Accessories Dbrand Grip Case Pixel 6 Pro Feedback? - Google Pixel 6 Pro

For those of you who have the DBrand grip case, what has your experience been like and if you've had it for a few weeks/months, how has it held up?

I've had it for a couple weeks now and absolutely love it. The buttons really stick out so you can actually feel them in your pocket when you reach for it love it.

It's holding up great

Thanks for the feedback @spart0n . Hows the coverage near the curved edges?

The top and bottom stick out a bit and the sides are flush with the screen so not terrible

Also, does dbrand have any coupon/promo codes? I didn't see any deals in the holiday season but since the Grip was backordered, wasn't as big a deal. It appears to be in stock now.

I have been looking at this case. Got my Pro on Friday and currently using the Spigen Thin Fit case. I'm happy with this case but looking for something with a bit more grip. Does anyone know how much this case weighs? I cannot find specs on dbrand website. The Thin Fit case weighs 1 oz.

This YouTube video should give you some good looks on it

I have it. It does what it needs to do and thats be grippy lol. I really like this case, the camera is flush with the case and has edges around the camera housing so if it drops it doesn't damage the cameras. I also put the exact same skin on the back of the case from that youtube video above me

My experience isn't too good with the grip. It literally looks like I got someone's returned case and they just stuffed it into a box with the skins and sent it to me. There's a bunch of scuffs on the back and a pretty sizable ding on the bottom. Plus area for the skin seemed to be cut incorrectly even when alligned perfectly looks like the skin is sinking in one area. Contacted their customer support but with a 7-10 business day response time, I don't see this getting resolved in a timely fashion. Especially if every single exchange will take 7-10 days after initial contact, that is just atrocious.

I had one of those for my Pixel 5 an absolutely loved it. I ordered now one for my Pixel 6, the website sais it will ship in January.

I loved the Grip case on my OP7P and am loving it on my Pixel now too. Grip is probably the most appropriate name for it - it stays in your hand with the "rough" textured sides and the entire case is very rigid feeling, compared to some other hard cases that have some flex to it. I really like that the camera is flush with the back now as well. Grip is probably my favourite hard case.

Best case I've owned for any phone. The grip has a good bite. The buttons stick out enough to find them easily and the case around the camera sits flush. Definitely recommend dbrand

I used them with my Oneplus 7 pro, and 9, they are great.

I have one, and I actually find it slippery, even though it is called GRIP. It looks nice though, fits perfectly, and I like the "carbon" skin which costed me extra $10. The skin is very slippery too, but it does not make it much worse because the case back is hard and slippery as it is, without any skin. I used Spigen Rugged Armor before, and the reason I switched to the DBRAND's case is because it hides that ugly 6 Pro camera bump and turns it into the regular phone. And I also wanted to try a more expensive case which I never did before. But the Spigen case was definitely softer and grippier and sometimes I think I will switch back to it.

Just received mine today.
It's just a bit bulkier than the rhinoshield SolidSuit, but at the same time I have the feeling it's also just a bit lighter.
The grip is just fantastic - a lot "grippier" than the SolidSuit, so I think it'S going to be my N°1 case for trailrunning, gravel biking, skiing, ...
The buttons are great as well, even though I just like the color buttons you can get with the rhinoshield.
And yes, the back is nice to look at as well

This looks fantastic! My Grip is on its way to Germany. I picked the Teardown skin (like yours), the Robot Camo skin and the Matrix skin (which I had for my Pixel 5 Grip - it was fantastic).

I enjoy mine, I got the leather version. The only complaint is that I wish the power button was smooth to help differentiate it between the two volume buttons. It looks great and I feel for me it was worth the money having dropped the p6p on concrete several times already due to my being stupid.

I have the MKBHD RedCode skin getting delivered to me. I was considering getting the Teardown or Ghost skin but went with the RedCode one for the eye-catching color and appearance. I just peeled off my panda, white/grey skin as the white started getting some colored stains on it =/. But I had forgotten how this phone's back is more slippery than a stick of butter without a skin or a case!

I have the solidsuit and like it a lot but I keep going to the dbrand website to look at the Grip.
Is it different enough to add to my collection?
Do you think it's an upgrade to the Rhinoshield?

