Backup Sony Xperia Z1 Compact D5503 (Forgotten Unlock Pin) - Xperia Z1 Compact Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello everyone, I wanted to ask the most experts in the smartphone field if it was possible to backup the data of a Sony Xperia z1 compact mod. D5503, which I found after years that I had left it and forgotten it in the "old things", consequently I do not remember and I have no idea what the unlock PIN that I set at the time could be. I tried to do some research already where for example there is the option "forgot password" after a few errors in entering the pin ... But nothing to me there is no way to recover this password. So I wanted to ask all of you if it was possible at least to make a backup of the data present and then proceed with a hard reset and then make it usable again. In the meantime, thank you in advance.

[Q] Help boot unlocked and rooted xperia play not starting

I am new to this rooting stuff
I boot unlocked and rooted my Xperia play i flasht with a kernel and then it stucks on the Sony Ericsson logo. what to do?
Well you could try reflashing the kernel, but we need a little more information on what exactly happened leading up to it. Another option is just to use flashtool to reflash your phone. If you havent used flashtool before you can use this tutorial:
http://www.theandroidsoul.com/tutorial-how-to-flash-a-firmware-using-flashtool-on-xperia-arc/
Just keep in mind thats for the arc, the steps are the same, you just need to grab a .ftf thats made for the Play. You can find those in the dev section.
*EDIT* Make sure to uncheck "clear user data" unless you have everything backed up. Its generally a good idea to clear user data on a new flash but I'd hate for you to lose your data if its not backed up
I fixed it on my own way. But i will give you a thanks anyway

I can't encrypt my GS3.. HelpPlz

I am trying to encrypt my sprint GS3 but the encrypting is not working at all.
I made sure the battery is %100 full. I create a good password of letters and numbers. I select encrypt device and wait for it to finish and reboot. After all that, the device reboots like normally and doesn't ask for password in boot menu.
Only when the phone comes to the home screen does it ask for password to unlock the screen.
Right now I have on it the stock android 4.3 rooted.
My encryption used to work fine before on android 4.2 but I forgot to unencrypted the device before upgrading and I think that's what broke the encryption system.
I don't know what other details I need to include here. I have searched google but I couldn't find any posts that describe my situation.
Please Help.
Thank you!

Restore point not working - incompatible software versions - downgrade?

I was to turn in my phone (Sony Xperia Z1 compact) for a warranty issue (battery acting up). The guy in the store told me there would be a factory reset at the service point so I went home, used the built in Sony approved "Backup & Restore" app (with current experience - DO NOT USE IT!!!). To be safe I created 3 different restore points (just in case) and stored to my SD card. I backed up everything, contact list, messages, photos etc using the sony app. To be extra safe I did install the google + app to backup my contact list (wich of course also failed, it only backup up 6 of my ~500 contacts, don´t ask me why).
Got the phone back today. Battery replaced (nice!). Software upgraded - Didn´t ask for that but lets see. Went home. Popped in my SD card with my restore points, selected to restore and got the message: "Cannot restore - Selected backup records cannot be used du to incompatible software versions. Please select a more recent backup file". After searching the internet and spending an hour chatting with the sony support it seems I´m pretty much screwed. That (useless) app appears to ONLY be working if used on the exact same phone model with the exact same OS version.
The guy at Sony tells me that the only way to handle this is to unlock the boot loader wich will void my warranty. I asked if it was possible to just pull the contacts and messages from the backup file but no, according to him that app stores the backup up stuff in a non-typical way wich is impossible to reach unless you have the correct version on the phone.
It seems like there are a lot of smartheads in this forum, does anyone have an idea on how to either pull the vital data from the backup or any other idea? The boot loader unlock option is not very tempting since it will void my warranty, not give me automatic updates in the future and on top of that there is a risk I´ll screw up my phone for good.
As a last comment, it would have been nice if the App informed you about the fact that it would only work on the same OS-version, that would for sure have made me think twice and made at least one backup using another system but no. I found threads about this as early as december 2013, still users will continue to loose all their data. A simple popup with that information would save a lot of people a lot of headache.

Which fw version were you on? I'm sure you could find an ftf and flash with Flashtool...
I contacted Sony and they said it was using 14.4.A.0.157 but they colud not say if that was the version when sent to service or if it was the version it was shipped with as brand new.
I´d like to avid flashing my phone but I got and old phone from the store to try to restore it on (of course it did not work right on) but that is another model. I was free to experiment on that old phone to see if I could restore my data but do you guys think it would be possible? It is another phone model after all (still an Xperia though).
Thanks in advance.

Use Flashtool and flash one of these, then restore - http://forum.xda-developers.com/son...f-xperia-z1-compact-d5503-14-4-0-157-t3118047

Thanks for the help so far but where do I find Flashtool (link) and some info on how to use it? I found lots of threads about flashtool but just a few (with broken links) to where I could find the tool.

Download link on top of page. Install it, download ftf, copy ftf to 'firmware' folder, open Flashtool, click lightning bolt, select 'flash mode', and click on ftf file that should be shown in the box on the screen.
Thanks a lot! Will try that but I´ll be pretty busy the upcoming week so it my take a while but I´ll keep you posted on my progress!

Just lost new phone S5 Neo by FRP

Hello my friends
Im totally disappointed. I just got my S5 Neo from my father. I used factory reset from recovery because phone was very very slow. Everything was ok, but... Phone boots and asks for google account that my father used on the phone, but he don't remember the details of this account (mail name). And im totally in trouble, depressed, i don't know what to do with this phone. Any solutions to bypass this FRP lock?

How to get rid of account verification after wiping a locked Mi Mix 2?

Hello everyone! I hope someone here will be able to help me.
I purchased a new Mi Mix 2 in 2018, and last year I decided to upgrade its ROM to LineageOS. I changed ROMs in the past on other phones so I felt familiar with the process, but this time I made a mistake, and wiped the phone from the stock recovery BEFORE logging out of my old MI account. On restart, the phone now asks me for the account password to proceed.
Unfortunately I don't have access to the Mi account anymore. In fact, I only activated it once with a dummy email, so that MIUI would not bother me every time, and then forgot about it. I did not expect it to still be there after a phone reset.
Now, the login screen on the phone doesn't even give me complete information on which email (or Mi account number) it is set on, so I have no way to trace those back and try to reset the access credentials.
I don't know where that account data is stored on the phone, I wonder if it can be reset somehow? I am a software dev, so don't be afraid of being technical. Some sources I found say it is in a sort of separate partition, but I am afraid it could be in the on-chip keystore instead? Furthermore, I found out about the EDL mode on Qualcomm chips, which seems to be effectively a first-stage bootloader which could be used to access the phone data. Using `fastboot oem edl` however I get a `FAILED (remote: 'Oem edl command is not allowed Lock State')` response, which is quite self-explanatory.
Has anyone tackled this situation before? Is there any hope of recovering my Mi Mix 2?
Thanks to anyone willing to give a hand
