Hey guys,
I was unlocking the Bootloader successfully and flashing TWRP as well.
STOCK ROM worked well so far.
Then I Wiped System, Vendor, Cache, and Data to flash AICP Rom. This worked as well. Flash was successful in twrp.
But if I reboot into system the devices goes into TWRP - always.
WHAT IS GOING ON HERE? How can I fix that?
best, dj
Ayo!
Fastboot flash recovery another_twrp/orangefox.img
Then fastboot boot recovery.img
Wipe everythingg and format data.
Try flashing another room, and boot!
And profit
Okay thanks, that worked now, AICP and OpenGApps are installed.
Now I get an error with my Magisk.zip file:
"Invalid zip file format"
"Error installing zip file "/sdcard1/Magisk-24.0.zip""
Is this the right link to download Magisk? Or where ca I get it from?
https://github.com/topjohnwu/Magisk/archive/refs/tags/v24.0.zip

The zip you downloaded is the source code not the Magisk v24.0 build. Select Magisk-v24.0 apk file instead.
BTW, flashing Magisk through recovery is not recommended. It is suggested to install Magisk using Patch Boot.img method.

Hello guys,
Today i accidentaly wiped everything through twrp...
Now i dont have an OS. After trying to flash the new OS as zip file through twrp Im getting an Error 7 Message. I have already tried to wipe it all again and editing the update file in the google folder (which is the only fix i can find on Youtube) but it hasnt worked for me.
I have the latest version of twrp and i also downloaded the official ROM from the OnePlus website.
Hopefully someone knows a other fix than just editing the update file.
Thank you!

Go to fastboot.
Flash twrp 3.2.1.0 universal codeworks dumpling.
Make sure you have downloaded the correct OOS zip file to your pc.
Boot into twrp from fastboot by pressing volume key to chose recovery mode.
Just as a precaution chose format data, type 'yes' and press enter.
In twrp, allow MTP.
Transfer the zip to phone.
Flash it.
Done.
I also faced the same problem once and this helped me. If you still have any problem contact me.

I've instlled this "TWRP 3.2.1-moto-e5++-0" on Moto E5 XT-1920-16 (PETTYL) and works! Then successfully flashed Magisk 18.1 and now I have a root.
Thank you!
But now I have a problem. My phone tried to install OTA update and boot into Recovery to complete instalation. But because it's a TWRP the update can't be installed.
Now the phone only boot into TWRP. Can't start the system. Even on TWRP menu -> Reboot -> System then the phone boot again into TWRP. How to fix it?

You need kill the repeating OTA install sequence or, like you reporting, every time you boot into system, OTA installation get triggered and you get caught in the cycle. In TWRP menu, Mount System, go back main menu find your TWRP File Manager. Select System folder, Priv-App, find your OTA app (may be name 3C_OTA or something similar). Go ahead delete it if you don't plan on installing OTA on your device. You can also delete the OTA update zip package to stop your OS from continual trying to install it. In TWRP you need mount Cache, use TWRP File Manager again to open Cache directory, search for the OTA zip package and delete it.

Today I've installed the stock firmware version of Android Oreo 8.0 (the December Update) with Odin.
After that I've installed the TWRP also with Odin, the 3.2.3 version.
Then I wanted to root the devide so I start with the installation of Magisk (because I need to hide the root form some apps like Netflix), but it keeps failing with the ERROR 1. I've searched in this forum but none of the solutions worked. One solution requires the boot.img of the rom, but I can only get a boot.img.lz4 from the AP md5 file which i have no idea how to use.
Then I tried to install SuperSU (v2.82 SR5 version). I followed a guide but once I finished the flash of RMM State Bypass and SuperSU I rebooted only to be locked out of my phone. A message informed me that the integrity of the phone could not be checked (or something like that) and so I had to re-flash the stock firmware and the recovery with Odin.
Am I missing something? Am I doing something wrong? And where can I find the boot.img from the stock firmare?
I hope somebody can help me because I spent a lot of hours looking for a solution without having a working result...

