasons it doesn't search China - so I ended up using the G520 browser its-self to search (got millions of hits because its very popular in China) and if it looked interesting I emailed link back to my PC where Google translated the web page - loads of forums about flashing the G520-000
Anyway I found a buzz on Chinese forums .......
about this tool
....and can you believe it - It rooted it in 1 minute
It's in Chinese and installs Chinese superuser...but its easy to follow - Moderators that dont read Chinese...this is the companies own tool and its totally freeeeeeeeeee
Just remember that it prompts in Chinese and on the left is "Deny" and on the right is "Allow"
Tried Zardamans excellent suggestion here....
.....but although I installed Google apps , the current OS kept closing them down so you still couldn't login & and it generating repeated errors so i uninstalled them in the end...on reflection it could be that I was "deny"ing privileges inadvertently, until i learnt a bit of Chinese.....anyway
Read an article which suggested using "Root Explorer" to install ONLY the 5 apps below
OneTime Initializer.apk
GoogleLoginService.apk
Google Services Framework.apk
Setup Wizard.apk
Gmail.apk
directly into root\systems\apps folder
Restart you phone - login to Gmail - done!
now install any/all of the other google apps including Playstore (this is the app that crashes the system if you install it before Gmail) just by running the apk file
I have:
Google playstore (sometimes called Phonesky.apk)
G+
ContactSyncAdaptor
CalendarSyncAdaptor
Chrome
Play movies
Google music
All working fine now
Yaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!!!!!!!!!
I hope this works on G520-5000
So I skipped all the parts that didn't work for you and downloaded this chinese program.
When I click the green button nothing happens.
I am guessing I need to install the phones drivers but I don't know how.
Please help, this is my first smartphone and I don't know much.
I am very happy with the phone but the lack of google play bugs me.
Spent the last 2 days researching this problem.
All I found was this but it didn't help:
As a new user to this forum I can't post links so i sent you a pm.
Thank you
Heres an easier one
http://www.winkabarkyaw.net/2013/04/how-to-root-huawei-g520-5000.html
Just download the Huawei Driver
Once youve installed this driver on your PC - just run the rooting software - it will recognise your phone and root it
Thank you so much.
I will try it tomorrow because it won't work on my 64bit Windows 7. I will install a 32bit version.
I will post results.
Update 1 :
I installed the driver on 32bit Windows 7 successfully.
Got stuck on the bootloader code.
I've sent them an e-mail.
First I need them to explain how to get the product ID, this *#*#1357946#*#* doesn't work for me.
This is going to take longer than expected.
They replied:
Dear Customer,
Thank you for contacting Huawei device.
Sorry that there have no bootloader unlock code for this item.
Once again thank you for contacting Huawei device.
Best Regards.

I can't get the Product Id with *#*#1357946#*#*.
I sent them an email asking them how to get the Product ID but no response.

Huawei method of *#*#1357946#*#* for Product ID works fine on mine - are you sure you are typing it correctly?
Otherwise I cant imagine - all the rest of the numbers are in the settings>about menu
Yes I am sure. When I type the last asterisk it wipes the rest of the code and nothing happens.
There is also no Product ID anywhere else to be found on the phone. There is some CMI IT ID number behind the battery but it is a 10 digit number.
I'm glad it works on G520-000, on G520-5000 it does not.
Apparently I am not the only one.
Anyways they responded to my mail with this after I explained the code doesn't work:
Dear Customer,
Thank you for contacting Huawei device.
Would you please kindly input “*#*#1357946#*#*” to check the product ID.
Once again thank you for contacting Huawei device.

LOOOL
I already sent another mail.
Thanks!
Thanks for the thorough information Jethro - I managed to unlock my g520-0000
Just like you I have tried many flash tools and at the end I had to update to the B190 rom because the phone was already a mess (downloaded the one from the link you have posted), because the phone could not root with Vroot.
So, what worked for me - generally I combined some parts of a tutorial for unlocking my other phone (Huwaei y300) with parts of your long story
1. The unlock procedure
After receiving the code from Huawei I unlocked he bootloader following this unlock procedure (only the unlock procedure from the tutorial, not the whole tutorial!!! - Step 2) : huawei-y300.tumblr.com/post/47366836617/how-to-unlock-and-root-huawei-ascend-y300-all
2. After that downloaded VROOT from the link you have posted and it rooted the phone in a minute
3. Installed Root Explorer
4. Installed Google apps / Playstore ....
From another tutorial about y300 I downloaded a Google apps .zip with many google .apk files - huawei-y300.tumblr.com/install-google-apps
First: I downloaded the archive in order to extract and copy only 4 of the .apk files.
The archive has sub-folders. The 4 apk are in sub-folder gapps-jb-20121011-signed\system\app of the archive:
GoogleLoginService.apk
GoogleServicesFramework.apk
OneTimeInitializer.apk
Phonesky.apk
Second: I used Root Explorer and copied the 4 files to root\system\app
* When trying to paste the 4 files the Chinese SuperUser installed by Vroot asks you for root rights for Root explorer - press the RIGHT Chinese button which should mean sth. like YES If you press the left one you will deny rights and after that like me will have to go through the Chinese menu of SU, find Root explorer and give root permissions to it - it took me 30 minutes and was not sure what I'm actually doing
Third: Restart the phone.
After the phone restarts you can start Playstore

