Philips 55PFS8109/12 boot error - Philips, Sony, TCL Android TV

Hi.
When I normally turn on the power, it takes a long time for the logo to appear, but if I turn on the TV in an attempt to enter the boot menu, the logo appears quickly. But no matter what, nothing happens.
When the logo disappears, there is a black screen until the LED flashes 2. When I tried to start up in the boot menu, it boots twice where the logo appears before the LED flashes 2.
Via service uart I notice these 4 lines.
SDIO read error
EMMC: read Android image fair
Read mkbootimg error!
recovery pattition image is not proper!!
Not looked through everything yet, but can see that it reboots 5-6 times.
Have assumed that it was the firmware that was the error, but since I can not enter the boot menu via the screen, how can I load other firmware? Can I do this via I2C or SPI? Is there anyone who can explain to me how to deal with this?
Which program is preferred? Where to load the various files in the downloaded firmware for etc.
Thanks in advance.

No idea?
Does anyone have full datasheet over 88DE3100?

Hi,
the only chance is to access the Recovery Mode menu and install the the latest firmware again.
The 2014 TVs powered by Android 4.2.2 (not Android TV) have a common problem after some years, that the flash chip is broken.
[email protected]

Hi.
Is it eMMC? Assuming there is no point in just changing it. Does it not require programming before soldering?
Should I not be able to start the recovery menu even if the flash is defective? Can I send a commando to start of recovery mode via I2C / SPI?
Thanks for the response

OTA Update Elephone P8000 stucks at Boot Logo

Hi there,
I just updated P8000 via OTA update and after downloading the Update, the phone restarted and stops at the elephone boot Logo (about 30 min )!!
I did 5 Restarts but every time it hangs at the boot logo...
In the past i did no other updates or flashing ROMS.. nothing!
When i press "Volume Up" and "Power" to Start, i get three Options:
Recovery Mode
Fastboot Mode
Normal Boot
Using Recovery Mode leads to: Symbol Android Robot with "No Order" (in german : "Kein Befehl")
Using Fastboot Mode leads to: Nothing (Recovery Menue stays)
Using Normal Boot leads to: restart and hanging at Elephone Boot Logo
So, I am running out of Options... any ideas?
Cheers, Albert

When you go to recovery mode and get the the android robot symbol. Press again Vol up + Power until you enter to recovery. Make a 3 wipe (data factory , cache and dalvink). Reboot and uninstall the El loader. Use another Loader instead of El Loader

In order to uninstall EI Loader, install first root (superSU), then install ccleaner and you can uninstall EI Loader (In system app)
Hi there, sorry for the revival !
But i got the same problem: OTA update, fail, P8000 blocked on boot screen.
I tried wipe data/factory reset + wipe cache -> nothing changed, still boot screen blocked...
Then, i tried to use flash tool, but, the phone isn't booting, so my pc isn't recognizing the phone..
I'm not even sure that I correctly installed the drivers..
Can i use flash tool even if the phone is blocked to boot screen?
I downloaded this ROM: stock-rom-elephone-p8000-20150907-android-5-1 (this is my first post i can't post URL..)
Because i got some issues with my phone and support told me to try it.
But when i follow the tutorial, launching "donwload" and connecting the phone, nothing happening..
The phone turn on, and display recharging logo, and flash tool still wainting.
Recovery mode -> "No command", Volume up + power is working, i used it to wipe datas
But at the moment, i'm still blocked, since 2 days, i dont know what to do
Can someone help me?
Thank you by advance, i hope my english isn't so bad

Yes you can use SPFlash tool evenif the phone stucks in the boot screen. Simply switch the phone off, start SPFlash tool and then connect the phone to usb.
If you follow the instructions from elephone, then your phone should working again: http://bbs.elephone.hk/thread-1037-1-1.html#.VofQ13wvdpo

