Brand new phone from Google less then a week old. It came with November .36 update. Havnet unlocked or rooted yet. Only installed a few apps.
Issue 1: Alarm keeps getting set to whatever it wants whenever it wants.....if I tap the phone to see the screen, more often than not, there will be an Alarm set for 5-10 minutes into the future. However, I did NOT set any alarms. AND, the alarm never actually rings. If I go back, the Alarm will be for 5-10 minutes into the future.....and this just keeps happening.
Issue 2: This just started yesterday, the Google App is coming up empty of information, cant seem to get it back....

That sounds familiar. I haven't had the issue but I know others have reported something similar with a simple fix. Might want to use the search box limited to the P6P section only for "alarm" and you should find the posts about it.

Thanks for that, will search a bit for Alarm. And yes, have rebooted, didnt help. Havent wiped cache yet, but probably give that a try too! Thx!!!
Ok, Found a post saying Tasker was the cause.....so gonna play with the Tasker settings but I had that setting to Never so should be working......
Ok, now found my error on the Google app.......I tweaked the setting off called "Discover" and thats what makes it all disappear. Seems to me that if you have that turned off then whats the point of the Google app?!?! Anyways, my own error.....
Awesome, glad you were able to fix it.

I seem to be having a problem with my Alarm Clock for some reason and can't figure out what is happening.
Last week I had to get up @ 7:25AM so I tapped the clock on the home screen, set one alarm to 7:25 and one to 7:30 so I would not oversleep. Worked flawlessly all week so no worries there. This week, I don't really need to get up since I'm off from work, so I went to the home screen, tapped the clock and not only slid both sliders to "Off" for the alarms, I also made all alarm-clocks show 0:00.
Surprise surprise; for 7 days straight, my phone is waking me @ 7:25AM and then again @ 7:30AM.
Looked up the registry setting HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Clock and check the 3 registry-keys for all 3 alarms. All seem to be set to NOT wake me at all.
Getting quite tired of this; anyone has any idea to how to solve?
What ROM?
Have you tried rebooting after you made the change?
WinMo is quite dumb at times.
Forgot to mention indeed but using the Energy-ROM.
Rebooted my phone both after changing the alarm-time and after changing/checking the registry. Both failed coz I woke up 7:25AM again today...

Sorry, I haven't used WinMo in ages. Random weird issues like this drove me batty. Android has gotten to the point where (for me) I can use it daily. Good luck.
You may just need to clear your notification queue. This has been a long running bug in WM since PPC 2003 was out. The simplest way by far is to use SK Tools. If you are a WM user who doesn't own this, then something is wrong with you!
The other, much longer, option is detailed by JVH3 in THIS POST.

Ditch WM .
Rebooting was obviously a bust...
Late update but it seems to have solved itself...
Well, not completely without a hitch; I started with cleaning out the registry. Then I disabled all push-updates to the phone (weather, mail, gps mapping and so on). Set all alarm-clocks to 0:00 and rebooted the device a few times. Next morning, the alarm went off again so I rebooted it again.
And ever since, not had this problem again... And yes, people saying to ditch WM, I might but in a month time I can get a new/free phone from my provider but unsure if I will go for Android or WM7.5.

I posted the known solutions a few posts back. SKTools is the simpler one of the two. If you can't get your hands on a copy of it, there was an alternative in that same post. All you have to do is clear your notification queue.
Just in case someone else runs into this issue.
My alarm (default app) would get snoozed immideately after going off, thus becoming useless.
I have discovered that if I disable the "OK Google" detection from any screen option, the alarm functions fine.
Hope it helps someone not to miss any important appointments.
The ok google from any screen feature also kills the video camera. You get a "can not record while on a call" warning.

Glad I happened to see this post ... For the past week I've been trying to figure out what was automatically dismissing my alarm ... Uninstalled and reinstalled so many apps and xposed modules and never figured it out. Thanks!

Gald I could help. Also, at least I know that it's not only happening on my phone.
I wonder if the bug has to be submitted to Google or LG?

Running in to a similar issue. But instead of the alarm snoozing. I get a pop up message stating "Alarm/Clock has stopped working" and then a flashing notification light. The problem started just this week. I uninstalled the latest Google update and also turned off OK Google" detection from any screen, but that doesn't seem to have had any impact. Odd that I've had no problems with Google Now up until this past Tuesday.

I was unable to replicate your issue. I only get the "Snoozed" notification.
However, I moved to Timely alarm app since and it works just fine.
Thank you for the response. I was hoping I'd be able to figure out what's the issue is and continue to use the stock app. But looks like I'll have look into a third-party app.
Thanks again.

The recent Google Search update seems to have fixed my issue.
I love my new Pixel 2 XL but despite my best efforts to identify what app or system service was sending repeated (and annoying) default notification sounds but not showing any other message or indication, I finally hit on a solution that seems to work.
SET THE DEFAULT NOTIFICATION SOUND TO "NONE"
settings>sound>advanced>default notification sound
Then set the notification sounds to whatever you want for each app you actually care to hear from.