After several attempts installing/running Phonesky.apk (Google Playstore) 1st (as you did here) mine kept crashing with "Playstore is now closing" error, and wouldn't let me login - thats when i read a suggestion to install Gmail 1st, login to gmail, and THEN install playstore (and all other Google Apps) which worked fine for me - so I guess even the same models have their own peculiarities )

I did discover after some experimenting with Google Translator (heres my original script) and lot of pressing the wrong prompt that the Chinese Superuser right hand prompt means "Allow"
At least I now know one chinese word )
I did try and install English superuser.apk immediately after unlocking but i think it just installs this as well as the chinese version and this does pop up again when updating/installing other apps
Actually now I think about it maybe this was the reason i couldnt install playstore 1st, because maybe i was pressing "Deny"
I might just bite the bullet and try the whole process again just to carve the whole process in stone

Huawei website where you can request bootloader code (16 digit number)

Decided to ......
send an email to Huawei just on the hope they might respond
.... - I wrote down all the details as required from the official form and sent it.....Would you believe it, they only went and sent me the bootloader unlock code THE VERY NEXT DAY - in fact it was within about 8 hours - BRILLIANT!

I cannot bring up the product ID by typing *#*#1357946#*#* as said on their website.
How did you succeed in doing so ?
Would you have any other solution to bring this info up to the phone screen ?
Thanks
Update: I managed to finally unlock it, root it and install Google apps.
JethroUK said:

Jethro, thanks a lot for your walk-through. I pretty much tried all your steps but didn't succeed. Maybe you can help.
1. I went straight to Huawei's website, filled out that form and kindly asked for the unlock key. Together with S/N, IMEI # and Product ID. Three attempts, but never any answer from Huawei.
2. Downloaded VROOT and with the help of my Chinese colleagues successfully rootet the G520-00000. Or, so the software says, according the Chinese. I have a Chinese "Superuser" installed, or whatever that little tool is.
3. I've manually added Gmail and Google Play Store. Logged into Gmail first.
I can now start Play Store. However I get a "Connection timed out". First I thought it was because I was still in China. But now back in Germany with no restrictions on the internet, Google Play Store can't connect. I do allow (Chinese character on the right) Play Store in the Superuser software. But no success.
Is it not rooted?
I have ESFileExplorer installed and I get access to whole lot of "strange" folders. I can delete certain China Unicom apps.
I can install Google Chrome. But Chrome crashes immediately every single time.
Without the Play Store I don't get G+ and other Google apps running that require Googe Play Store access.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance
Andy
i bought also huawe G 520 unfortunately it had chinese apps, i managed to login to this forum and icredibly it has helped me now i have installed google apps. thankyou so much ...
Huawei G520
That is nice guide. Thank you for explane all. I bought Huawei G520 but all rom support just english and chinas. Is there any Multilanguge Rom? I need Rom with Turkish language support.
I'm starting to lose all hope in this device...
I bought my phone from, what I thought, was an official Xiaomi online store, my mistake, buyer beware, lesson learned. However. I have the phone, I like the form factor and all that, and the thought of trying to get a return from a Chinese company sounds like the kind of hassle I don't want to deal with. I'm well experienced in rooting/flashing devices (Nexus 5, OnePlus 2, OnePlus X, Xperia Z5c). I've done it a thousand times on these devices.
My new Mi5S came with "MIUI Global 8.6 | Stable 8.6.10.0(RM1100)" preinstalled.
I only found out after I bought it that the reseller installed this version. They apparently did this so they can make it a global rom. They installed Google play services, Play Store, removed chinese apps and made English the default language. That's great and all, but they also have the Locale setting locked in as China. It's unchangeable. And installing Google Launcher from the Play Store doesn't work (yet Pixel Launcher, downloaded from the web, works fine). Not a huge deal I guess.
Anyway, long story longer, I'm trying to unlock the bootloader.
I got permission, downloaded the Unlocker, VolDown+Power into Fastboot and ran the MiFlash unlocker.
It goes to 50% and then says "Couldn't verify device". That's where I'm stuck.
I've tried everything I can think of, and I just can't unlock the Bootloader.
Is anyone else having this same issue? Has anyone found a way to get TWRP on here?
Had the same issue when unlocking mine - two things worth checking: firstly, make sure the phone is signed in to the same Mi account that you have permission on (you can check it's "properly" linked by going to i.mi.com and clicking Find Device - if it shows as online, you're good). You don't need to use the Mi account at all after this, so once it's unlocked you can unlink and delete the account if you like.
Secondly, make sure the PC you're using has compatible ADB drivers on it - when it's linked by USB in FastBoot mode, make sure that it shows correctly in device manager. I had some weirdness with the previous global driver (still don't know why) and only ended up succeeding when I reinstalled straight from device manager.

