Which Download speeds do you obtain with Mobile Data 5G
Usually I have about 130-140 Mbps, but yesterday I measured up to 469 Mbps
I know, it depends on provider, location, number of users being locally served... but still, I was surprised
Specially bcs I have only 5G NSA, not the 'oure' 5G SA (again, 'thanks' to the provider)
PS: Today I even measured 701 and 862 Mbps download and 126 Mbps upload on the 5G

2K/bytes download speed on T-Mobile UK
Using the speedtest.net app I'm only receiving 2 K/bytes download speed and an impressive 134 K/bytes upload.
There is nothing in the background using the Internet
Full signal strength/bars
APNs correctly setup on device (general.t-mobile.uk, username: t-mobile, pass: tm)
Have free 3GB Internet Booster on the account
Content filter removed
Capped data rate removed
Connecting by WiFi at home receives 1174.2 K/bytes down, 137.2 K/bytes up
I'm absolutely lost at what could be the fault. Called T-Mobile mobile tech support team and they say there's nothing wrong with my account or known issues with my area code, and my signal strength is top.
Sometimes I get 40 K/bytes max (very rare but possible)
Any ideas?

Test your SIM in another phone and see if that makes a difference.
If it doesnt then do 5 speed tests throughout the day noting the time and results and the postcode your in and call tech support and ask them to escalate it to the network guys
I've just tested my connection and got 247kbps download and 121kbps upload.
That's using the same app on T-Mobile, and I don't live in a city (though the speed results when I had my G1 were worse when I went into Newcastle).
Have you tried the speed test when your phone is closer to a different broadcast tower? That would be the easiest way to tell if it's your phone or the local network.
Thanks for your comments guys. I've just run the speed test at my work location in Slough (inside the office, much slower... I'm guessing because of the thick brick walls and loads amount of local networks and electrical equippment around)
Down: ranging from 76 to 133.7 KB/s
Up: ranging from 54 to 57.9 KB/s
Signal strength: poor (1 to 2 bars) ranging from -99db to -105, 7 to 3 asu
So it's faster at work with only 1 bar, how does that work?
I also tested it this morning in my home area (where I'm having the problems) and again it's 1-2 KB/s download speed but fast upload with full bars.
Checking this morning I'm getting 600kbps down/450kbps up on T-Mobile, 2 bars HSDPA.
This is quite low for my download speed, as I'm often getting 1.5mbps+.
If you are getting a problem in a specific location, chances are it is the cell tower.
Regards,
Dave

I honestly don't know how you're getting those speeds. Top speed I've seen on my HTC Desire on T-Mobile is 150 KB/s

It should be very achievable as long as you are connected to a cell via HSDPA, and the cell has sufficient capacity. Bear in mind that cell congestion can cause your speed to vary wildly during the day.
I presume that you have an H on your phone when you are testing?

Dave

Looks like there is an issue on your home transmitter do what I said with the speed tests at intervals and get them to escalate it
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
My handset shows the HSDPA symbol. Even during non-peak hrs like 3am it's still slow. Occasionally it spikes up to as high as 40KB/s but 9 times out of 10 its no faster than 2KB. Tried the sim in a friends HTC Hero and get the same result, if not around 30% slower (expected as this is a slower device than my Desire)
Just tried it on my phone and got a d/l of 1045 and u/l of 489. This is a bit slower than I normally get as I have full reception although it has thrown up a bit of a teaser as when I did the wifi speed check I was only getting 1.8 mbs where I am normally nearer 6 mbs
Copying files across wifi, SMB fileshare. Note 3 - 3-5MB/sec (yes, MB, not Mbit). Note 7 - 500-700KB/sec. Both show similar wifi connection rates at 144 Mbit/sec.
Anyone else seeing crappy throughput on wifi?
No, mine is not that bad. I just did a speedtest.net on a 100 Megabit down 10 megabit up connection and got 50 megabits down (best the router will do in all honesty) and the full 10 megabits up. That roughly translates to 5 Megs a second down and 1 Up. I have read others complain about the speed though.
What app are you using to measure the speed?
I've got cox, pay for the premier package and its supposed to max out at 150mbps download and I believe 10mbps upload. Early mornings (2am or so) I see speeds on my 5ghz network (using an Arris SB 6141 DOCSIS 3.0 Modem and a ASUS RT-68P AC 1900 Wireless Router) well into the 190mbps range on my Note 7, highest I've had so far is 193mbps download. I consistently hit 10mbps upload but when it first starts out it pulls into the 25mbps range and slows down to the 10-13 mbps range upload.