Case Mate Barely There review

Photos at the bottom of the post for those looking to get straight to the phone p0rn
When I got my DINC2 the VZW rep was "nice" enough to throw in a silicone case for free. I say "nice" because silicone is made for bakeware and o-rings, not phone cases. I was pulling the case off the phone as I walked out the door and it got ditched in the first trash can I saw.
I set out to find a case based on some specific requirements:
Thin and light
Grippy exterior
Excellet camera lens protection
The last one is really important and I'm surprised more folks don't highlight it in case reviews, especially for HTC phones. As anyone who owned the original DINC will tell you, HTC loves to leave their camera lenses flapping in the breeze where any hard object passing by can scratch/crack/smudge it.
My DINC wore a Seidio Surface case from day one and it was phenominal but with the DINC2 being slightly larger the Surface seemed to add more bulk than I was willing to stick in my pocket. I had read about the Incipio Feather case here on the forums and ordered one based on other's experiences. I was extremely disappointed when it arrived already broken still inside it's packaging. I returned it but the seller took six weeks to send the replacement, so in the meantime I got the Case Mate.
Once I had both of them in hand I was surprised at how different they were. It's the same basic design, a super thin case that wraps around the two sides and the four corners leaving the top and bottom exposed. What struck me was the difference in materials. The Case Mate was noticeably more rigid, fit more tightly and the "soft touch" surface was more grippy. The Incipio was certainly a quality case but the Case Mate just felt better.
Lastly, to the point of protecting the camera, the Case Mate takes the cake. The Incipio adds pretty much nothing in terms of shielding the camera but the Case Mate has a deliberate lip which gives the camera 2-3mm of setback. When you put the phone down in the Incipio case the lens still touches the table which means if you put it down on something less forgiving you're just asking for lens damage. The Case Mate's lip puts some distance between the lens and whatever you put it down on. When you take into account that your phone spends a great deal of time in your pocket, along with change/keys/etc the Incipio offers pretty much no protection to what I would call a design flaw on HTC's part.
In the end I'm glad I didn't pay for the Incipio (the seller refunded my money and let me keep the case to avoid negative feedback for the six week return delay). The Case Mate is a fantastic minimal case for the DINC2 that adds very little bulk, makes the phone easier to grip, protects the camera really well and feels much more durable than a 1mm thick piece of plastic.

Cool review thanks. Still just waiting for my red or white battery cover so I can show it through my Griffin Reveal look alike case
Sent from my ADR6350 using Tapatalk
I got the Innocase Surface, I really like it. Viewing from the pictures it looks like the casemate is abit thinner but not by much. I was considering the Casemate but I wasn't too sure how much I wanted a case that doesn't really protect the bottom or the top faceplate. Glad you enjoy the case though!
After spending some more time with the Case Mate I've discovered what might be it's only flaw and frankly I don't think I completely blame the case for this one.
The power button on top of the phone is already pretty minimal but with the case it's just slightly harder to actuate. The case comes up close to the button and stands off from the phone about the same distance. That means the button is pretty much flush with the case.
Now Case Mate didn't design the phone to have a slightly-too-small power button (I don't care for it even without the case) but they might have considered leaving a bit more clearance to make it a little easier to press.
Cool review. Incipio Red feather user here. I posted my review on Amazon.com, mine is the only review that's posted there. I've been very happy with my Red case as it is my favorite color and it is the thinnest out there(1mm).
I have to disagree with your comment on camera protection, the incipio feather has an ample lip which covers the camera. The only thing you can expect from these thin case is to have just a tiny lift off from surfaces and the feather gives the lift. I honestly do not see the point of thicker lip because it literally does nothing more than just a slightest lift off.
However since I've never touched the Case Mate Barely There, I have to take your words on the material. I wish they make more bright colors.
Very nice review! I went with the CaseMate as well and I really like it for easy pocket carry. I had the same concern with reduced ease of access to the power button, so I did a quick mod on mine with a Dremel wheel. I will probably go back and clean it up so it doesn't look so angry-beaver-ish but it is really nice to use with this tiny modification and with the change it truly lives up to the "Barely There" name.
If rooted I can MOD your ROM to make it so you can pull the phone out of sleep with the volume keys, that seems to be working for me.
nice review. I am catching this thread a little late I know but the aspect I dont like about this case is I dont see much protection for the screen in the event of a drop. I would never think that would be an issue but two days ago my Dinc2 feel out of my bag as I was putting it in my car and landed face down flat on its screen and shattered the screen. Had to dish out the deductible for a replacement. Now I am using a TPU case as is has just enough lip to protect the screen if it happened again.
I want a case similar to this, but it just doesn't protect the screen enough.

