check the playstore, if no root so accessebility may be required

Just picked up the white 64GB edge on Friday and I'm noticing that when I connect the bluetooth to my car's head unit, it limits the volume to 60 or 70% and I have to press a popup to allow the volume to go up futher. I need to max the volume on the phone and control volume through the head unit so this is unacceptable.
Any way to disable it?
Wanam for Xposed has an option for it. Not sure if it would work yet. Would need an edit for systemui somehow.

Doesn't this require root? And root is not stable on the edge yet.

Yeah, one of the downsides of being a release date buyer.

For sure. I rooted and tried using wanam. Didnt worked. And the battery indeed draining twice + faster. I unrooted with smart switch by flashing firmware
Sent from my SM-G925T using XDA Free mobile app
Did someone find the conf where to disable this popup manually?
Wanam is not working on the S6 yet because it's dependent on Xposed framework which has not been upgraded yet
How did wanam work in background? Is there no possibility to disable manually ?
I saw HearingSaver in the app store linked in another article. Sounds like you do need to set after every reboot though. Anyone know if Tasker could be set to tweak those on boot?
Back in my old LG G4 there was a mod that when we clicked the physical keys it changed the media volume instead of the ring/call volume.
Is it possible to do that also in OP5?
thank you.

I wish they make a mod for it. However this is a question and belongs in the question and answer thread.
REQ separate media and ring volumes

While it is phrased as an inquiry, clearly this is a [REQ] for development of, or information on an existing app that will address the feature wanted.
Oh, and ME TOO.
This works perfect. :good:

Why does that app need to read the text of private data like credit card info?
If you don't want some Chinese app, you can check out RockerLocker on the play store

Yeah, but RockerLocker works by constantly playing a tone. Guessing that's no good for battery.

Appreciate the heads-up. Uninstalled Rocklocker and installed Media Volume Only.
Bump, I don't understand why there is still no magisk module for this!
There are many available for xposed.
Controlling the ringer volume instead of the media is one of the most useless things, especially when there's an alert slider

This is a Korean app. It is open source so you can inspect the code and build by yourself.
A good news is that Android P uses volume key for media volume by default.
You can change it in settings > sound & vibration > use volume buttons to adjust, if anyone is still looking for this

By long pressing the volume buttons?
I'm interested in this as well. I know there is a button remapper app, but not sure if it will work with skipping tracks. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=flar2.homebutton

I tried it a month ago no go.
I think something like Tasker could still work on Oreo

Late reply and you may have found something but for those who have not, Button Mapper by flar2 is what I use just for doing this. Available on XDA and Play Store.

Yea, we are looking for something that will work with the screen off.
Xposed + Gravity box - has an option to skip tracks with volume keys.
Works great, just tested it. Screen off

Yes it can be done with the screen off. You need to enable 'Screen Off Actions' in the 'Advance' menu. Scroll to the bottom.

Worked on a P10 with EMUI 8, android 8 Oreo, when nothing else would work. Forced it to see it as AOSP in the settings but maybe not necessary
Smart pocket does a pretty good job. Double/single click instead of long press, but it works.
just flash Ressurection remix and u can do what u want =)
Hi,
Is there a way to skip tracks by long pressing volume buttons when the screen is off ? (like in almost all custom roms).
I'm running MIUI 10 and I didn't find a way to do it.
You must have root access then you need to download Button Mapper application from play store. Configure the application and you are good to go.

Seems like a nice solution, but I can't make it work only when the screen is off. Or maybe I missed something

That's the drawback, it'll work even when screen is on.
