Question Flash Poco F3 Global from Custom ROM back to Stock ROM - Xiaomi Poco F3 / Xiaomi Mi 11X / Redmi K40

Hello,
sorry for my maybe dumb question. But how do I flash back to Stock ROM coming from a custom ROM? The problem is, that I am not able to install TWRP any more, or to find, if I am booting into TWRP, the folders like "Downloads". Think that this is because TWRP can't decrypt the storage of the Poco F3 anymore, but how do I completely go back to Stock? I mean, how do I go back and I will be able to decrypt everything again and be able to find "Downloads" and other folders in TWRP again?
Thanx in advance

Oneplus 3 can only load recovery for the community build

Hi,
So I installed the new oxygenos 3.5.3, and therefore I had to flash a certain recovery of twrp.
However, when I wanted to install an other custom rom, i knew i had to flash the original twrp, but when i did that, and the recovery would start i got an black screen.
The only recovery that's working is the one for the communitybuild. I tried almost anything, i completely wiped my phone and I tried to unroot it but nothing helped.
Please is there someone with the answer so I can flash my other custom roms again. It would be appriciated.
Stan
(Sorry for my bad english, i'm doing my best )
There's a custom TWRP for the community build floating around somewhere I don't remember where but do a quick search and you should find it!

Problem installing TWRP

Hello,
Yesterday, i spent 7hours trying to install TWRP on my brand new Mi A2 Lite. At the end, i had the message, system is destroyed.
I could flash a new rom using Miflash. Now, my phone is working with 10.0.4.
When i try to boot in recovery, i have the no command message with the android green guy on his back ....
So know is it useful to install the original recovery before trying to install TWRP ? If, yes, how ?
If not, and i can install TWRP. Please, can someone give me a working tutorial ?
Thx in advance !

The recovery with the green guy is the stock one. For twrp: put twrp.zip in your storage or sd card and you must start in fastboot (fastboot boot twrp.img). Once you booted in twrp you flash twrp.zip from storage to have it permanently. Since you have pie firmware it might be better to use twrp from here which is said to be built with pie kernel, I'm not sure that's necessary.

Xiaomi mi a2 lite stuck on fastboot

Hello everyone,
I tried to change the ROM of my phone for Lineage OS but since I flash it with twrp I'm stuck on fastboot.
I tried to do the
fastboot devices then reboot it's still stuck and twrp freeze when I'm trying to boot with the .img
I'm out of solution can someone help me please ?
:crying:
PS : my bootloader is unlocked
Flash stock rom via miflasher and stay on stock. Twrp doesnt stable for pie, I had to go to stock last week - RR twrp update destroy everything.
I have no power to install custom rom again and again. Stock rom and magisk are enough.

Totaly agree with you magisk and stock, is so customisable you dont really need a custom rom, although pixel experience sounds nice, i went and got an upgrade with a second carrier to pixel 3a, not impressed at all, and cant customise it cause of carrier locked for 6 months

Clarification on TWRP and Xiaomi Devices

Hi, I'm looking for help to clarify some of the things I've experienced/read about on XDA and other Xiaomi forums. Please correct me if I am wrong.
1. There is a TWRP for Chinese RN8 and there is another one for Global RN8. We cannot flash a TWRP for Global onto a Chinese RN8 and vice versa.
2. TWRP does not survive a reboot unless the phone is rooted. Therefore, if I do not want root, I will need to flash TWRP again whenever I want to access it.
3. This is more of a question: Can I backup the stock Xiaomi ROM via TWRP, and if anything goes wrong, restore the Xiaomi ROM using TWRP again?
Really appreciate the response and thanks in advance.
Edit:
Some of my observations after even more research and checking the above on my phone.
1. I managed to flash the official TWRP onto my Chinese RN8.
2. My phone is not rooted, and TWRP will not survive if you let the phone boot to system. When it does it overwrites (?) the recovery partition with the Xiaomi recovery. I can only boot into TWRP by holding volume up and power when in Fastboot just after I flashed it.
3. It seems like you should backup only Data, Boot and System partitions. And restore those. I have not yet dared to wipe my phone since I've already bricked the phone twice, but I hear that when wiping you should only wipe dalvik, cache, system and data.
If anyone finds otherwise, please feel free to correct.

To answer your questions:
1. Same TWRP is flashable for both chinese and global variants
2. To get rid of stock recovery overwriting itself you need to flash disable dm-verity zip from here https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software/universal-dm-verity-forceencrypt-t3817389 . It has nothing to do with root. But if you do want to root then flash magisk first and after that flash this zip or else your phone won't boot.
3. You can backup any partition you want and restore them later(restore only after clean wiping through twrp). Regarding wiping you can wipe everything you want.

Question How to

Install custom rom on poco f3 without rooting or twrp.
To install a Custom ROM a Custom Recovery like TWRP is needed.
If you really don't want to install TWRP then you can install a fastboot ROM (look at the oldest ROMs on the Poco F3 Forum). However they will be outdated and probably quite buggy.
I would recommend installing TWRP. You don't have to root your device to do this. However you do have to have an unlocked bootloader to install any custom ROMs
Thanks I will try installing TWRP
Hi,
but the TWRP I have always started from ADB, is there a way to install it in the phone so that I don't have to use the pc to start it?
If there is a way, does the procedure delete my data?