I have verified that I'm using the proper account and that Mi Cloud sees my device as online.
Could you clarify which driver you ended up using?
You cannot unlock bootlader that easy. (Ive own mi5)... my english is not very good so i cannot describe all steps. Just find how to unlock mi5 bootloader. You have to request from xiaomi to let you unlock it. !!! AND I SEE NO PROBLEM HERE.

I already have permission. Still doesn't work.
I used the driver from here: http://www.xiaomi.cn/content-19-6735-1.html - direct file link is http://bigota.d.miui.com/tools/xiaomi_usb_driver.rar
So, check this out. I loaded up the Mi PC software and instead of just clicking on R.Flash, I held shift then clicked R.Flash. It popped up a file select box and I was able to choose the official chinese ROM. It then installed it! No issues or anything. Once it was finished and it booted, I did a factory reset. The initial setup screen ran and I got in to the phone. I installed the Google Play Installer from the Mi Store and that was that.
I now have 8.0.10.0.
Didn't need to unlock the bootloader or anything.

You've actually completed the first step in unlocking your bootloader - you need to make sure you are using an official ROM and not a so called "Vendor ROM".
I am still waiting patiently for my Mi5s to get here...
If "fastboot devices" shows your mi5s in fastboot mode right before unlocking - then you have the right driver and the 50% problem should be solved.

You can unlock in vendor rom..
Without unlocking you should be able to flash official rom using miflash/fastboot

when it reboot into fastboot a new driver installed on windows and i can see the android bootloader interface in device manager but still no fastboot. weird? also miflash is showing the device when the phone is in fastboot.

ok fixed the driver problem. for anyone else stumbling across this:
reboot to fastboot mode, then in device manager update the bootloader interface driver with the google driver that comes inside the C:\XiaoMi\XiaoMiFlash\Source\ThirdParty\Google\Driver folder. (you need to have miflash installed obviously)
note that windows10 you may have to disable driver signature verification for this.
:good:
I got my phone today and had the same problem but i solved it at last, i installed the chinese dev rom and then it worked to unlock the bootloader and i have installed xiaomi.eu rom and works great.
I had the same issue, for me it was indeed the fastboot driver.
The solution for me was to put phone in fastboot, connected usb.
In device manager you have to look android bootloader interface, deinstall, and let windows install driver itself.
For me that was the solution...
From what i have read everywhere, using a windows 7 machine instead off windows 10 will solve the issue for sure

No, is not normal, it has to take around 8 minutes. But the times (several) that I flashed through EDL using Miflash tool you have not to see your ID but simply COM 10 for example or the port where is detected device, probably you have to go throw back your steps to sure that this first of all be fixed, otherwise no way to flash correctly. Remember that your device has to be detected like qualcomm-HSUSB-9008download or something similar.

You did reach EDL mode apparently, in unkocked devices you can get it through commands but in locked (like yours) the unique way is using testpoint method so it´s fine with it.
NO, it´s incorrect, your device must not be detected like Qualcomm Diagnostics but this is the exact name that has to appear: "Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008", download drivers from here https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct...bit-windows/&usg=AOvVaw1aDI5aquv8QiX3bzyxrZtp, then update them locating the path and then probably you need to restart pc, and try it again.
Edit: And don´t try to use "save user data" ever do a clean flash all.

What about the picture that you uploaded, I don´t see nothing here or is edited?
and what about why I asked before about if it´s detected now?
Mostly unbrick a device is not a simple thing, you just have to refine the way that you are doing, double check how you are connecting with pc and pay attention if device is vibrating or blinking led, you have to put some effort on this and you could solve it. You tried to flash a wrong firmware on it not even with the same processor (jasmine) it´s normal that now your device is an abnormal state.

Well, I thought that short name was the name for.
About connecting, every time I connect the usb cable to the computer it vibrates and the xiaomi logo appears.

