with Android 12.1 came the demise of Fabricated Overlays, something I had used to increase the number of QS tiles from the default of four to six. is this still possible even with root? all the information that I found on the web seems to point at not using root and using the Fabricated Overlay app, which has been deprecated.
Not exactly what you want, but I use this Project Themer · Android 12⁺. It's not free.

how did you manage to get 8? I'm only able to get 1 row, with max 4 columns modifying quick_settings_num_columns. Previously there was a quick_qs_panel_max_columns that I could modify to get a total of 6 QS tiles, but that's no longer found.

You should start an "unofficial changelog" or something like that thread and stop creating a new one for no news at all.
Just let it go. Will keep doing it this way.

It was a pretty good idea, maybe it could be a sticky, your information is very useful and should be easy to find. I think it would be great if your reports about the changes from version to version could be find in the same thread. Your unofficial changelogs is clearly much better then the official ones.
How did you get this update? Was it on a supported phone, or did you change the registry settings to get it on an un-supported phone? I have a Lumia 925 on .218 and am trying to update via Windows Insider w/registry changes but nothing is showing up. Thanks!

Switch to Release Preview branch, reboot and check for updates. That should do it!
As the title says, is there a way to edit Quick Settings and how can I get long press to kill?
And, screen shots?

Nope, no control for that yet. But you can add qs, can't arrange them, lots of long press options. Without custom rims with fine control, this is best option. Could go viper at this point
Yea, I miss editing the Quick Settings since I don't use Calculator/Location/Do not Disturb.
Auto-rotate I set to on and control from whatever program I happen to use which has the option.
I hope they change it so you can add/remove quick settings soon.
A little off topic, but how do I fix this with Gravity Box? I'd prefer not having a straight line of QS.

I think it has to do with how you reorder your QS.

Getting better
So basically, you can't put anything above WiFi and BT, or you'll get distorted QS.

I've recently ordered a OnePlus 3. Long time iPhone user, but I've had a few Android handsets in that time. I liked the OnePlus 1 because you could alter the DPI. With the new OnePlus 3 (Nougat) update allowing you to alter the DPI, I'm giving Android another shot.
I was wondering if anyone had any screenshots of different apps, with the DPI set to the smallest setting?

Are you planning on rooting the device? If so changing dpi is easy. Without root it can only be done if the settings allow it. (apparently 4 has it?).
To your question. I haven't changed dpi.
Yes, I'm referring to the ability to change the DPI in OOS4 (Nougat) I'd just like to see the difference it makes.

I'm using the smallest setting since the release of Open Beta 8 (and still running it, too lazy to update to stable )
Any particular apps you're interested in?
Want just smallest DPI setting or also bigger for comparison?

So I am sure this has been asked many times, I just cant seem to find it, lol.
I hate the digital square clock thing on the lock screen and from what I can tell and read there is not an easy way to change this. Nice!!
I am rooted, any suggestions on how to change this to a normal digital or analog clock? I am not sure why would there not be an option for something as SIMPLE as this?
I hear this changed in Android 12, but in 13, its a new "feature"?
The only way to change it currently is to leg l leave some kind of notification as unminimized. I know in another thread in this section someone mentioned a particular app for creating a dummy notification you can leave displaying all the time. Having a notification that displays on the lockscreen makes the lockscreen small as in screenshot below.
Now if you don't let notifications display on your lockscreen, then there's nothing you can do about it for now (until / if someone finds a way).

Thanks, will look into that. Any idea WHY this would be restricted this way, lol?
I just use the built in screen saver and have it set to the digital clock. Down side is that the screen saver only works when the phone is charging/docked.
You can try AODNotify or
Tasker can help you change the size of Android 12's AOD clock
A new Tasker project allows you to choose between the small and large clock designs on Android 12's Always-On Display.

With A12 Google removed a lot of the customization options we once had, such as setting a specific icon layout in the status bar and choosing a font style. Samsung still retains these features.
In A12 the lock screen clock is new, while in A13 there is supposedly new options being developed that will allow you to change the display format. It may also arrive in A12L.
Your best bet is to install a 3rd party AOD app to customize your lock screen or wait for a custom ROM.
Hi,
Does anyone know how to get rid of (remove/hide) the battery icon from the status bar, while still showing the battery percentage, particularly on stock Android 13?
This could have easily be done on previous Android versions through the Gravity box XPosed module however, no working version is currently available for Android 13.
Already tried :
Firefds Kit works fine and I have it installed, BUT it doesn't come with this feature.
I've tried AOSP Mods but it doesn't work on Samsung's stock Android 13.
The SystemUI Tuner app can no longer access Samsung's System UI.
I would appreciate any suggestion, other than the ones already mentioned above, that is known to be working on Samsung's stock Android 13.
Thanks!

You're welcome. Seems too easy, doesn't it?
Quickstar is a great moding app...
Don't forget One Handed Operation plus, it's not like what it sounds.
I use NavStar, Clockface and Task Changer a lot too. The app Double Tap as well.
Stock N10+ running on Pie with lots of UI bending apps. They use very little battery.

Right, it does seem too easy!? I was in denial for the first 5 seconds...
I still rely heavily on LMT, Tasker, Firefds Kit and other root-based customization tools but I'll definitely check out the other suggestions as well. Again, thanks a bunch!