Yeah lol the upload is nothing exciting, it's nice to see it jump into the 20+mbps range for about 10 seconds or so then throttle down around 10-13mbps. But I'm happy hitting over 150mbps later at night. But my Note 7 has been just as fast, if not slightly faster than my Note 4 was with throughput.
I made a video showing the 5G speeds of the Galaxy Note 10 Plus 5G on Verizon in Venice Beach. I'll be doing more videos and testing as more 5G locations around Los Angeles show up. I was at CES last week and they had 5G in many areas of the convention which was amazing.

Let me know if you have questions!
I have the same phone over in the UK and am testing the 5G here... We only get 200 - 300 MBPS DL and 40 - 50 MBPS UL... I know its different bands / frequencies etc...
But seriously your speeds are nuts...

You're lucky living so close to Gatwick Airport. I live in Hampshire and we're yet to get the 5G treatment. I'd need to venture into Reading to experience 5G
I work in London and I get 5G at work - I get 300 in London and 200 @ GTW.
I get patches on the way to Work - Croydon I get 175. Farringdon gets 250.
Birmingham, UK. I once got 600mb/s DL but I average between 300-400 normally. This is on the Vodafone 5G network.
At CES I was getting up to 1.8Gbs download speeds on the convention floor.
You guys in the main land must be loving the 5g treatment over in Belfast I'm lucky if I get 50mbs on O2-UK
I even sent reports of the issue to get texts saying nothing is wrong.
I have the EU version of P6P, the one without mmWave, anyway, not an issue, as mmWave is not supported by my carrier.
I have very good download speed, but upload is no more than 5-6 Mb/s.
Do you have any suggestion, please?
Likely expected behavior. Most mid-band 5G spectrum is TDD and allocated to favor downlink.
My Pixel 5 was significantly faster than my Pixel 6 Pro on 5G but even so i see 70 or 80Mbit uploads, that said i have also seen a 0.69Mbit 5G upload so it isnt always great.
It all depends on what is around you (tower wise) and which phone carrier you are using. Most people who use 5G don't see those lighting fast speeds that are often advertised. It'll presumably take a few more years before a larger chunk of us reach those speeds (due to new towers, new bands being activated and new phone modems being manufactured and utilized).
Hi folks. I have been using the device for a few months, but have not had great speeds on 5g. In fact, the 5g speed is the same as the 4g speed when I test.
I then took the SIM out and put it in the Poco F3 and 5g speed went from 10 to 130 (down).
Has anyone had similar experience with 5g connection? I am not sure if might be the Poco gets a stronger signal strength, or whether there are other issues. Both devices are compatible (and sold by) my carrier.
5G is very dependent on near direct line of sight to the tower, distant and available bandwidth. 5G may not be fully integrated where you are, but it will probably improve over time.
Many websites limit their bandwidth and they end up being the bottleneck even with 4G.
5G requires more energy so disable it if it gives you no speed benefit and boosts your battery life.
5G works well if you have a good signal and are transfering large amounts of data. Otherwise it's wasteful and not needed.
Yes, but Samsung and F3 tested in same location within 5 minutes of each other. Samsung got 10 down. F3 got 130 down. Same network. Same sim

It's probably the local network...
4G works well for me so I deliberately blew off 5G. Lots of problems with 5G, still.
Plus my unlimited data 4G plan is grandfathered.