Hmm, did you reinstall stock firmware on it and try again? Error 1 happens when the zip is corrupted. What version of TWRP are you using, 3.2.3-0?

I'm using 3.2.3-1.
I've tried to reflash with Odin the whole stock firmware, then I flashed the TWRP recovery 3.2.3-1 (I redownloaded every file), I entered the recovery and I flashed the no-verity 6.0.zip, only to be once againt cut out from my phone with the same message as yesterday saying that the integrity of the phone could not be checked and that I need to restore the phone.
I really don't understand what is going wrong...
I think I've made it? I don't know what I did differently this time, I'll post the solution here if someone needs it:
0a. MAKE A BACKUP OF YOUR DATA!
0b. Put in your SD-Card the version of Magisk you want to install and the no-verity-opt-encrypt-x.x zip file.
1. Flash the stock firmware with Odin, when the PASS! message appears and the phone starts to reboot unplug the device and quickly re-enter in download mode.
2. Flash the TWRP recovery with Odin, when the PASS! message appears and the phone starts to reboot unplug che devide and quickly enter in recovery mode.
3. In recovery click Wipe and select Format Data. Then go back, click Install and select from the SD-Card the no-verity-opt-encrypt-x.x zip file.
4. Reboot your phone to system, configure the devide (account, ecc.).
5. Turn-off the phone and go in recovery, click Install and select from the SD-Card the Magisk zip.
6. Reboot your phone to system, install Magisk Manager and you're done!
TWRP and no-verity-opt-encrypt zip file: click.
Magisk zip and Magisk Manager: click.

Well I flashed to twrp recovery using the redwolf recovery and after that twrp asked me for a password to decrypt, as I didn't have a password on my phone I just ignored it and tried switching back to miui 10.3.2( same version I came to pixel experience from) and I needed up clearing my internal storage as well... Luckily I had saved the pie firmware and mi room on my SD card but when I flash from SD card it gives me an error saying zip file cannot be mapped. The pie firmware was successfully installed but the MI room isn't installing. I am not even able to switch back to redwolf as well it also gives an error while flashing.
can anyone help me?

Extract recovery.img rom OrangeFox zip file on your pc, then boot that from fastboot by typing fastboot boot recovery.img, your device will boot to OF recovery, copy the Orangefox zip file to your sd card, then just flash the OF zip file you have copied to your sdcard, you'll now be rebooting again to recovery, now you can format partition to get rid of the encryption.
I would be very thankfull, if you could help me with my problem.
After unlocking my bootloader successfully, I re-enabled USB Debugging in MIUI and booted into fastboot mode.
From there I booted the latest "twrp-3.7.0_12-0-munch.img"
1. Which is the correct way to install TWRP permanently (or after an TWRP update)?
https://twrp.me/xiaomi/xiaomipocof4.html

[Edit] Flash Current TWRP
To remove encryption it is necesarry to "Format Data" before? or after? ROM flash. When I do that, all TWRP settings are gone (language, vibration off, 24h clock). Are these settings not stored permanent?
[Edit] after flashing rom.zip
2. When I want to flash ROM + GApps, do I need to reboot the recovery for switching partitions?
I flashed "Spark-13.1-Official-munch-20221025.zip" and "NikGapps-core-arm64-13-20220908-signed.zip". I can boot SparkOS, but there are no Gapps installed. The flashing process was skipped.

