Hi, thank you for help! I've a friend asking me for an update, I'm not oging to spend hours trying to figure out why a [N 7.1.2] AOKP-ROM is diffrente from [7.1.2_r17][OFFICIAL] AospExtended ROM, etc. There are many releases here.. could someone kindly just suggest me the most stable and updated? Thank you a lot!
PS: I've found also the "[CM13/14]-[MM/N] [OFFICIAL] Remix Kernel [3G|LTE|DS]", is this "improvements package" contained already in a ROM? Or should I flash it after I flash for exaple AOKP-ROM?
Thank you
I suggest AOKP, I've been using it for quite a while now and it's quite stable, and all around well built. (Although a minor feature, it has very pretty customisation features, not much, but a transparent "glassy" status bar is possible for this rom, as well as transparent volume control.)
Thank a lot for your answer! What about the kernel remix? Is it possible to flash just after aokp? Or better not?
Reply.
Though I have flashed kernels after the roms before, and they worked, I think it'd be better to flash the kernel first, since flashing the kernel after the rom can lead to a boot loop, if that was your question.
help me guys i have read somewhere that some custom rom offer fast charging is true
Long story short, I am looking for a new custom ROM. I have been using LineageOS for a long time as I had a fairly high degree of trust in their dev team, but recently I have been having an issue where the screen stops responding to touch and the only thing that will fix it is reflashing a stock firmware. I don't trust Oneplus software after the various incidents where they were caught with back doors and spyware in OOS, so I'm looking for a new custom ROM that is not derived from either OOS or Lineage - problem is I have been out of the ROM hopping game for so long I don't know which ROMs are decent and which dev teams have a good rep... Any advice or recommendations would be appreciated..
Hello everyone I have some questions and I would be grateful if someone with knowledge answered them.
I know that custom kernels are based on the kernel tree that xiaomi releases but is it possible for them to damage the phone? Like optimus drunk or immensity?
In the HOS change log, I read that they fixed a bug that would deteriorate the UFS storage so I was wondering if its effecting all the custom kernels?
And I know I can't but to make sure. Can I use stock kernel on aosp rom?
And finally Xiaomi.eu uses stock kernel and firmware or not? Because in some installation guides I read that its firmware is different! (Currently using weekly release)
I am asking these questions because I wanted to use LOS but couldn't relax when it was installed.
Hello!
I have a POCO F3 alioth (EEA 12.5.7_RKHEUXM) and I am considering flashing xiaomi.eu_multi_HMK40_POCOF3_V13.0.3.0.SKHCNXM_v13-12-fastboot stable custom ROM.
I have no prior experience in flashing custom firmware
I will be following this tutorial.
Is there anything else I should know? Any bugs? Any issues I might encounter, how to prevent them, and how to fix them? Any extra preparations?
Thanks in advance.