[User Review] Amzer Pudding TPU Case Black For Moto G

I initially looked at the flip case, but having had a go with a friends, I didn`t like the `flip` when making a call.
I started looking round for alternatives and spotter the Amzer Pudding TPU case.
I wanted something with protection all the way round the phone. I`ve seen several where the corners are exposed. Dropping it on a corner is something I had with an old phone and it immediately cracked the glass, so a fully enclosed cover was top of the list.
This has a `rubberised` texture and in use, it certainly feels grippy. The edges are sticky enough so you won`t drop it easily, but not so bad that you can`t get it in and out of your pocket without it `grabbing` the material. :good:
For £6.50 delivered, I really can`t complain. :good:

Full edge coverage
Closeup of the corners
Neat cutout for the headphone
Camera & Speaker cutouts
Power and Volume controls are covered, but they are easy to use and I haven`t struggled to press the buttons at all.
By how much does the thickness increase..
i know its too much to ask but if u ever remove the case can u post pictures of case and bare mobile side by side
btw i have never used a tpu case..its is rubbery flexible or plasticky...i have heard that its a combination of both

But a drop of more than 2-3 feet would probably still break the phone. To get better protection, one should have a case with thick rubber bumpers on the corners like the Trident or Ballistic case. But of course, it wouldn't be as pocket friendly.
I have this case and dislike it. It adds too much thickness for me, but about what you can expect from a TPU case. I buy cases for scratch protection rather than drop protection. I hate the glossy bezel and just wish they had that same back finish for the entire case. The finish of the back is nice since it doesn't pick up fingerprints. The last thing I can't stand is how small the usb connector cutout is. This can probably be fixed with a knife, but it still shouldn't come like that.
is it sturdy material or flexible that it can be like silicon cover in the ease of putting/removing the phone from it?
It is not terribly difficult to put this case on or remove it. One of the best features of this case for me is the matte back section which greatly improves grip and the button molds in the side.

Every time I use a heavy-duty case though I end up removing it after a few months and using a less-protective one because of the bulk, tpu cases seem like an "OK" compromise (or at least I hope).
I've been eyeing the Cruzerlite bugroid ones since watching this IRL drop test (nexus 5) video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KY9Svj9fYVg but the Amzer one reviewed here looks very nice :good:
isit a good alternative for the gripshell?
I need a bumper what do you suggest?
It does provide good protection but makes the device look dull. I guess I'll have to buy something else for my wife.

This was the only tpu case available when the phone first launched online. It is a durable case with good protection, not too bulky. Offers good grip. Overall 7.5/10.
After much ado I finally decided on this case, bought it, received it, liked it at first. Then I had it in my pocket for a day at work.
Took my phone out of my pocket and the screen was covered in little waves of dust. And it had gathered up around the edges. Even had a small piece of plaster or something sticking to the screen.
I work in a dusty environment but this is ridiculous. I didn't have problems with my 3GS or Lumia, and though the bareback Moto G's screen seemed to attract a little more dust than those... This case is a DUST MAGNET.
I wish someone would have mentioned that in any of the dozens and dozens of reviews I'd gone over.