1. after fastbooting TWRP use Flash Current TWRP. No format data.
2. SparkOS needs global firmware to be flashed first, then reboot to recovery, then flash ROM, then format data.
There is a version with Gapps already included, working fine.
@UniNick
1. Flash Current TWRP is the prefered Installation Method from official site. Do I need to reflash TWRP after each ROM flash to survive? When formating data after ROM flash, the TWRP setting are also deleted (no more TWRP folder in internal storage).
2. My Poco F4 was shipped with MIUI Global 13.0.3.0 (SLMEUXM). So I downloaded and flashed Europe V13.0.7.0.SLMEUXM from https://xiaomifirmwareupdater.com/firmware/munch/
Baseband version is now higher.
I know there is a Gapps Version of SparkOS, but I don't know which Google apps are included and I just need a minimum of the package. Therefore I asked how to flash Gapps after ROM.zip, that both are on the same A/B partition.
I already had to reset/flash the "V13.0.5.0.SLMMIXM_20220815.0000.00_12.0_global" with MI Flash tool, because I had no access to Internal Storage with my PC to copy files on Poco F4.

I will try it again tomorrow. Thanks!
After a lot of research I still have some questions. Many users have trouble understanding it when the installation instructions do not list all the steps.
I have read these flashing instruction on the XDA NikGApps page:
Flashing Instructions for A/B devices (Clean Flash is recommended)
Flash Rom in Slot A, Flash twrp, reboot to recovery
Flash Rom in Slot B, Flash twrp, reboot to recovery
Flash NikGapps
Flash Debloater (Optional)
Reboot
So I thought, that this would be the steps:
### First Install / Clean Flash ###
- fastboot boot TWRP image
- in TWRP select "Flash Current TWRP" under "Advanced"
- flash firmware
- reboot recovery (is this reboot necessary before flashing ROM ??)
- wipe > factory reset (recommended or not ??)
- flash ROM (current Slot A > flashing to inactive slot B)
- flash twrp.img in boot partition + (check the box "Flash to both slots" ??)
- go to "Reboot" and change slot
- flash ROM (current Slot B > flashing to inactive slot A)
- flash twrp.img in boot partition + (check the box "Flash to both slots" ??)
???
(optional for GApps)
- flash GApps
Error: Could not mount /system
- format data
- flash twrp.img (again necessary ??) + (check the box "Flash to both slots" ??)
- boot to system + install Magisk.apk
- in Magisk: patch boot.img
- reboot recovery
- flash magisk_patched.img in boot partition + (check the box "Flash to both slots" ??)
- reboot to system

I'm not sure if GApps will be installed in the same slot if I flash it directly after the ROM.zip.
I have to reflash TWRP/OrangeFox before formating data and booting to system or it will be lost when I boot back to recovery.
When updating the ROM, the recovery is flashing it to inactive slot. Do I need to click through the (google) setup again, or is this data stored in another partition? When do I need to reflash GApps?
flash ROM.zip
wipe cache + dalvik
reflash recovery
reflash magisk_patched
reboot system

Please bear with me, as this is my first A/B device and I'm quite confused about the flashing procedure.
I successfully unlocked bootloader and flashed TWRP.
I tried to install A13 SparkOS vanilla + Basic NikGapps. Like @11insomnium said in the 1st post, ROM was installed fine, but Gapps package was not. I tried what @psklf says, no good... Each time I try to flash the Gapps package I get a message that /system size is 0KB, and of course the setup process is skipped due to lack of space...
On a side note, when flashing the ROM, step 1/2 completes fine, but on step 2/2 I get some errors about failing to access /system, /system_product, /vendor etc... However, as I said, ROM boots fine afterwards...
Am I missing something? Or is flashing the integrated Gapps ROM version the way to go?
@11insomnium did you manage to sort this out?
@hammerheadache I'm still using the GApps version 20221113, but recently I updated my device to latest OFox recovery (R11.1_2_A12) and A13 firmware (V14.0.2.0.TLMEUXM). The result was that my fingerprints were deleted and I could't save new ones, so I reflashed the old version (V13.0.7.0.SLMEUXM).
I think you missed the reboot to recovery. This should work for you:
- flash ROM
- flash recovery
- reboot to recovery
- flash NikGapps
- reboot to system
Edit: Maybe this will also help you:

I haven't completely understood it yet either

I have read in EROFS ROMs like Spark or PE it's problematic to flash GApps or microG as the system is read-only. Also applies to some Magisk modules as well.
