The humble folks at Xda helped me out with the rooting. Now I want to add some custom ROMs for my Moto Defy. Anybody well versed with the topic please leave a reply. As of now, I know that I've to install Clockwork ROM Manager from the Android Market. Any knowledge that I have after that is pretty edgy. Please help me out. Thanks.
Hi I'm not sure if I'm poasting I'm right place. I'm a new member to xda.
I have allot of experience in installing custom roms and rooting all my phones. I have recently bought a symphony explorer w92
And have accomplished rooting my device but now when i comes to installing cwm i cant install cwmr or twrp and I can't find any custom rom's online. my question is is there any custom roms out there or could anyone point me to the right direction for help building a rom for it from scratch so i can build one and add it for other users:highfive:. all in all the phone was a good bye duel cim card quad core prosesser and expandable 32 gb storage:fingers-crossed: thanks for taking time to read this post and i look forward to being part of the team and helping out if possible thank you:victory:.
Nah man. Couldn't find any custom rom or custom recovery for w92. You should just stick to stock with Xposed. Development dekhe next time phone kinio.
Hit thanks please! I'm working hard helping.
I am a noob with android, I used to own an iphone, now I have a note 4 and nexus 7 2013, however the rooting process is confusing for me, a few questions
What is TWRP (and how do I put it on my tablet, App?)
difference between Kernel and ROM (and how to implement each)
chainfire doesn't have a nexus 7 2013 5.0.2 lollipop listed as compatible, is it rootable? (What tool to use?)
what should I stay away from when rooting so I don't brick my nexus 7

Have you tried looking into some of this stuff yourself yet? These are very basic questions that can be answered by Googling, or by reading the sticky threads. I'll give you some quick answers but I highly suggest you try and learn as much as you can by yourself first, and then come back with more specific questions. Members of XDA are more inclined to help when we see that you've put in at least some effort to help yourself first. Anyway-
TWRP is a custom recovery and it is what allows you to flash custom ROMs, kernels and various other zips. It is also what you use to make nandroid backups, which is something you're going to want to do before you flash ANYTHING at all.
A kernel is the part of the OS that allows the software to communicate with the hardware. Custom kernels can increase performance, potentially get you better battery life, and also allow you to overclock, undervolt, etc...
A ROM is essentially the operating system of your tablet. There are a bunch of custom ROMs available and they all have their own set of features, themes, etc... Check out the development section and read some of the ROM threads and you can see what some of our wonderful developers have cooked up.
Don't use any tool to root your Nexus. In fact, don't use any tool for anything. If someone recommends to use a toolkit for something, don't. You're going to want to learn how to use fastboot. Read the stickied guides in general, they have all the info you need on rooting, you'll find it is actually quite simple.
Stay away from flashing anything that isn't specifically for your device, or that hasn't been tested on your device. Make regular nandroid backups. Nexus phones and tablets are incredibly easy to mod, and incredibly difficult to brick. If you use a little common sense when doing things, you'll be just fine.
Hope this helps.
Hello. I just bought an mi 6 and absolutely love it. It's got miui 10 and Android 8.0 installed and it's all up to date. I'm overwhelmed with the possibilities and options for changing and modding the device I don't know where to start.
I wanted to ask what people thought of must do things to tweak, add, mod etc are?
I'm a novice but am capable of rooting and installing custom ROMs and I'll definitely want to install a gcam port at some point.
I'm assuming installing a custom rom will be the go too, just wanted to ask the community what their thoughts were on working with a fresh mi 6 device.
Thanks in advance.
Hey everyone!
I am following this phone's page in XDA for nore than a month to see if I can flash a nice recovery like Twrp or a custom rom line Lineage OS, but it looks like we are stucked with the stock android version.
So, is there any developer who is trying to build a custom rom to make it usable for our devices? Or are there developers who are trying to make twrp (which is posted in a thread) availible and stable for everyone?
If there are people who are working on this devices, I am ready to become a beta tester for your works. I really can't stand without rooting my phone with a custom rom and twrp. Thanks.
