I used Magisk. Downloaded the apk on my computer and changed the file extension to .zip. Then rebooted device to LOS recovery and selected Apply update to allow me to adb sideload Magisk. Seems to run just fine as Zygisk.
Thank you npjohnson and Eamo5 for keeping this device alive. This release is even running better than 18.1 so far for me.
I am confused, I was following the install to the recovery listed and saw two files, one a zip and the other an img.
Wasn't sure if I should get both so went on the subreddit to ask and was told both of those were no good as they were for 9 only.
Any ideas?

Can we also get nav buttons? When I'd flashed this, the lack of nav buttons, on top of not getting play store running, was a huge downer.

Already coded from PhoenixOS? Didn't see when I'd used it before. Anyway to modify it to more like Remix?

I can, and quite well. I flashed this way before you even posted this as a .zip. I'm just agreeing with you, that after flashing Gapps, I didn't get PlayStore running either. In reference to the buttons, I was asking if the buttons could be modified to be placed on the lower bar. Can you not comprehend?

The fingerprint scanner will never work whithout a patch. Can someone make a patch for this?
I'm searching something, but I can't find anything working on pie. I found a patch for oreo roms.

No, unfortunately fingerprint is not working.
Installed the rom, booted just fine, however I do not see the settings for Face Unlock on this. I thought Face unlock is working?

I flashed the ROM and everything I need is almost working perfectly. Much smooth than stock MIUI.
BTW, There are some bugs I noticed in this ROM and Android P based MIUI ROM:
1. When I connect Android Studio and debug any applications, the app runs extremely slow, when I disconnect adb debug mode, it's normal.
2. Somehow, Dialog has a weird animation, it jumps to the front with an abnormal way.
I *think All these bugs are ascribed to Xiaomi, because these bugs also show in MIUI(Android p). And there are no problems when using Android O based MIUI.

Was my bad, forgot to root. Side note: to force shut down your nord, hold vol + and - and power button.
Safety Net and magisk or just Banking apps without magisk not working, Pixel Experience got banking apps working fine.
Maybe something you can fix?

Yes. I read instructions and downloaded the zip and Los recovery. But as habit I alwasy move zip to pc, dump, use those imgs.. Once I did all that I kind of forgot about the Los recovery. But that is what is included in boot.img within ths zip(rom).

Yes. I read instructions and downloaded the zip and Los recovery. But as habit I alwasy move zip to pc, dump, use those imgs.. Once I did all that I kind of forgot about the Los recovery. But that is what is included in boot.img within ths zip(rom).

they are different recovery, but it's good to we can use boot dtbo and vendor boot from zip file, not los recovery, it's really confusing using los instructions, i will try with imgs from zip file, thx

yeah I think it should work, thanks anyway trying right now , fw included? Or what is recommend fw?
