Question front camera failure - Xiaomi Poco F3 / Xiaomi Mi 11X / Redmi K40

Hi,
I got a poco f3 one month ago and my front camera just stopped working... When I click on the switch button it just stay on the rear camera (but the display switch from the rear to the front camera). I tried other app (Whatsapp) and got same issue, I did a factory reset and it still doesn't work.
Is it a hardware issue ? Do you have any other idea ?
Thank you!

Try clearing the cache for the camera? Settings>Application Manager>swipe over to all apps>scroll down to camera>click on it>click clear cache.
if I was you, first I would look into software, like clearing cache, maybe even full reset, if nothing, then I would open the phone and disconnect the cam and clean connector then plug it back. if that still didn't work and I needed front camera I would look to buy new front cam module and replace it, shouldn't cost more than $20 and there are plenty youtube how to videos.
Of course first and most obvious option would be to send it to Samsung under warranty, but just in case that won't work, you do have DIY options.
Also I'm assuming you're not running custom software or tried to update camera firmware with S5 version for example, because that would be obvious and you would mention it at the beginning.

[Solved] LG G3 rear camera autofocus not working properly

Hi,
My treat camera used to work fine, but one day started the autofocus started to fail, and pictures taken are blurry.
I've checked using other camera applications (which don't use the laser focus) but all are having the same issue.
I've ordered a new camera and changed, just to find the same issue.
I've noted that when using the magic mode, the pictures taken can be manually focused and they are good as they used to be.
I've also run the camera test on the hidden menu, and it shows AF failed.
Any idea? Is it possible to calibrate the focus of the camera?
Thanks in advance.

D855 rear camera problem

Hello guys!
I've got a (big) problem with my G3. Rear camera is not detected anymore. Only front camera is working (image is upside-down)
I've tried to reflash the stock firmware, it opened the rear camera but the app crashed, so it didn't worked.
Do you know what can I do to get the rear camera back to life?
Thanks!
Open your phone and check the connection at the motherboard where the camera is.

I will try this as soon as I get the necessary tools.
If I reflash stock rom I can open rear camera for about 1-2 seconds, I can see the image, but it will crash and will end having only portrait mode and no flash.

PM me to help you tear down your phone and not make any mistakes.
Problem solved.
I don't know how, got fixed by itself.
I have to replace battery now because my phone won't start-up without charging (bootloop - 100% not a soft problem).
Thanks!

Same problem here. But i cant remember when it happens after disassembling the phone or after dropping it . I think it's the daughterboard's fault. I'll give you an update after replacing the daughterboard.
curious if there is a way to always force to front camera
I was always curious if you can force to front camera or even have the camera's swapped, so that the back -> front and front -> back.

Front Cam Not Working

For a few months ago, my M30's front camera doesn't work. Sometimes the rear camera works but when I switch to front, the app freezes and then I've got to close it. I tested front camera by dialling *#0*# but it says FAILED!!
Any solution anyone?

I checked just now, it works fine. I tried various angles. Everything works fine. As I asked, it may be due to some hardware trouble or something triggering it.

I read on Samsung Community that a user with the same camera error had to go to service center and had the motherboard changed. I believe it IS a hardware issue

Yup, does sound like hardware issue. Just FYI, Samsung current charges are exorbitant, and they in some countries FORMAT whole data even for smallest of things, irrespective of hardware or software issues (f***ing idiots). So, please beware of the 2 points.