In Device Manager of PC you have to see that is detected like qualcomm-HS 9008qdloader and doesn´t have to vibrate nor appears no screen otherwise is not connecting well, you have to repeat the process: when you connect your device then just have to made a sound.
Should I install any specific rom?

Your case is the same that wich I linked before, the user has a Sakura with a fake rom for Daisy and the member flashed a chinese rom, this solved the issue and has sense cause apparently the device comes from the chinese market and is not intended like a global one. In the post that I linked you can find also a link to some chinese roms that I provided for him in the past.
Just strange is that the member needed an authorized account and you don´t?

So always made the windows whistle when a usb is inserted
The vibration and xiaomi logo, if I'm not mistaken, 100% of the time appeared when entering EDL mode.
About the account, did not ask no, I click flash and each time appears a different error, as can not read port COM10.
Should I try the chinese rom developer edition?

As I said your device doesn´t have to be detected like qualcomm 900E Diagnostics

But like qualcomm 9008qdloader

Open and check device manager before to start any attempt, you have to fix first this wrong connection otherwise you CAN´T do nothing, see some tutorial like this to install correctly the drivers https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct...=IstIV85WEmk&usg=AOvVaw2gTeL5OSfkQxi0jND9N7zw

Are you using test point method? otherwise how you think to do it? just connecting with device on or off won´t work.

If you type fastboot oem unlock what happened?
I have a bricked one too.. you need a xiaomi special account to flash with the rom. With other apps with dos log you will se is that the "error" only adms users can flash... Even the old versions ddn work. Cant see all the post now but think the "rom link" is ok. Is just the flash software the problem. Some sites sell the account to flash 1 time. Like 13 dollar idkn
Hello guys,
I received the following unbrick tool from my supplier in Shenzhen - China and wanted to share it with you since I noticed that many people are desperate to fix their RM6 and swap it to EU.
The process is super easy:
1) Download & extract the following .zip
https://mega.nz/file/ntBSxDKa#h9vUPGoWVyqtyDYWYmSgz8bE1_vNimBMAqTp9csvv-w
2) Make sure all the drivers are installed correctly (Qualcomm, EDL etc...)
3) Open the MiTool application
4) in MiTool, select the folder images
5) Put your phone in EDL mode
6) Once connected, Click flash - the brushing process will start automatically.
7) Once done, force reset and Voilà!
There's an alternative as well: MultiportQLoader
I haven't tried it myself, feel free to try it and share the steps.
Im sorry if any details aren't clear, but I'm typing this while driving xD
Good luck and would appreciate a shout-out on insta @Out.Geeked ^^
THANK YOU SIR
To ask a dumb question, but is this only the 6 or for the pro as well?
Works for both
Thank you so much, it work after someone help me erase flash

Yeah I checked the model number against the box it came in and gave it a shot, now it shows the RM logo and then reboots to the bootloader lmao this phone legit hates me
*edit*
So I think either I'm doing something wrong or this phone is actually messed up. Checked the drivers, tried 2 other cables, all my USB ports and still all it does is briefly show the white "System Rebooting" screen and then the RM logo for about 20 seconds and then reboots to fastboot/bootloader.
MiFlash shows "couldn't find flash script" but otherwise looks like it goes through the reflash process completely but QLoader always fails with an error "Unknown chunk type cac2"
Does this unbrick method require the bl to be unlocked?
anyone lost their imei after doing this? hahahha

Did you ever find a way to recover your IMEI? Turns out that I'm in the same situation as you with a lost IMEI

Does it actually work?
According to the file name, it's EU V3.10.
I thought we should apply the NA/Asia version.

[Guide] Restore Lost IMEIs / Repair Network or Radio Issues
I accidentally restored TWRP backup of another Zuk Z2 phone on my new pgone and in this process over-wrote the EFS partition. This left me with a phone having no IMEI, no mac for Wifi and Bluetooth. Effectively No Network on phone. Worried, I...
forum.xda-developers.com
this maybe work, havent test it out
Since we have the partition layout & the correct firehose, it should actually be a good practice by anyone wanting to play with their phone (BL unlock, root, dev, etc) to first dump the critical partitions.
That way, you can always restore. Example: EFS, misc, persist, etc.
Thanks for your help

Select the images folder and then hit flash.
Mine is alive again, no more problems.
I think I know why a lot of people have probably bricked their device after flash from CN to Global. If you do a local update, let the device REboot until the end. After the restart it uses the update.zip again. I think a lot of people did a factory reset immediately after the reboot (like me in Recovery) and the system can no longer find the update.zip.
Therefore, let the update run through, reboot until you are back in the system. Then you can do a factory reset.