Hi, and thx for the help.
The driver is correctly installed now, i had to allow unsigned drivers in windows parameters.
So, i followed the tutorial, again.
I configured SP flash tool, clicked download, and then connected powered off P8000 with USB.
But, again, the phone displays recharging logo, and flash tool still waiting...
The phone is recharging so the USB is working, so i don't know how to make my PC detect the phone......
Is there a way or a thing that i missed?
thank you..
EDIT: i finally got a timeout error from flashtool..
I missed something, but what !? i can't remove P8000 battery, is there somthing to do to get it detected by windows?
Like a boot mode, or a magic formula... i'm open
For MTK Driver installation:
Did you follow skeletons Guide? http://forum.xda-developers.com/elephone-p8000/help/guide-windows-10-mtk-vcom-usb-drivers-t3264884
I'm sorry to say, that I do not have any experience with windows installation, this problem, because SPFlash tool performes on my 64bit Linux very well, without any driver trouble.
Cheers
Hi,
I'm on windows 8.
I used SP_driver_v2.0, that is an .exe
it's the only driver tips gived in most of tutorial
I allowed unsigned drivers installation, and i correctly installed it.
I tried too use flashtool before and after restarting the PC-> no changes
Flashtool doesnt detect the phone
I start getting crazy..
I have repaired mine, so i'll share

So the simple way to solve it is flashing the latest stock elephone p8000 ROM, which you can find on google easly
1. as described on other forums, you have to install the adnroid drivers, then get the sp flash tool, and have an un-zipped stock elephone p8000 ROM.
2. if you are stuck at bootloop, do the following to power off the phone so you can flash the ROM
1. Long press power button until power off
2.Do it fast--Press volume Up and then hold power button
3. choose recovery (volume up choose menu, volume down enter)
4. android logo with red triangle is displayed( "no command")
5. hold power button and press volume up
You're in recovery mode
3. select power off
4. open the SP flash tool >go to download tab>opne "scatter loading"( you will find it in the Folder where you unzipped the stock elephone p8000 ROM, if you have more folders there, chose "firmware" folder)
5. on the left side, under scatter loading, you will find a "pull-down" tab - it will be written "download" chose "firmware upgrade" or "upgrade"
6. start the process, then connect your elephone p8000 (it must be powere off) via usb cable to the PC, the process will start, and in less then 5 Minutes you have a factory new Elephone p8000 with the latest good update
7. WATCH OUT- it will erase all your data, absolutely all your data on the phone, except SIM and SD card.
Hope it helped, if not, feel free to ask me =)
Hello,
I have similar problem. Bought P8000 5 days ago. Did update today. Bricked. Stuck at logo ... I tried to flash but SP flush tool but the process isn't starting. When I downloaded ROM I received long list as on the screenshot: kaczorowscy.name/Screenshot.png
I have ubuntu - I see lsusb and dmesg see the phone (it is shut down from recovery menu) but maybe I am missing something ....
Ok here is what id did:
1. Get SP flashtool
2. get newest stock ROM
3. Shut down phone through android recovery menu (start phone with holding volume up, select recovery mode, wait for dead android, hold volume up and unblock button for 3 sec.)
4. Open SP flashtool - use "format all + download" of ROM (unzip and select scatter file from rom) - click start
5. Connect shut downed phone
6. Dot OK! from flashtool
PS. Flashing removed IMEIs - they are both written on the battery - you need to use android service menu to check them with special codes and reboot the phone.
Thanks ALL! :good:

When I was trying to root my p8000 I couldn't flash a custom recovery, fortunately I discovered that to access recovery on stock android you need to go to the screen with the android and "no command"/"no order" text and hold down Vol+Up and Power for 3~ seconds and then release power, this will boot you into recovery mode, If wiping cache/factory reset isn't enough "fastboot flash recovery <image>.img" SHOULD work now
hope this helped

Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 7 Kids T2105 T-2105 can't access recovery mode

