If you persist keeping it locked, unlock it first, flash k40 firmware, then lock it. Nobody will ever know.

@Corsariio please be informed that changing the firmware/unlocking and locking it would involve the risk of the device getting bricked.
Unless you have backup and are ready for taking that risk, please do not proceed.
the forum is open for discussion, but unless someone has done this personally and worked, there is no guarantee this would work, thus try this at your own risk.
Also if it's only regarding disabling the app drawer you can install any third-party launcher like Nova or MIUI launcher via apk and disable the stock launcher via ADB, which would solve your issue at hand.
Thanks,
Funk Wizard
Disclaimer: Try at your own risk.
First you need to remove rsa resistor then your Poco logo will be turned into Mi, now go to recovery mode and click mi assistant mode and temp unlock bootloader with dftpro, dtpro or egsm tool and flash redmi k40 china rom, now your poco f3 is converted to redmi k40 china.
there is simple way to convert without unlock bootloader, however it has disadvantage. if you do not like the rom for some reason, you can not revert back with same way, you have to unlock bootloader and flash previous rom or wait untill the latest rom released and do same way. as mentioned above, the disclaimer is same
1. Download your installed rom and latest china rom, rename your rom for example Ä.zip, and rename china rom B.zip
2. Open updater application and find A.zip and install it, once updater still checking go back to file manager and rename A.zip become C.zip for example, and rename B.zip become A.zip. by mistake the updater will install china rom instead of your rom.
Do it fast, otherwise the updater will detect the rom not compatible.
Why would I want to convert F3 to K40 at all, I wonder?

SOLVED !!!: My Redmi Note 8 Pro is the Global Version, can I block the bootloader without brick risk after flashing the Indonesian ROM?
Some moderator could support me to move the thread to Redmi Note 8 Pro. Thank you
Edit: Thanks @strongst
I confirm that it is possible to close the bootloader after flashing the Indonesian ROM on a Redmi Note 8 Pro Global. To do this, use the MiFlash application and check the "clean all" option. Do not check the option "clean everything and block" in case there is a problem during or after the fhashing.
After I could confirm the ROM was multilingual and that everything worked fine (wifi, data, bluetooth, nfc, spearkers, etc.), I closed the bootloader, put my device in "fastboot" mode and executed the command "fastboot oem lock ".
Before closing the bootloader I didn't see the Netflix application in the Google Play store, after closing the bootloader there was no problem.

They would really be the same steps for any Xiaomi team, so you just need to search the threads of some model. The only variant would be the ROM you need to download, which in this case It would be for the Redmi Note 8 Pro.
Follow the steps in the following link, everything is detailed, it will be good if you are a beginner. regards

Glad it worked for you! :good:
You probably were on a Global flavor of the phone aside from it having a Global Rom.
However I want to stress for others who may be reading this, that if I am not mistaking, based on posts I have read, if your device HW is Chinese flavor, it is absolutely not recommended to relock bootloader after flashing anything as it WILL result into bricking your device.
Edit:
That's exactly what's being said on the tutorial you provided above and that's where I had read about it actually
Here is the part in question.
Edit 2:
DO NOT RE-Lock the Bootloader if you change from China ROM to Global ROM in China phone. Re-Locking will BRICK your phone. Select only "Clean All" option before flashing.

you have to lock in fastboot mode and make sure your MIUI version is the same as the device. for example your device base version is India and you have to flash it with the Indian version to lock the bootloader and make sure it's correct so it doesn't happen hard brick
Hi all,
First of all please bear with me as I am a total noob when it comes to Android let alone the Redmi Note 8T I have just purchased the phone and now waiting for the 360 hours to expire. Tick tock...
So in preparation I have been looking for ways to flash my phone to the MIUI EEA ROM (I have a global version running global ROM). I know MIFlash should be able to do the trick, but it seems to me there are two types of ROM files - one for the OTA update (i.e. so you would copy the file over to the phone, then use the system update feature within the phone's setting to invoke the update process), and another type of ROM files for use by MiFlash.
Assuming this is true, so far I could only manage to find the OTA update ROM for EEA:
h<spacer>ttp<spacer>:/<spacer>/en.miui.com/download-361.html#588 (sorry new users aren't allowed to post links hence this. Please copy and delete the spacers)
Does anyone know where I could grab a copy of the EEA ROM that I could use with Mi Flash so after my phone eventually gets it bootloader unlocked, I could proceed with the switch from Global to EEA?
Or am I getting this whole concept wrong?
Thanks and cheers !

Use eu, xiaomi.eu
If you willow (Note 8T) choose stable version because willow doesn't have weekly build.
so it must be this link.. https://sourceforge.net/projects/xi...HMNote8T_V11.0.7.0.PCXEUXM_v11-9.zip/download
and you need root and unlocked bootloader to install it via twrp.
Hi All,
New to the forum. A Hi to everyone.
I have bought an Mi 11X in India in very first sale and after setting it up realised it doesn't have Miui dialer and messaging app and instead has Google Dialer and messaging app. Google dialer doesn't save call records beyond 30 days and also doesn't have native call recording option without warning about call getting recorded and I am unable to move messages from my previous Redmi 8 device to this device bcoz of no Miui Messaging app in Mi 11x.
Can someone please suggest how to get Miui Dialer and messaging on my Indian Mi 11x handset. And also let me know how do I unlock bootloader as Miui global forum is blocked in India foe access. Cant access the forum and hence cant place request for bootloader unlock. Please help me. Thanking in advance.
you can record call with Google Dialer or Google Contacts whatever you call that app there's a Magisk module for it just get rooted via Magisk

Its not just about call recording facility. Miui Dialer is more feature rich than google dialer. Like unlimited call history vs 30 days call history. Messaging app is also very user friendly of Miui. I just want a way to get Miui Dialer n Messaging app on my Mi 11x. Either by some apk install or via some other ROM flashing.
im not sure if this helps but maybe you could try installing them from apk mirror, hope the apps work tho.