Nillkin Frosted Case Review

Nillkin Frosted Case Review
Link: http://goo.gl/qH6o3k
The fourth and final case arrived pretty early today and it is threatening the Ebestsale TPU case's reign on my phone.
Just looking at the case, you can see a subtle dotted pattern on the back. Once you feel the back, you start to question whether the Sandstone back was really your favorite texture. Then you remember the whole point of having the case, to protect your phone, right? Unfortunately, this case will not protect your phone with the efficiency Ebestsale's TPU provides. The edges are raised but not nearly as much as the TPU. After putting a quarter under the phone and moving it, the quarter does get displaced. The smaller raise causes the screen to be much more vulnerable.
The ports on the side are better than the blue TPU I reviewed and since it's a hard case, nothing is loose. Thanks to this hardness, the case is much slimmer than the TPUs. The top and bottom of the case reveal 90% of the phone itself because of the curved cut approach Nillkin took when creating this case. This makes it easier to put things in the ports but sacrifices protection because the casing won't be there to absorb the impact. This case will not provide the grip you get on the TPU or sandstone back.
Overall this case is not truly meant for protection but for a good show and boy does it deliver in that category. I would recommend this for those who can maintain the safety of their OnePlus and want a case that doesn't mask its identity.
Pros: Feels very nice - The Slimmest Case I've bought - Color Choices
Cons: Edges not Raised enough - Not enough case to protect- Slippery

Just got this case;
http://www.amazon.com/Nillkin-Frosted-Protector-Compatible-OnePlus/dp/B00L2D3NYE
I gotta say this case is AWESOME I have the Diztronic matte black case too, and typically I am a big fan of Diztronic, I had the Diztronic for my HTC One M8, and my brother does for his Nexus 5, and it's very thin, while also protecting the phone, but the Diztronic for the OnePlus One feels pretty thick and bulky for some reason on the 1+1, and is very slippery.
Anyways, this Nillkin black case is just perfect for me. The 1+1 is already a pretty large phone to begin with, and the Diztronic case made it feel quite a bit bigger and heavier, and I just loved using my OnePlus One naked, it felt so light and easier to handle, but I was always afraid of scratching it and dropping it. Well this Nillkin is very thin, and makes the phone feel naked almost still. It looks very nice, I love the rubbery feel on the back.
This case won't protect the phone much if dropped, but then again most cases aren't guaranteed to fully protect a phone. But I like the very light profile, making the phone still feel naked, but it does protect the camera in back, and the lip goes over the front screen, protecting the screen if you lay the phone face down.

Just got mine today, black. Not sure I'm thrilled with it. It's thinner than the Tudia Dual. Doesn't feel as protective. It didn't "hug" the phone as well as I was hoping it would, the Tudia is a nice slim snug fit. Not much of a lip over the front of the phone screen. The silver bezel on the top/bottom of the phone is visible with it on.

There's something strange, something wrong on this case...
Just an update, I stopped using the Orzly Fusion case, even on the Bamboo the case is loose (or maybe because it's on the Bamboo and it's thicker so it's not hugging the phone properly).
posted this on google+ originally
Orzly Oneplus One case came in yesterday. Very satisfied and happy that it fits perfectly with the Bamboo Swapstyle cover. The buttons are tough as hell to press but it's not a deal breaker. Plus the shine effect the clear back gives to my OnePlus is a beauty.

Clench your phone, as if you're trying to compress the lips over your phone sides, you will feel like it has movement as if it really is loose.
I found the same thing. Fit is nowhere near as snug as I would have liked it to be, and I would have much preferred a bit more lip for screen protection.
I just received this too. It's an okay case.. NOT a fan of clear rears. But for 5 bucks not bad.
...
Iv had this for about 2 weeks. i love the case. I believe bigballa on the xda community has posted some really helpful pics. The fitting around the sides is perfect and access to all ports is spot on as well. Iv read some odd amazon reviews but i really cant fault this case. Shows the back of my phone nicely whilst offering great protection
kind of glad i got the diztronic instead, is recommend it I might pick up the fusion later on
Remove back Plastic
Hi,
Same here seems that it is realy thinn and not so protective. We will see after some drops (I hope It will not happen soon).
I remove all the plastic back part (with a dremel: Grinding and Cuting head) to preserve the sandstone back feel of the phone and to keep the weight down. Its is quite good, the case is still well in place, not so loosy. There is a litle loose in the midle of the long border. If I redo this operation I will keep a litle platic stripe between the midle of the long borders.
I will try to cut the back of an Diztronic case to compare the overall rigidity.
Regards,
+ 9h nilkin tempered glass screen protector
I've had the clear version of this case for about a couple months and have dropped it several times. No damage, just some small chips on the edges of the nilkin tempered glass screen
I have the case about 5 days, but I send it back, there are some problems with it.
First the polycarbonat back scratches really easy and looks bad, second is the case not fits at the top and bottom, so there can enter a lot of dust.
I can not recommend this case
The back transparent easy to scratch. Demmittt.
I actually really love this case. It is much slimmer than the ringke fusion and actually maintains the shape of the opo with minimal bulk. Also, I made my own template (much like I did with the ringke fusion) So I can have custom backs.
The one downside is quality control though. When I got the case, one of the plastic protective sheets was positioned halfway down the back and there was a small scratch on the top right hand corner.
That said, this is still my favourite case.

