Hello guys, i was wondering since I've made the 5.0 update (european) if it was possible for me to flash a custom rom like cyanogen without root (because root isn't an option since llp) ?

Click to collapse
After flashing a ROM, flash SuperSu 2.4 to get root.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using XDA Free mobile app
But how do I flash without root ?
It's noobish question, i can't get to recovery, I've tried with the Power and vol down keys, all i can get is a menu to erase my data, thats it.
Firsh backup your data. Then go back to EU stock ROM:
here are the stock ROMs: http://storagecow.eu/index.php?dir=Xda%2FLG+G3%2FStock%2F
how to go back to your stock ROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2797190
Now you can root your LG G3, use TWRP/CWM custom recovery and flash custom ROM.

Thank you, I hoped there was another way, i will downgrade then, thanks.
maybe there is. Im not pro neither I received OTA for 5.0, but I wanted to have my LG rooted, so I had to downgrade and now I am running AN HD.
hey guys,
i will be flashing Echoe Zen Rom v3 [2.20.40.165] which is the latest rom & will then flash the latest kernel available (Ael Zen v3.5) which was released yesterday... The only doubt i have here is if i flash this rom will be able to flash the latest stock firmware from asus? and if yes how can i flash it... I have seen people having issues with twrp & updating stuff so do i also have to edit the updater script? Please someone enlighten me on this issue of updating to latest stock rom after flashing echoe rom... I know the flashing of entire rom i.e boot.img, system.img etc with adb but is there any other way like ota or flashing directly of stock rom via twrp? i dont wanna edit the updater script & stuff everytime we get an update...
The best way back to complete stock is to use root with CWM recovery and flash the stock zip from your external SD card as the phone goes back to complete stock. Bootloader is locked again after you do this.
Hi there, I have my reasons, but I want to return back to a custom Oreo rom, I'm currently on a custom ROM with the latest firmware 9.0.7, so is it a case of downloading a earlier stock firmware, flashing in recovery? Also as I want to stay decrypted too, do I still use the v4 no Verity file on Oreo?
Thanks everyone
I am also thinking of going back to Oreo and have my reasons also. I think the best way would be to use the Aroma installer by brad which has oreo stock too.

would also be very interested if downgrade is possible. bought a used 5t with pie but need xposed and a few modules. anybody out there who tried downgrade?
Hi..I successfully downgraded my 5t to Oreo ob19 using flashable zip from below link
https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-5t/how-to/oneplus-5t-mirrors-official-oxygen-os-t3708099
Copy the rom zip to internal storage. Reboot into stock/twrp
Wipe data/cache reset system settings
Flash zip and wipe cache then restart
We are back into the good old Oreo...
So, I've had the latest official stock rom on my Oneplus 3T but decided to install a custom rom. But now whenever i install a custom rom, i lose the ability to connect to LTE.
Does anybody know why this is????
THanks
you need to restore your phone back to stock using unbrick tool then update it to the latest oxygen os 9.0.5 then try putting a custom rom on
hello, currently I am on resurrection remix oreo rom with some old oreo firmware (non-arb firmware by yshalsager).
now i want to flash latest miui pie rom. i wanted to know about some steps to follow and precautions to take...
because I want to come back to rr oreo (obviously with oreo firmware) if there any problem arise or if don't like the miui rom (haven't used on 1 year).
so for this I made the non-arb firmware and firmware-less rom using the tool provided by yshalsager on his website.
because i want the firmware to stay non arb (to be able to come back to oreo firmware from pie firmware).
now i understand that in many cases miui used to wipe complete device when flashing rom or/and it will encrypt device /data
so if people that have tried this will answer my question I will be grateful.
will the miui rom wipe my complete device? (i have already backed up my current rom) (but If it will wipe my storage data, such as music pics etc)
will it encrypt device? such as data partition and etc
if yes, how do I prevent that? by flashing lazyflasher or such?
or is it no problem if it wipes.
if I do need to flash lazyflasher or such, can anyone provide me the zip?
thank you
okay, so I tried orangefox recovery (which automatically remove dm-verity and forceencryption on miui roms).
first I flashed the non-arb pie firmware then I flashed firmware-less rom (created using tool by xiaomifirmwareupdater).
although the device did not get encrypted nor did I lose any data. the ROM didn't boot. it was stuck at boot logo. can someone tell me what's wrong here? and the correct steps?