You get OTA for both EU rom, weekly and stable, but because a working recovery to handle that is not yet available we still have to do it manualy via fastboot.
Accept it for some time or stand by.

Everything is automatic once you first installed EU rom.
Bootloader stays unlocked until you relock it with MIFLASH rom.
Your data are going to be erased by force because you need to format data at first install and only here. Make them backed up.
I have successfully unlocked my device and have downloaded Miui 12.5 HMK40 ROM from xiaomi.eu forum and setup phone in fastboot mode and extracted the fastboot miui 12.5 ROM and ran the file "windows_fastboot_first_install_with_data-format".
The command prompt windows launched and I entered Y to proceed installation of ROM. Its been more than 30 minutes and I am stuck at "sending sparse super 4/7 (775048kb)"

Faced errors multiple times but after trying to flash three to four times and changing USB port, I was successful in installing the ROM. Thank you to the community for help and for encouraging to try installing the ROM.
My last genuine query, sorry if I have been too curious about things. I have successfully installed EU ROM. Now
1) Can I lock the bootloader again and whenever there is an update just flash it without the need to unlock bootloader again??
2) Say a Recover ROM gets released in near future, do I have to again flash it a New?? I mean complete format? Or can I just upgrade to it without loosing data and without full format??

You have better to boot latest TWRP and install EU zip with it.
Just check the digest file in the rom zip if it take care not to reject aliothin (your phone).
That's what I did on F3 .
Great rom for my today use.
EDIT: You can NOT lock your bootloader under EU rom, you need to flash an official fastboot rom via MIFLASH.
Take care to flash the same region rom as your phone was first.
But, Stay unlocked that's better if you can.

Thank you bonerserk for the reference link
First of all I'm not a pro, so do it with your own risk. But, I knew few things since I've changed my Rom back and forth using ID ROM, EU, CN, and many others Custom Rom.
In response of ur questions:
1 & 3. I recommend using Mi Flash Tool. Download the tool, and the required ROM (the FASTBOOT one, since you want to use the ID ROM, there's only 12.5.6 version for the FASTBOOT Rom) using the thread link provided by @bonerserk follow the instructions CAREFULLY.
2. Didn't know the answer.
4. It depends on ur needs. If you just want to remove the Chinese Bloatware, then the Global Rom is suitable since it has less Chinese bloatware.
Thanks, @the.ogeph for the response - After reading the Flashing method come to know Xiaomi implement Anti Rollback features in Some Model - also in Mi11X I didn't get a three-dot option (Additional Features) on Settings->About Phone - Where Some Model has this option - Now I am confused is Mi11X has implemented this features or not? If I Try and stuck due to Anti Rollback then there is no solution available as of now.
Which Device do you have? I didn't find any Mi11X owner who tried this
That's why I recommend you to use Miflash tool. You could bypass the ARB Protection by editing the (.bat) file line command. Just google it or watch tutorial on Yt.
Please follow the instruction really carefully. I've soft bricked my phone once because I skipped 1 step.

xiaomi.EU rom is a custom rom based on miui, so you need to unlock bootloader to install it and it didnt use miflash official tool to flash
But I have watched lots of videos where people change Xiaomi ROM with the different regions such as Global to EU, Indonesia, China with the locked bootloaders - for Only Mi11X not able to find any Source
Hello my friends,
I just bought the Chinese version of the IQOO 9 Pro, and I like it very much, but I have some issues with it which I didn't expect, like Google services doesn't update automatically, Android Auto doesn't work at all, part of the software is in Chinese and more..
So I decided I want to flash the global (or India) ROM, and as I understand it requires root access. So I know what it is and all the meanings of this, but I never rooted a phone and I'm afraid I don't know what to do, how to do it and mainly what to do after the device is rooted in order to flash the global ROM.
I saw some walkthroughs on the web, but I'm not sure it's exactly what I'm looking for in my case.
for example, I saw this one: Vivo Iqoo 9 Pro PD2172F Firmware Flash File (Stock ROM Guide)
But I'm not sure if it will work on my Chinese phone (PD2172C).
Maybe this one is more relevant ?
How To Install Custom Rom On Vivo IQOO 9 Pro
I mean, can I treat the official global ROM as a "custom ROM" and use this method ?
Any help with what exactly I should do to change the ROM will be very appreciated.
Thanks!

Yea, yea .. first and foremost you have to unlock bootloader and after that you can istall global (India) ROM. You do not root the ROM. The simple problem is how to unlock the bootloader because Vivo does not permit to do it.
