I am using the newest version of Google navigation in Amsterdam. I cannot find how to enable Street View in it. The website states it should be possible to navigate with street view. They say you should tap the screen twice to enable. I rooted the phone and removed maps completely and then reinstalled from the market, but no luck.
Try click and holding the map, and when the address pops up, click it so you go into the detail view. In that screen, you should see the street view icon on the right.
That is probably in Google Maps, i am referring to Navigation. In navigation when i click and hold the map in navigation nothing happens.
It seems it really is not there anymore. Here you can read some answer, somebody already asked google and they are working on it as it seems:

Hi guys, few days ago I was using my Galaxy Nexus when a strange white dot came out on the left side of the notification bar. It appears and disappears with apparently no reason and, if you try to open the notification menĂ¹ while it shows it, there are absolutely no notifications related to this strange symbol.
When you close the notification menĂ¹, it reappears and then goes away without any interaction.
Today I discovered that I can reproduce this kind of "notification" by opening the Clock app and then touching twice the screen to reduce the backlight and to raise it back.
Anyone knows what's that?
Here's a screenshot:
That is a Google Now Card Notification, just pull down your Notification Bar, and swipe it away, it'll get rid of the dot.

I never noticed that. That dot looks VERY faint. My Google now notifications look different IIRC.

Thanks for answering but that's not related to Google now and when I pull down the notification menu there's nothing showing.
Any other ideas?
Run addon detector from the market. I think you downloaded an app with push notifications.

Well that is odd then. Puzzling. Every time that dot appears for me, it is due to the fact that I have a Google Now notification. Try a Task Manager to see what app is open, and when you close it, see if the dot continues to appear.

Thanks for the smart suggestions. I'll try both the solutions and reply! :good:

I just saw this same exact dot today. I was watching a full-screen video with an embedded YouTube link. The 3 soft buttons went into "discreet" mode and turned into 3 pale dots. All the notifications on the notification bars all turn into a single pale dot like this as well.

Did anyone ever figure out what this was?
I had this show up on a Nexus 7, playing a YouTube video in full screen made it go away so I'm guessing as stated above it has something to do with video controls hiding or something.
Is it related to SIP VoIP accounts? IIRC that's about what it looks like when connected, except green. Did you try to set something up there and it's showing that faint white dot to show it's not connected?
Mine is a blue dot and I recently found out what it was hehe
Same here, on my Nexus4. I can make it pop up at any time by tapping on any picture to hide notification bar and buttons and then tapping again to show them back (in my case it works every time i hide and show buttons, no matter which app im using - gallery, video player, youtube, etc). That white dot then pops up. Sometimes it stays for only a fraction of a second, sometimes for half a minute, and then just disappear, whether i open the notification bar or not. My guess it's just some weird FW flaw (besides, this dot looks just like these white dots indicating hidden buttons).
Any news? I have it using different roms, I assume it is something app related...
Eureka !!!
Had this dot with the fading lines. Noticed the dot disappeared right when I updated an installed app on Play Store (first it was replaced by the downloading arrow and then disappeared completely)
If you have this dot, check for apps' updates. You probably have at least one...
*Noticed it's a two years old thread just after posting... sorry
Confirmed for me

some apps you guys are opening have GPS related features, such as the photo apps ability to give you the location in which the picture was taken. When the dot appears for me, I turn off location (GPS) and it disappears every time. Hope my experience helps someone! If anyone still needs it :highfive:

I haven't seen this in a little while but I thought it was related to google now weather (they've since updated that icon to be clouds and whatnot)
I can also see this small white transparent dot on the top left corner of notification area it appears on my phone mostly when I check my whatsapp shared media images from whatsapp, I just attached a screen shot here,no idea which application responsible for this dot :silly:
For me it was the "Ok google" setup that i started, then interrupted. Once i went back into the "Ok google" detection setup under "Voice" and finished setting it up, the notification disappeared.
Ive tried looking on the forums and on google.com i have found a lot of stuff stating the same problems but no fixes. So if someone could either explain to me the problem or a solution that would be awesome.
FOr some reason on the Note 2 and S3 i think for that matter Google now wont work 100%
1. if you press menu the menu pops up for a sec and then disappears. only way around this is if you press in the search bar as if you were going to type then you can press menu.
2. I no longer have the little picture at the top that shows either the sun (if its day light) or the moon (if its night) its just the search bar with all my recent searches under it which is super annoying. If i use the fix above to get to the settings and turn google now off and then on i get my little picture back until i leave Google now. then its gone again.
Like I said in the other thread. I was able to uninstall the updates for Google Search and all is well for me.

Before updating google now, go into google now settings/voice/hotword detection and turn it off. Menu button will work fine after the upgrade. Some issue with hotword detection and Note 2.
Is anyone else having the issue of their on screen nav buttons cutting off part of the google maps screen? When I'm navigating I can't see the ETA section or hit the 'X' to close navigation. Really annoying. I'm wondering if it's a maps app issue or possibly the ROM I'm using somehow. I'm on the latest ICE custom ROM. Also, it might be related, but when the pop up asking which app i want to use for various options pops up (ie when I click a number to call it asks if I want to use phone or skype) I can't click on the 'Just Once' or 'Always' option because it makes me hit the nav keys (even though I am hitting the 'Always' selection). Thanks for any help.
Android Auto has come a long way especially now that it has OK Google voice commands in it. Before I didn't like it because when a message popped up, I'd still have to touch the notification in order to have the message read out. Now I can "OK Google" and say "read my messages" and it will read them out loud.
My biggest worry is burn in. That navigation bar at the bottom of Android Auto doesn't change at all. Has anyone had any issues with Android Auto causing burn in on their screen? I used to use drivemode which ran int he background but it gets finicky at times especially if Google has update their Google search app.
I tried to turn on screensaver and while it comes on when android auto is activated, I can't see any notifications while the screensaver is on.
Any advice?

I use Android Auto 45m+ 2x/day 5days/week for the last 2 months on my Pixel and haven't noticed any hint of burn in. Mine is typically left on the map view, but I do switch to the audio view occasionally. I know that's only one data point, so take that for what it's worth.

That's more than I use it so that's a good sign. Thanks for the input.

You should be fine honestly. I've used mine for 7 hours straight in our last road trip to visit family couple weekends ago. Had it on high brightness because the dang rental want tinted.

FWIW I've noticed burn-in on my Note 4. I've been driving for around 2 hours a day for the last few months, and have it on map view. There's a definitely yellowing where the map sits with noticeable light patches where the button bar is at the bottom, and the info panel at the top.
you'll get burn in. it's amoled. i've come to terms with it for the simple reason that i probably won't have the phone for more than a year or 2, so who cares
I use a app called "Navbar Apps" by damian in the play store. it changes the nav bar colors based on the app in the foreground. this keeps the black away, and gives my pixel a nice look.
I have serious burn in on the S7 Edge, can see the bar at the bottom, the arrow button for getting to maps and the search button on the top right from the maps interface (round circle with a magnifying glass in).
Didn't notice until yesterday. Now can't stop seeing it. Have used Android Auto for about 4 months 60 mins a day at least split into two commutes.
Looks like my next phone will be IPS LCD
You will get burn in. Thats just how amoled works.
