I've just taken the 4.4.4 OTA update and it went on fine. I've just tried to boot a recovery image with fastboot and it simply rebooted the phone.
Code:
fastboot boot philz_touch_6.26.6-m8.img
responds with
Code:
downloading 'boot.img'...
OKAY [ 1.277s]
booting...
OKAY [ 0.016s]
finished. total time: 1.294s
and then just boot as normal after a delay of 5 or 6 seconds. Do I need a special recovery for the GPE?

Have you tried the newest version of Philz Touch? philz_touch_6.43.6-m8.img See if maybe it works better. If it still doesn't boot maybe discuss the issue in the official thread [m8][CWM Advanced Edition] PhilZ Touch see if Phil can help you with a solution.
Can you flash the image? If so, it could be that boot is disabled on the GPe (which would be weird but not unheard of with HTC phones)
Solved
Appears I was using a recovery image that was too old. Once philz_touch_6.26.6-m8.img was replaced with the latest philz_touch_6.43.6-m8.img it all worked fine.
Thanks.
Alright guys I have never been able to flash any kernel on this phone at all. It always gets stuck on bouncing dots or sends me back to TWRP, Any suggestions? Here is how I flashed:
My steps to get TWRP + v4 Root + ElementalX v08 kernel all working together.
------------------
fastboot boot boot.img
Code:
C:\Users\xx\AppData\Local\Android\sdk1\platform-tools>fastboot boot boot.img
downloading 'boot.img'...
OKAY [ 0.673s]
booting...
OKAY [ 0.870s]
finished. total time: 1.543s
<phone automatically reboots to OS>
Booted phone to downloader mode.
Code:
C:\Users\xx\AppData\Local\Android\sdk1\platform-tools>fastboot boot twrp1.im
g
downloading 'boot.img'...
OKAY [ 0.640s]
booting...
OKAY [ 0.911s]
finished. total time: 1.551s
<phone automatically reboots to TWRP>
TWRP installed twrp zip.
Rebooted to TWRP.
TWRP installed v4 root.
Booted to OS
Verified root is working properly.
Booted phone to downloader mode.
fastboot flash kernel elementalx-0.08.zImage
Code:
C:\Users\xx\AppData\Local\Android\sdk1\platform-tools>fastboot flash kernel
elementalx-0.08.zImage
target reported max download size of 536870912 bytes
sending 'kernel' (19538 KB)...

fastboot reboot
Code:
C:\Users\xx\AppData\Local\Android\sdk1\platform-tools>fastboot reboot
rebooting...
finished. total time: 0.050s
Noticed root was not working.
Rebooted to TWRP
TWRP installed v4 root.
Rebooted back to OS.
Root + kernel + TWRP all installed and working fine.
Followed these instructions to a T and got everything working minus the kernel but when I flash any kernel I get pushed back to recovery? For some reason I have never been able install a kernel....... Any ideas I have not been able to flash a kernel since I got this phone. Any suggestions as to why or what I could try?
I believe its
Fastboot flash boot_b or boot_a boot.img look in fastboot mode which boot slot you have a or b
So I have been trying to flash the Pixel Factory Image, I have used the most recent SDK Platform Tools and I still can't get past the boot loop. I also have tried to flash the TWRP recovery but I am getting this:
Code:
C:\Users\MyName\Documents\Pixel\minimal_adb_fastboot_1.4.3_portable>fastboot flash recovery twrp-3.3.0-0-sailfish.img
target reported max download size of 536870912 bytes
sending 'recovery' (31000 KB)...
OKAY [ 0.828s]
writing 'recovery'...
(bootloader) Flashing active slot "_b"
FAILED (remote: partition [recovery] doesn't exist)
finished. total time: 0.938s
I have even tried but the bootloop is still there:
Code:
PS C:\Users\MyName\Documents\Pixel\minimal_adb_fastboot_1.4.3_portable> ./fastboot boot twrp-3.3.0-0-sailfish.img
downloading 'boot.img'...
OKAY [ 0.727s]
booting...
OKAY [ 1.010s]
finished. total time: 1.740s

Dear all,
I'd like to install LineageOS on my Xiaomi Mi 10 Lite (monet).
I'm following the instructions here : https://wiki.lineageos.org/devices/monet/install.
Everything is going well until step "fastboot flash recovery <recovery_filename>.img".
I type "fastboot flash recovery <recovery_filename>.img" and everything seems to be good.
Sending 'recovery' (131072 KB) OKAY [ 4.907s]
Writing 'recovery' OKAY [ 0.571s]
Finished. Total time: 5.484s
But my phone does not power down. And when I try to reboot into the recovery mode (Volume Up + Power), the fastboot screen appears instead of recovery mode.
I also try with "fastboot boot <recovery_filename>.img".
Sending 'boot.img' (131072 KB) OKAY [ 5.044s]
Booting OKAY [ 0.154s]
Finished. Total time: 5.266s
The phone turns off and I reboot into recovery mode with success. I apply "Wipe Data" and go back to Main Menu after, as described.
But I don't find the "Apply Update" option.
Thank you for your help.

I downloaded and used platform tools as described in LineageOS Wiki. And then, I used windows cmd for the adb and the fastboot commands.

You are using the wrong command bro, don't use boot. Use "fastboot flash recovery twrp_recovery.img". Why are you flashing recovery.img as boot bro?
OK guys I've found my mistake. I thought the model of my phone was Monet. But it's not. It's Toco... A stupid error showing that I have to be more rigorous.
I thank you again for your help. All the best for xda.
See you
Looking for a custom recovery I found this page where it contains a TWRP that is supposedly compatible with the Moto G20.

I did not want to risk trying it since I do not know much about this and what can happen if it is not correct. Someone to solve my doubt? or know of a compatible custom recovery? Gracias. :XX
Hey!
I tried booting directly into twrp in fastboot mode using ./fastboot boot twrp recovery.img and get this:
Sending 'boot.img' (26460 KB) OKAY [ 0.688s]
Booting OKAY [ 0.000s]
Finished. Total time: 0.717s
But the Phone only restarts into normal Motorola OS.
