I don't think there is a universally best kernel. All kernels try to find a useable balance between performance and battery backup. Some are a bit more performance-oriented, others try to push this balance a little bit more towards battery. Last but not least, the interaction of ROM, apps and kernel is important. So you won't be able to avoid trying out a few kernels with your device (and your usage) and choosing the best one for you.
In my usecase (long lasting battery, only short&light loads, no gaming) I'm quite happy with N0Kernel (battery version). However, my kernel tests were made a while ago and there are more recent versions of all kernels, I think. There might be better kernels out now (for my usecase), but I would need several weeks to be able to make a comparison.

You're asking for trouble posting questions like this around here
The various discussions are all about the different versions you can find - people have different experiences with each one so this will probably just get ignored and you may well be told to go and read the wiki.
I personally would suggest reading the wiki ;-)
Failing that, try 'em - and book mark the bricked hermes thread if you can't be bothered reading them all first
Start with Black 2 for now though and work your way from there
Functionality - all of the version have functionality.
Outlook - every one of them comes with some version of Outlook. Even has a GUI interface for it.
Stability - keep the phone in your pocket or on a flat surface and you will have no stability problem. If you stand it on its end you will have stability problems.
Does that help?
See what I mean? ;-)

Hey guys, I am running CodenameAndroid and Francos Kernel. I am getting awesome battery life as I went 25 hours yesterday. However, if I ran Francos Kernel with a differnt ROM, (AOKP for instance) is there a possibility of better battery life?
Do certain Kernels work better with certain ROMs as far as battery life goes?
Yes different combinations produce different results.
Currently testing out new Gummy with the provided Imoseyon kernel. Results look good, updating to 1.0.1 from 1.0 right now.
Here my battery life on my first time trying 1.0 with Imoseyon 3.2.2. Light-medium usage with a lot of standby. Stock battery.

Hello!
Apologies if people are sick of see threads like this, but I figure I ask for some advice considering I'm only getting about 6-7 hours of actual phone use with only 4 hours of screen on time.
SM-N900T on Jedi Rom with included SaberN3Kernel_KK kernel with interactive governor with these settings:

I've also done almost everything on the battery maximize thread here including greenifying and freezing applications:

The phone isn't in wakelock so I'm unsure why I'm not getting at least 6 solid hours of screen time.
As you can see with screen on time + spotify I've only used the phone for about 6 hours total which dropped me down to 5%.
Unsure what else I can do at this point, maybe just a bum battery?
I am a new into this custom ROM field, i know how to flash and all but new into building.
When trying to build my custom rom and sync everything, but when I am trying to build, it got stucked in this build.ninja from a long time.

That phase requires a ton of DRAM. When building 19.1, this phase might consume as much as 12GB DRAM.
It's suggested to have 16GB DRAM. If you have less, make sure your swap partition is around 16GB.
You can also try to adapt these hacks to make it build with less DRAM.
