Hey,
today my Redmi Note 8 (ginko) performed a reboot out of the blue without me doing anything (phone was on).
It is stuck since with the Redmi logo, the Redmi logo appears (like in usual boot), then after some seconds the screen goes dark for a second, the phone vibrates and goes back to the Redmi logo. It appears it gets stuck somewhere in boot and tries to reboot.
The only thing I can do is enter Fastboot mode with vol down/Power, the fastboot logo appears, but then after a few seconds it reboots and goes back to the Redmi logo loop.
I've tried to clean the Power button by blowing into it, since it seems like it is permanently pressed. But I do get a click as feedback, which is why I think it is not a physical issue.
Is there any chance to get the phone out of the bootloop? I could let the battery run empty, but it was almost full and will take some time until it is empty. Also this guarantees no success...
The bootloader is unlocked with Pixel Experience flashed. If you need any more information let me know.
Edit: I've managed to boot into the recovery with vol UP/Power, but it is only visible for half a second before it goes back to the Redmi logo loop.
Edit2: Thinking about this... it makes sense the power button is stuck somehow, since it would "press" Power in recovery for the "reboot now" option. But the physical button seems not to be stuck. What to do?
Edit3: I hit the Power button really hard with my palm a few times. Well, what can I say... worked. Sorry for the confusion, hope this helps someone with the same issue.
Thank you so much in advance for your help!

You can't brick this phone flashing a ROM. If you were just stuck on the screen, without knowing how to reboot (and/or how to get into bootloader), you can force a reboot by:
1) Holding Power + Vol up until the screen goes black to reboot (in a "stuck" condition, you may need to hold the buttons about a minute).
2) The moment the screen goes black to reboot, let go of the buttons; and only hold vol down. Don't let go of vol down, until the bootloader screen appears.
3) If you fail to get into bootloader (stuck on HTC logo screen again), its virtually always due to getting the timing wrong; either started pressing vol down too late, or let go of it too early. Just repeat the process, until you get it right.
Hi, my Mi5S has a problem described in thread name. It has stock rom, wasnt rooted or unlocked (bootloader). When I plug it in power or it has some battery juice it continuously reboots and boots into these modes for a few seconds and again. I could get into recovery menu also but after a second it rebooted once again. Is there any chance to save it please? Thanks for answer.
Okay, it was power button being stuck, its working now.
The first problem I encountered while rooting my phone was that TWRP wouldn't stick, even though I didn't choose read only (ie i allowed it to make system modifications on the first TWRP boot) after rebooting
and booting back into recovery I would boot into stock recovery, instead of TWRP. So I tried flashing twrp, booting into it and rooting the phone, which was successful!
THE ROOT was successful, TWRP still didn't stick, every time I want to boot into TWRP I have to boot into it via fastboot.
Getting to the main problem, I booted into twrp, flashed a custom rom and got stuck in a bootloop while rebooting. It reboots every 15 seconds, I have kept the power button pressed for almost 2 minutes it doesn't stop the bootloop, I tried other combinations of vol buttons and power buttons does nothing.
One weird thing is that while it's in the loop I just have to press the vol down button and it boots into fastboot (as opposed to both the power button and vol down) when I boot into fastboot it stays there for about 6-7 seconds before rebooting, I tried booting into twrp through fastboot, but before I am able to enter the decryption password to start twrp, the phone reboots.
Should I let it run out of battery? will that stop the bootloop? I have a backup in twrp but I can't access twrp!
Does anyone have a solution?
[update] I let it run out of battery and on charging it continued the bootloop, with great difficulty i managed to install stock img file but the device just wont quit the bootloop

1. Try flashing new recovery image using TWRP booted via fastboot.
2. Does your phone had contact with any fluid or was in place with high humidity level for longer time? Your power button is short circuited. In other words it is in pressed state all the time. I had same problem on my previous P2 when I came from 1h running session in light rain. Some sweat and/or water got inside my volume down button and same thing happened.
In my case the phone button recovered itself after drying and clicking it a lot of times

I can't access TWRP as the phone doesn't give me enough time to enter the password for decryption, which is asked at the start every time you boot into TWRP, I get like 5 seconds in TWRP before the phone reboots
It is possible that the power button is spoilt as I have sweaty hands...

That's the reason. I know that pain. You should try pressing that button with different pressure (but be careful) and move you finger while doing it. Maybe it will recover itself. If not you should find someone trusted who will open the phone and clean the buttons from the inside. It's a shame that Lenovo just left this construction vunerable like that.
After you get your P2 working properly again then just buy case that will cover whole buttons to prevent situations like this next time. Also make sure to clean it regullary inside.

Try holding down the power button to restart the device, if it doesn't boot again, you may have a defected device, you can try returning it. Or if you are adventurous you can try flashing the stock rom by yourself but I'd suggest you to do the first. :good:
thanks, eany way ill make it with this https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi...ol-tool-one-driversunlocktwrpfactory-t3866191 ill try again and agian perssing volume down and power and i be able to enter fastboot then i unlock bootloader and erased data and phone after reset magicly booted up
Hey,
I was tinkering with me phone the past days.
I managed to unlock the bootloader on my Realme X2, installed twrp and HavocOs with the COS Vendor.
Everything working fine and well. Then i wanted to back to the stock rom and i installed the stock recovery found in this page with fastboot:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/realme-x2/how-to/to-stock-rom-howto-t4014773
Specifically the following one: "rmx1991-sde20-stock_recovery-c14.zip"
The problem is now that the phone is not booting anymore. It's not responding to volume down and power button to enter bootloader mode.
I only see the first Realme logo and then the screen goes black. When i hold volume button up and the power button, the phone reboots and i see the same Realme logo for a few seconds and after that the screen goes black again..
When i put the phone on the charger the screen stays black.
Thanks guys! I hope someone can help me solve this issue!
Does anyone have any clue what's going on and maybe willing to assist?
Edit 1: so I managed to get in to the bootloader again. When I hold power button and both volume buttons the phone restarts in bootloader mode. It's still unlocked. The strange part is that the phone stays in the bootloader mode for like 20 seconds and then just reboots. Any clues why and how I can prevent that?
I just faced the same trouble, with your hint to boot into fastboot i flashed the twrp.

Can you please describe the process for bootloader unlock of rmx1991