I have three (3) Samsung Galaxy Tab Kids T2105 tablets. All are running the latest firmware, T2105UEAOE1.
None of them will boot into recovery. The tabs work, they will boot normally, and then will boot into Download mode. But they will not boot into recovery.
* If I hold down Power+VolUp+Home, or Power+VolUp, continuously, the Tab turns on, and then, about 5 seconds later, turns back off.
* If I hold down Power+VolUp+Home, or Power+VolUp, and release them when the Samsung Logo appears, the device boots normally.
* If I hold down Power+VolUp+Home, or Power+VolUp, and release Power when the Samsung Logo appears, and then continue to hold VolUp and/or Home, the device sits on the Samsung Logo for 20 seconds, then the screen goes blank for a second, then the logo comes back on and sits for 20 seconds, then the screen goes blank... and this cycle repeats until I release the buttons, at which point the device boots normally.
I have done factory resets (through the normal mode settings menus). I have reflashed the latest firmware with Odin3. Nothing seems to fix this problem.
I've been searching the net for hours for this. I see a number of other people who have reported this problem. But nobody has offered a solution. One person stated that he uses "adb reboot recovery" - which is a fine, if ugly, hack - but the fact remains that, for many people, apparently, Stock Android Recovery is not accessible from the Samsung Galaxy Tab Kids T2105.
Does anyone know of an actual solution for this, to restore recovery functionality to this tablet?
Hello,
I have the same tablet, same problem (no stock recovery). None of the button combinations work, and the logo just keeps repeating. My situations is that my 9 yr old daughter locked herself out and can't remember her lock screen password. It's a totally stock tablet (never been rooted or flashed). Because I can't get into the tablet, I'm not sure what firmware version it has, and it does not have USB debugging enabled.
I tried booting into the stock recovery to do a factory reset (since we can't do it in the Settings). I tried flashing the same firmware you mentioned using Odin. It goes through the motions successfully and reboots. But it boots back to the lock screen and its still "locked" (we still see her personal wall paper) - which tells me the flash is not taking. Even though my Odin set up is fine, it does not work (even though everything passed with green lights). I tried going into Safe Mode to try bypassing the lock screen, but even in Safe Mode it still asks for the password. My thinking was to go into Settings and initiate a new password or do a factory reset.
(BTW - the Safe Mode button combination was different for me. Holding Power + Volume Up did not work. Instead I had to hold Power + Volume Up & Down until the logo showed up. Once the logo disapeared, then I had to let go of the Power button only - but continue holding the Volume Up & Down until it fully booted into Safe Mode).
I tried ADB in order to use a password reset/erase command line. But because the USB debugging is not enabled, ADB doesn't see the tablet. There is no other way to enable it via Odin or ADB. And I can't even sideload any Lock Screen Hack apps becuase the table is not rooted, or not USB debugging enabled, or can't get into recovery to flash an .apk or image.
So I am stuck. Why would Samsung block recovery mode??? I have been trying for more than 8 hours. If anyone can help, me and my 9 yr old daughter will greatly appreciate it. My last attempt will be to try Google Device Manager and see if it can somehow unlocks it. Or try Kies (although everything I have read so far says that these have not worked either).

