my german bought 6 pro does not fully work in my country(5g, volte and so on). I am planning on giving it to my sister who lives in the U.S. Will everything work there correctly? Will the google features work?
Should work fine. All the Pixels run the same firmware these last few months.
European models do not have a mmWave antenna. Major carriers in the US use that.

No need for 5g. It destroys the battery life on the 6 pro, from what I have read. Just need carrier aggregation, volte, vowifi and the pixel features to work.

Major carriers (plural) or just Verizon?

Even if the phone does lack the capability to use 5G, it'll still work on 4G just fine. I haven't bothered to have a 5G plan yet.

I'm not sure. I always associate it with Verizon but perhaps other carriers use it as well. The rollout has been quite confusing now with C band in the mix..

No, that's exactly why it will NOT work.
Short version of the answer: LTE on F180x will NOT work outside of Korea. End of story.
Long version of the answer: do some search in Optimus G forums here on XDA, starting from FAQ and differences between models, and further into F180x -> E975 conversion options. There are literally tons of info on the specifics of the problem.

Like I said, try searching -- it all has been discussed before... With my limited knowledge of the LTE technology, I understand that, even though the band may be the same (1800), the actual working frequencies are still different and incompatible. I am not sure what is going to happen soon on your carrier's network, but so far F180x LTE only working in Korea seems to be the fact of life...

No it cannot be. There is no sim slot at all. You may be able to put it on straight talk or pageplus, but I have no idea if you could put it on any other cdma network. To my knowledge most other countries use gsm over cdma.
The only one I know that does allow sprint devices, is ting

Freedom pop is garbage. It's all voip. Even with strong 4g, the call quality is terrible, and it all barely works. Ting is the only one that's a normal service.

I agree, but some people don't talk on the phone much... Just throwing it out there, especially because they are the only ones to have a completely free plan.

True. But ting scales depending on your usage. Although I wish it was unlimited everything.. Just can't afford a new $300 unlocked phone to go to another company. So stuck with ting

Unfortunately not possible, and I really tried. Wind Mobile uses WCDMA Band 4 (B4) which is not enabled by default. Additionally, even if you enable B4 in NVRAM using debug mode, it still does not become available indicating that the modem firmware itself excluded that functionality. Very disappointing.

What is a provider around the same price with same features that would be good to switch to then?
Get a plan with Mobilicity. They are own by Rogers now and using the 850/1900 band. Public Mobile (Telus) has a decent plan, 12GB data, unlimited voice within province, unlimited text...$40/month renewed every 3 months. Or go the 711 SpeakOut (for voice) and TBaytel (for 3G data) route. Requires more research but works.

Order a sim from their website. When it arrives, activate or port over your number on the website. Takes 5-10mins.

Yes, during the plan selection, there is an option to get a new # or port over your old one. Enter your old number and the pin associated with accessing the account and the system does the rest.
The pin? Like the pin to log into my wind account?

Also is it possible to enable the rest of the bands like North America Varient?
same question.
I do have this same question
I'm positive that the indian version might not have the physical antennas for 5g built inside, the north American does because apparently 5G is so important that every new phone in America needs it. Im guessing its the same thing like with the International version of the Galaxy Note 21 where they don't have the 5G antennas and the North America does but they sell them the same price no matter what.
But who knows I could be wrong

You need a 5g plan enabled sim and you should ask your provider if they have 5g coverage in your area.
If 5g is enabled in your phone. You shud select 5g in network type. Also options like Smart 5G will be enabled in settings. The sim should be in sim slot 1 if dual sim phone.

Google Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro are not yet 'fully certified' to use Verizon's faster C-Band 5G
While the hardware is compatible, Verizon says the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro aren't quite ready for C-Band 5G, lacking "full certification."
