Hi,
I have noticed that all of the Android 12 ROMs are AB. Is there any A only Android ROM that I missed? if not, does it mean A only devices won't be supported anymore starting from Android 12?
Thanks in advance
If you are referring to GSI's and your A-only device support's SAR (system as root) then you should be able to flash A/B GSI's. I've read A-only builds have been discontinued with release of A12. I think of ROMs as a full OS build made for a specific device where as GSI's are a generic system image that can be flashed on any compatible device.

So as you guys probably know the current android P ROM requires an android 8.1 vendor image. Is this because P is closed source and it'll change when sources become publicly available or is this an android P thing and will still require 8.1 vendor even when it's officially released?
Just wondering
Thanks in advance
Android P hasn't been released officially so none of the manufacturers will have released a final vendor image for the devices for Android 9, 8.1 vendor images will be the only ones available in that case. Earlier versions of Android don't use the Treble system so would be useless.
Android 8.0 treble devices should also support 9.
I do not really understand why there is only very few treble rom certified compatible with kirin chipset, while all treble compatible phones are supposed to have the ability to run an unique and same rom. Can someone tell me if I can install ANY treble rom on my Huawei mate SE.
(Sorry if it's not the best place to post this)
I was running openkirin Omnirom alpha 4 for a while. yesterday I decided to upgrade my firmware, I was running build 330. After the upgrade(now running build 361) I can not get any of the treble roms to run. I have tried Phhusson's and most of the openkirin stuff. Not sure what build you are running on your Mate SE, but yes, you can install any of the treble roms as long as your bootloader is unlocked

Sadly you can't 'cause treble was added on Oreo for the 1st time. You must upgrade to android 8.x (with treble support, as not every device with oreo support treble) and than you can do "anything" you want.
The biggest problem is /vendor partition. If your OEM doesn't have added it you will have lots of troubles and you won't be able to flash any treble ROMs
The fact of the matter is that there is no way to upgrade to android 8.0. It is unlikely that a vendor will work from another phone zte 9 vite, i have zte blade A6.
I'm looking for ROM with Android 9 pie for moto z2 play device I tried several methods by GSI I tried the KVT and tried all but no ROMs like Lineage OS and mokee OS, resurrection remix OS and other ROMs work fine but the method by GSI gave fail and all say that date is corrupted wanted to know if it has any ROM available with Android 9 need help installing a GSI on the device someone from the forum can help me.
first of all, you already have bootloader unlocked, from there on out it's simple, just have TWRP recovery, make wipes, then install rom android 8.1 with treble support, after this install img of rom android nine GSI you can try havoc 2.0 and ready, if something comes out more nothing but indicate us in which part you are staying to know how to help you..!!
I did all the processes for an image of GSI system through the ceiling I installed a ROM treble but when r6 to start the device it does not start and I tried to use the base KVT but the device starts giving error in the data system that says to be corrupted or encrypted but it's not
does anyone have any ROM with Android 9.0 running that can pass the rom link or some more effective method to install Android 9.0 on the device
Why did you create so may threads asking for the same thing?
Hello all,
I have seen multiple guides on how to port A-only ROMs to A/B devices on this forum. Indeed, nowadays, there are more and more A/B devices. However, I would like to know as to whether there is a guide to port A/B ROMs to a much older, 2018 A-only device that I have on hand? It'll be preferable if it can be semi-automated. Thanks in advance!