Hello,
I'm not sure which one of these did the trick for me, but I was able to get into recovery mode. I'm not sure if your three tables are rooted or not, but I don't think it matters. Try these two methods:
Method #1:
Technically, I think I just stumbled on to this one after successfully completing Method #2 (below). But it's worth trying it first before moving on to Method #2.
-Hold the Home + Volume Up + Power buttons together at the same time (just like the normal process).
-Now, you will probably need to try this next step a couple of time before you get it right. This is because it happens pretty fast and you need to time it perfectly.
-Notice that when the screen turns on, the actual first thing that happens is that the the screen backlight turns on and glows first. This happens first and a split second later the first Samsung logo flashes.
-You need to let go of all three buttons at the same time as soon as you see the backlight turn on, but before the Samsung logo flashes.
This is the sweet spot, and it happens pretty fast. But once you do it at the right time, the tablet will go black again and then the recovey mode will show up. It works for me every time.
Method #2:
I thought somehow the recovey mode portion of the firmware had become corrupter somehow. So I decided to flash a custom recovery using Odin (since at that time I hadn't stumbled onto Method #1 yet). Make sure to use gr8nole's custom recovery version for the SM-T210 and SM-T210R (these are the equivalent wifi versions of our Kids tablet). His versions have fixed some known bugs that CWM/TWRP have with the wifi version of our tablets. Make sure to download and flash the CWM or TWRP .tar file for Odin (I personally have always liked CWM over TWRP).
Here is his link: http://gr8nole.blogspot.com/
Also mentioned here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2437219
-Make sure you have all the correct USB drivers for the tablet installed on your computer.
-Open Odin and load the .tar file that you downloaded from gr8nole into the PDA or AP slot (depending on your Odin version).
-Let Odin check the m5d verification for successful authorization.
-Once Odin is ready, then boot the tablet into Download Mode (Home + Volume Down + Power button)
-Connect the table to a USB cable that is attached to your computer's main USB port.
-Odin should now recognize that the table it connected to a valid COM port.
-Click <Start> button on Odin and it should flash the costum recovey .tar file pretty quickly.
-The tablet will simultaneously flash a progress bar and start to automatically reboot (also pretty quickly).
-Disconnect the tablet from the USB cable now.
If the tablet does not automatically reboot to the new custom recovery screen, then just power off the tablet completely. Wait 30 seconds, and then boot the table to recovery mode use the Method #1 shown above. You should now be able to go into the new custom recovery mode you flashed with Odin (CMW or TWRP). It should all work now.
From this point you can download and install SuperSU to add root (if you want to).
Let me know if this works for you.

A bit harder than a soft brick

Hello everyone! So... I rooted my ZE551ML when I got it about a month ago and today an update pop-up from Asus shows up. So I said "what could go wrong?" .... How about everything?? Basically, I tried a bunch of different things because I could access via ADB, so I tried to unroot it with a bat file I found with a guide for that, but nothing. Now, I passed from black boot screen with white logo to white boot screen with black logo and I can't connect it with adb nor recovery mode. Is there something I can do to enter recovery? With the normal "volumeUP+power" I get nowhere. Can anybody help?

How do I start fastboot mode? I let it charge all night and my pc does the "device connected/disconnected" sound all of the time, but adb says no device (the drivers are ok, I tried before). I have to say that I tried to flash boot.img, droidboot.img, recovery.img and system.img. Problem is, while I was downloading those files I found 2 other methods for recover it, one was to unroot it and the other to unlock the bootloader.... And I tried. Now, I'm unable to enter recovery.
Edit: I tried this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/zenfone2/general/guide-brick-soft-hard-bricked-zenfone-2-t3284256 and for a short period of time (about a second or 2) I can see another device under the "Intel SOC" in device manager, but xFTSK cannot see the phone, even when it shows up for just a second on device manager.
Edit2: holding power down and plugging in the usb cable allows xFSTK to see my device, I put in the files and begin downloading, everything is going good but then it says
07:24:01 - XFSTK-LOG--Windriver Error: 0xC0000011, HC status: The host controller has set the Transaction Error (XactErr) bit in the transfer descriptor's status field
And from there it just starts all over again until it fails definetly.
Edit3: I'm trying the hell out of this software. I attach 2 logs to this post with relatives configurations. Still waiting for help.

Any chance to recover a dead Philips 48PFS8109/12?

