Phone asks for password after flashing stock firmware - Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite Questions & Answers

Hi guys,
I was having problems with 11.0.20, so I flashed 11.0.17 on my Mi A2 Lite (stock version from Xiaomi).
Now the phone is asking for a password on boot, I can only type in a password and select emergency call.
The problem is: I have never set any password on this device. Screen lock PIN does not work (and I have removed screen lock before flashing).
I tried flashing it twice once again, same result. I always tried flash_all_except_storage .
Is there some kind of master password that does work, if no password has been set? (I tried default_password , but this didn't work for me)
How can I get past this?
I flashed image 11.0.21 again, still the same result.
Now I tried flash_all.sh (including storage), and now the phone is hard reset.
I have flashed this phone multiple times, never did I do a downgrade though. I wonder why this is the first time I have been asked for a password.

[Q] Can't boot after encryption

Hi everyone,
Long time lurker posting for the first time, I hope I'm doing it in the right forum. I own a Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 with TWRP recovery and a custom ROM.
I was on RocketTab rom when this happened. I tried to encrypt the device using the built-in tool and followed the instructions. However, after a few minutes, my tab rebooted and got stuck on a screen asking for a password in German. I tried to enter my lockscreen password, it didn't worked. I triend another one and this time it seemed to work (even if it was an old password). The device was displaying a bugdroid with some kind of gear-belly. Then I had the RocketTab bootscreen and that was it. The screen stayed like this for a long time, so I rebooted, entered the password again and I got the same thing. That screen stayed like this until the battery dried out.
I went into TWRP and tried a restore, but all it changed was the bootscreen which got stuck in the exact same way. After a couple of failed attempts, I went deeper into TWRP and tried to wipe things. TWRP couldn't do that because /data failed to mount. I then went in the advanced settings and formatted /data. I was able to wipe it again if I would, so I thought my issue was resolved. It wasn't. Now I have the message asking for a password (now in English) but none of my previously used password are working :/
What do you guys think I can do? I don't care about the data, all I want is to make it work again.
Help me XDA people. You're my only hope.
Thanks!

It was a long time ago, a other has user done The same ,but i dont find The thread at The Moment.
I think The onlyest what will hell is flash a Stockrom with a Pit.file
A Pit.file erase and Format your hole tab.
Search in this thread for a pit.file, download The Stockrom from sammobile and this with Odin.
Thank you, it worked!

TWRP password problem with my OP5T

Hi everyone,
I have recently flashed my new O5T with OmniROM 8.1, tried a few hours and i decided to restore my backup. But i could not enter TWRP with my pin code. So i enter in as encrypted and wiped it. But when i reset the system the rom didn't start properly, there was only black screen. So i can not set my pin as a password, because i can not enter my settings.
Could anyone please help me on this?
Sorry for my English.
You should try restoring back to stock. U need to be familiar with ADB, which I assume u are. https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-5t/how-to/how-to-revert-to-oos-oreo-8-1-t3730952

Encryption password when flashing another ROM

Happens with Fulmics only.
I used this phone with fulmics for a year or longer.
Recently I flashed this rom https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/orig-development/rom-pixel-g3-aosp-t3571499/page70
I then encrypted the phone. I don't recall entering a pin or being asked for a password. The phone showed as encrypted.
I then attempted to flash Fulmics again but got
"enter password to unlock 30 attempts remaining" screen.
I reflashed the pixel g3 ROM again successfully. Phone shows as unencrypted and boots.
Why did this happen?
Do I need to do anything prior to flashing a different ROM?
I did format, reset, wipe, etc
I use a Linux computer so it'd be useful to use Linux tools if needed, but I could also get to a windows computer if necessary.
it was an ebay refurbished phone with stock rom unencrypted. I then flashed fulmics and used it for a long time. I never encrypted and was never asked for passwords.

Stuck on Startup

Having some serious trouble. I rebooted my phone and it asked for my password once it was done as always but this time it said it was wrong. I'm certain I used the correct password but even tried my other alternatives to be sure and still a no go. This isn't the decryption option password you get when booting but my lockscreen password. I booted into recovery and it asks me for an encryption password that I never set but I know this is a common issue with twrp. Tried to go back into android but wouldn't let me because of the "wrong" password so I used the failsafe and went into recoveries file manager and deleted my lockscreen settings to remove my lockscreen passcode (tried and proven method, done it dozen times before). Got past my lockscreen this time but now it was saying starting android forever. Figured it was something with the passcode being deleted so I just decidd to factory reset from the recovery and take that loss. NOW the problem is upon booting the rom in trying to start the setup, I'm stuck on the "just a sec..." screen that comes up after you click start. What do I do from here? I cant access anything in recovery because the encryption passcode issue so I'm kind of stuck. Also I'm a work right now and we cant connect our phones (or any USB for that matter) to the computers and laptops because theyre government property and on a secured line. Any help PLEASE, Ill be home later and can try more then.
Well since you already did a factory reset on the device you mine as well just do a clean install of the OFW then get twrp back and flash your ROM etc back. Would probably be better then to deal with everything going on with the device right now.

Hey, I got my phone back working after that and rooted again and flashed same rom. NOW another problem, I rebooted my phone and its not accepting my PIN anymore, nor my fingerprint, and I cant reset through TWRP because of encryption. WTF is the issue, how do I fix this or do I have to flash-all again?

Pin/lock screen doesn't work after rooting

Hi!
I have successfully rooted my Redmi 7, using latest TWRP and Magisk. However, now when I setup either pin, password or lock scree pattern, I cannot log in using them. I.e. I CAN set up a pin(1234), but when I try to enter(1234) it says incorrect. After that I cannot access my phone, and am forced to factory reset it. I tried resetting the phone multiple times, but I still cannot set up pin.
Is there any solution? The only one I thought of would beinstalling ROM, which I really don't want to do.
Thanks!
Same but with Samsung A6. Probably you can try this

You will need to factory reset your fone if it doesnot solve your problem then flash fastboot rom through mac or windows