I have noticed this as well.
<notification sound> no new text or email...
For me, it's just easier to ignore the errant tone once in a while than to set notifications for individual apps (cause I'm totally lazy like that).
But THAT is the beauty of Android... to each their own and there are always multiple ways to skin that cat
Use a notification log
I had this same issue. Turned out to be an app I had disabled pop ups for.
I have a (potentially) better solution. Add a notification log widget to find the culprit:
1. Long press on home screen and go to widgets.
2. Drag the settings widget to the home screen.
3. In the list of options, choose Notifications
Now you can see a log of your notifications. Next time you get the sound but no pop up, go into the log and find the offender at the top of the list.
For me it was a game I didn't need so I deleted it, but you can remedy the problem as you see fit.

Glad you found it! Sorry I just saw this. I forget where I learned about this, but it wasn't easy to find. I'm glad I could pass it on to someone else, I'm sure it could be plenty useful.
I'm having the same issue but it's not even showing in the notification log. Makes me want to throw it out the window to be honest. There's time where it will go off every 30 seconds. Off to reset I guess and see if that works.
same thing here pixel 2 oreo 8.1 notification sound...no thing new in the "hot list" or email or message
very weird, and randomly at night too which is the suck
2019 and no change
Hello, same issue still persists in 2019. Every few weeks i must dump the default sound as it sets it self up again.
Still no idea why it does it, just a temp bandaid to curb the annoyance. I notice a slightly higher battery drain too, tells me something is running

Sounds like a re-install is in order...if you have an unlocked bootloader, when was the last time you've done an update via Full Factory image? I'd imagine all that might be sorted out by reinstall/updating; with the "-w" removed of course...
I hope you consider it, and I hope this helps...
Alrighty, so in updating to the latest version Monday, I accidentally forgot to remove the -w flag and wiped my phone....my bad! I've gotten it almost back to where it was but have a new issue with Clock/Alarm. No matter what I do or try, I have a persistent "Alarm" on the Lockscreen. When I tap to wake the phone, it shows an alarm for 10 minutes in the future, under the Time/Date/Temp. Very aggravating!!! It never actually triggers the Alarm, it just keeps moving ahead.....crazy! I have tried blowing away cache and data on the Clock but nothing has worked thus far.
Suggestions appreciated!!
Take a look at the "Bedtime" tab of the Clock app. That's what happened to me - it got enabled by default I think when I got my P6P.
Edit: On second thought, this might not be what I experienced. Very weird.

click on the alarm tab and see if there are any alarms (even if they aren't toggled). Tap and delete each alarm, the persistent alarm icon should disappear. I remember when I first got my P6P, there were two alarms shown under the alarm tab in clock app, when I hadn't even set up everything or touched the clock. I deleted the 2 scheduled alarms and voila! no more icon in statusbar

You know, I was thinking that was probably the ONLY thing I havent tried.....I tried setting a new one and that didnt work.
Sadly, that too does not fix me. Unreal. NEVER FORGET TO REMOVE THE -w FLAG STOOOPID!!!
Did you reboot your phone after setting and deleting the alarm? I know it sounds dumb, but sometimes we just need to reboot.

Yes I did, several times. I even received a Clock update while troubleshooting this and still the same. Its just annoying, as it doesnt actually ring or anything...it just keeps roughly 10 minutes ahead of the actual clock.

This problem sounds so familiar, but I can't think of anything else specifically. Maybe try Android Settings / Tips & support / "Ask the Help Community" or "Contact us" if you haven't already?
SOLVED.......so I finally figured it out and remembered from a few years ago.......This is "semi-known" Tasker issue....I ws troubleshooting something else in Tasker and while crawling through settings I realized (remembered) that one Setting tweaks the Alarm as noted.....The "Use Reliable Alarms" setting needs to be disabled. Its as simple as that!!! Drove me crazy.......

AH! Wow. I must've come across that sometime in the past as well, although I don't exactly remember it - it just seemed so familiar. Glad you found your solution!
I am not entirely sure if I'm tripping, but I seem to be missing phone calls pretty damn often. I think I recall at one point I randomly grabbed my phone to have it by me and noticed that someone was calling me but it wasn't ringing at all, though the screen did light up. I made sure my settings do have have "Do Not Disturb" mode on. I have the CPH2451 and running stock with latest OTA A.10 update. After doing a brief Google search, I see that OnePlus has had issues in the past but those are from the OnePlus3 and OnePlusNord so I am not sure if that's still relevant in this day and age.
Anyone experiencing something similar or have any clues as to what might be going on?
Edited: Fat fingered the model #. Fixed.

This might be obvious to you, so just ignore if you know this.
When holding your phone in your hand like you're texting in portrait mode, there's a switch top right and on side of phone.
Adjust the switch so it's down.
Ive experienced this, even after swapping to 2449.
Seems theres a couple settings that revert on reboots for some odd reason.
Just go into the phone app settings, notifications and reset thr ring tone and all set after 2 times doing it ... annoying?? damn right!... but at least its fixable ....

That's so dumb... The more I use this phone, the more I get buyer's remorse.
I haven't restarted my phone since I got it I think but I'll try that and see if the issue persists. Thanks!
Edit: Any word if OnePlus is aware of this and plans on fixing it? If not, perhaps I should forward this to them.

don't know if they are aware. just to add to the weirdness of it... for me... after the second time, the setting sticks...
i have this problem with my 8 pro, the phone doesn't ring and i think it goes straight to VM? seems like something broke with one of the latest OP updates?
There's no such version as CPH2541.
And here it works perfectly. Factory reset and try again.