Hi,
my Philips 48PFS8109/12 made problems for a long time already when trying to power it on: it needed several attempts to cut off the power, reconnect the power and let it try to boot, cut off the power and reconnect again, etc.
Sometimes it entered the famous boot loop, sometimes it freezed, showing the Philips logo on screen, sometimes it only enabled the Philips logo on the camera and the screen remained black.
Over time it got worse: the more and more power cycles were needed to let it successfully boot.
But now it seems to be dead forever: most of the times it remains black now, only sometimes the logo appears on screen and I didn't managed to get it to boot successfully again.
Repair costs are around 500€ and would result in different features, due to no availability of the original hardware.
I tried everything I found on the internet to try to recover it:
- Let it boot to safe mode, a) using the joystick button on the back with pressing it in every direction and directly for over a minute when connecting the power, b) using the remote control OK and power buttons for the same time
- Let it boot from a FAT USB stick containing a) the wipe data tool, b) the firmware upgrade package, either in root directory, or in an "upgrades" subdirectory
- Connect it via USB A-to-A cable, and try to connect to it via "adb" command
Nothing helped/worked.
Problem is, that I am unable to enable any developer settings, as I am unable to get it running at all.
Question to the community: is there any other possibility to rescue the device (e. g. access the Android storage without the need to power it on, any secret way to clean the internal storage via hardware access/shortcut of some contacts)?
Its such a pity, the other hardware is so excellent, its just the Android system (or what Philips degenerated it to) that prevents the system from running.
Any help greatly appreciated.
Hello,
I had the same problem, let me explain what I do :
- Unplug power cable. Boot to safe mode using the joystick button on the back only with down arrow (without pressing it)
- Wipe data partition
- Flash the rom
- Flash android with the last update
- reboot

Hi,
thank you for your answer. As I wrote, I already tried this in the past.
But I tried it again now and it still doesn't works. I hold the button for approx. 15 minutes, but it does not boot into safe mode. It only shows the Philips logo after some times, then goes black again. At the beginning it took long a time to first show the logo (approx. 1,5 minutes) and the logo was diplayed approx. 8 seconds, then later on the cycles got shorter and shorter. At the end, the logo was displayed for a second only.
Does s. o. knows if it is possible to just use the display? E. g. take some old Android hardware and connect it to the display only?
I don't want to throw this thing away, as the hardware is so excellent.... :cyclops:
Hi,
maybe the hardware upgrade kit is a solution for you:

Hi and thanks for these informations.
This definitely is an option for me!
I already visited a certified Philips repair center and they offered me to replace the hardware which costs approx. 500 € all in all. I asked them for giving me the hardware to let me replace it on my own, but they denied it in answering that the new hardware has to be programmed, which is too complicated for an end user.
Using your informations, I will evaluate if this would be a doable approach for me.
Hi,
this "programming" is very easy... just putting 2 files on USB and start the TV... And 500 EUR is way to much... you should get it below 300 EUR.

Which Combination file for T830XXU5CUE2?

Hello,
I bought a "bricked" Galaxy Tab S4 on ebay. The only info I got was, that it is stuck in a bootloop since the last automatic update.
The bootloop is similar to this one. The tablet starts with the Samsung logo, then nothing happens and after a while I end up in recovery mode. Further, if I restart or hardreset the tablet, the screen stays black. The only way to boot it up again is to empty the battery while it is stuck in the bootloop. Afterwards I can enter download mode by holding "vol up and down" and plugin the usb cable.
In download mode this text appears at the bottom left:
#reboot recovery cause [unknown]
API: 3
manual mode 1.0.0
(Similar to this thread.)
OEM lock is on and of course I can't change this being stuck in the bootloop, or can I?
I successfully flashed the stock rom T830XXU5CUE2 with Odin3_v3.14.4 and latest samsung drivers. Unfortunately it does not help or fix anything. (I used virtualbox, but it worked and said "PASS" at the end).
After some research I would like to try my luck with a combination rom, but I can't find a U5 version which I should use because of T830XXU5CUE2, is that correct?
Any ideas how I could proceed from here? With OEM lock I guess there is no chance to flash TWRP on it?