Review Poetic cases

I received two cases from poetic
Karbon shiel-http://www.poeticcases.com/karbon-shield-9
Revolution-http://www.poeticcases.com/revolution-85
Peotic is one of the best (for me)
Revolution have protection for screen, because of that case is massive but not too much like for some other phones. Case have cover for all open ports to prevent dust and lint.
Karbon shiel is regular soft case with karbon patern. Front bezel to prevent the device from coming in contact with any surface.
Both case look very cool, and have perfect grip sides for much safer use. If you need max protection, revolutin is for you. From my past use of revolution, protection is on the top.
If you use case with tempered glass then you need karbon shiel (or affinity-http://www.poeticcases.com/affinity-101)
From my past use of Poetic cases, they cases is on the top of my list. You can by on Amazon
In my country we still dont have G6 on the market but when will have i will update my review

The revolution case looks good except the back opening for the camera and fingerprint. I've would of prefer it to have individual openings like the other case. Also the opening design is not attractive at all.
Just got the karbon case about an hour ago. Don't like it. Feels a little loose and doesn't hold tight to the phone, leaving some gaps on the front around the edges that are driving me nuts. Fits like a cheap rubber case. But it was only like $8 on Amazon, so not a huge loss.

Was debating on the Poetic case however I decided to stick with Unicorn Beetle since they have never let me down. Thanks for the review.

Just got my Unicorn Beetle. Love it, only a couple issues though. The protector that comes with it has a rainbow effect when the screen is black, not noticable when in use, and it doesnt completely cover the bottom bezel, and leaves just a lil bit of the top of the LG logo and the letters LG showing. Minor annoyances, but still. I dont have a glass protector on it yet, and I have a feeling Ill end up having to remove the plastic protector that is on the case in order for it to fit properly.
Havent really noticed any touch issues with the plastic screen protector either. But Ive only been playing around with it for about an hour or so. I think its definitely better than an otterbox though.
Also, the price increased to 16.99 on amazon from the 14.99 I paid 2 days ago. Ordered one for my mom and was a bit miffed at the price jump in 2 days.
I personally chose the Supcase Unicorn Beetle because I always purchase their cases with every new phone I upgrade to, just in case I can't find anything local. I never purchased any Poetic before, so I can't really weigh in. Honestly both have, effectively, everything that you need. That's inclusive to a full body case, built-in screen protector, belt clip (if you into that kinda stuff) and covers for your ports. So what is really comes to is design language. Supcase appears to be more industrial, with angular shapes and corners. Peotic has more of an elegance to the case design, with different variable textures along the sides and rear of the device.
So in short, you can't really go wrong either way you decide. At this time of posting, both cases retail at 16.99 on Amazon, so you are missing out financially.
Best of luck in your search, that is if you still searching...
I've had the revolution cases for my m8 and m9 those were sturdy cases. This one for the g6 is cheap feeling. Not worth the 15 I paid for it for sure. The rubber comes off it as in doesn't stay tight and the screen protector bulges. I ended up popping it out so I have real feel of the screen

planning on getting one for me aswell.
ty
I still wait for my g6. Hope it will be this week
I hate that poetic did not cover the camera lens with their full body case. I like the case cause I do a lot of hiking and it's great but still wish had camera protection
I just get my G6
Revolution case i cant use with tempered glass (on g5 i can) but you have screen protector on case. Case fit better on G6. Phone in case is not big that much. For me, for much protection, case is perfect.
Karbon case is frendly with tempered glass. Case is soft and have good feel in hand. Karbon back look nice.
Poetic is one of the best for me (price and what you get from case)
