In Oneplus 5T running Android 10 with stock oxygen OS, I had the option of using volume slider popup to mute notification volume when I wanted to. But in OnePlus 9RT, I cannot do so. It forces me to use a minimum volume which is not zero. In order to tackle this, I have to go to app settings for every app specifically to temporarily change the sound to 'none' so that the notifications popup without making any sound. This is a very tedious process.
How can I enable the old style of using 'no sound' by moving down the volume slider?

I did not get any pop up message about it.
The plastic mute slider on the right side of the phone will turn the ringing of the phone calls to silent too which I don't want.

Are you rooted? Have you tried gravitybox?
Yes the phone is rooted. I have gravitybox installed too! Where to do this magic?

In the keynote, they demo that we can answer or hangup the call straight from the notification.
how do i set that? everytime when i receive a call, the whole screen is being populated with the dialer app and the home button disabled.

They said you can 'hangup' from the notification - not initiate a call. You can also return to your call from the notification.
but there are sample image showing that is possible. (i just rewatch the keynote and realized i remembered it wrong)
but how about this image?

That is a mockup. Notice there is no icon to clear notifications in the top right?
That said...has anyone tried hitting the home button when a call comes in and see if that is where this feature comes in handy? Does it show up in the pull down then?
Are you already using the phone when you get the call? Works for me that way

or maybe we need to wait till mid july for the official release.. then they have it?
Was wondering if anyone seemed to have my problem- my text notification sound is way louder than my S3's normal notification sound. I've looked all over to see if there is a different tweak but I can find it. I'm probably totally missing the obvious here.
Still on stock, btw. Might be something that rooting would fix?
The volume keys are on the left. The lower one (vol-dwn) seems to work for me . No root required. XD

There is a seperate volume for notifications. Once you hit the volume button and the slider appears on the screen, press the gear icon on the right of the slider. That opens up a submenu. You can just turn down the notification sound separately.
If it's just the text notification compared to the other notifications that is too loud then you are SOL. Try picking another sound.

Ever since the 4.3 update, my phone vibrates for almost all notifications that are sent to my phone. This is annoying, especially because in the actual apps (such as twitter and facebook), i have the option set to not vibrate (yet it happens anyway). Anyone else having this issue?
Check System Volume settings.

My entire phone is set to vibrate.
Depending on how you are set up , those do override the application Settings. So turn that to sound for Notifications but put Ringer on vibrate.
You may have to separate Ringer and Notification volumes before you can do that.

Go to Settings > Sound > Volume.
Post a screenshot of what you see.

That's strange, that screen shot is from my T-Mobile S6 Edge.
It's there on mine as well
Looks like you may not be running a T-Mobile Edge, is that correct? Maybe the International Firmware is different.

Has anyone found a work around for the call start/end tones on sm-n920f. Its not an option to remove like it was on the s5 and its bugging me no end.
+1
Settings>Applications>Phone>Call Alerts>Call Status Tones. Hope this helps!
How the heck do you do this? I see the option for changing the ringtone for calls but that's it. Where do you go to change notification sounds? I have the VS986.
Go to settings, sounds and scroll to the bottom and Select more. Notification is at the top
Oh Jesus! So simple. I feel like a knob. Thanks for the help!!
I found this rather quick HOWEVER how the h*ll can I make it Silent! I hate having any noise from my phone other than calls and reminders, but I don't have a silent option. Drives me crazy.
AT&T has the option for silent. It's at the top of the list of notification sounds

I'm on the open 815 EU model and doesn't have this option. Damn.
Make or download a silent ring tone. Stick it in a media folder and reboot your phone. Now you should have the ability to select the tone you made/downloaded.

Yeah I was thinking about doing just that. All my ringtones I have on my SD (MAIN reason I need my external, to take my pictures and sounds with me when I change phones, no more Samsung if they continue the crapple path) do show up with the + sign so I'll just do that. Just weird how the EU open model doesn't even include a silent option. ?
