Traditional 3 button navigation
Anyone beside me still use the 3 button navigation option? I often find the current apps (right most) button unresponsive, and often the "learn more" button on facebook pages unresponsive. Using gesture navigation works fine but not button...

When using the toolbar with The three button control, I am finding difficulties navigating. Often the open app button is unresponsive and clicking on "see more" buttons on the Facebook app is unresponsive. Everything works fine with gesture navigation but not the toolbar. I've tried it with 3 different launchers at it makes no difference. Anyone else experience this?

even with the use of sbp for full screen on internet explorer it would be nice to be able to hide the scroll bar and use the navigation buttons of the blue angel . I know when you click on the navigation buttons it moves to the next link but sometimes when clicking you jump half way down the page or have to click a hundred times just scroll down. So it would be best if when pressing the navigation buttons it produced a smooth scroll.
Any ideas???
*bump* sorry!!!!!!
Has anyone else found that they don't have the three dedicated buttons on the bottom of the home page for Browser, Launcher and Phone, as was advertised in the Froyo features?
Mine still has the normal "Up arrow" on the left that goes to All Apps, the big "Phone" button in the middle, and the "+" button on the right to add an object to the home page (all exactly the same as in 2.1).
Is it just me, or is this the case with everyone? Can we get the new buttons? If so, how?
Hello everyone,
I feel incredibly stupid for having to ask this and take up a whole thread, but I have searched to no avail, and this seemed the most appropriate place to ask.
I am simply wanting to access "my apps" in the Amazon App Store, but can't get there since Amazon hasn't worked in a on-screen menu button.
I am running ParanoidAndroid.
Thanks in advanced,

Re-enable the nav-bar.
Or re-enable the nav-bar options button if you disabled it.
It'll show the usual three vertical dots when an app doesn't have native ICS menu buttons.
If I remember correctly, Paranoid Android's menu button is inside of the Recents button. Pretty unconventional but saves nav bar space.
Whenever you see the 3 horizontal dots inside of the recent apps button, long-press until the menu pops up.
Sent from the future.
That did the trick! I'm glad I'm not going crazy!
If you look at the screenshot of Dolphin browser there is a black bar with 3 dots on it.
I'm not sure what made it appear, but its functionality is:
1) open settings for some applications (dolphin, golauncher).
2) not do anything for some applications even though it shows up.
3) annoys the crap out of me because I want it gone. It blocks a big amount of screen.
I don't know what caused it to appear, I've never seen it before. I was updating my phone and installing some applications when I suddenly noticed it.
Edit:
Attachment is not showing up for me so here's an upload on tinypic: http://i50.tinypic.com/equt75.png
That's the 3-dot menu button.
Go to Settings - Display, gestures & buttons - Recent apps button
and pick either Press for menu, press and hold for recent apps
or Press for recent apps, press and hold for menu
I personally use the second one, long press the recent apps button will bring up the menu

Click to collapse
You'll see it in apps that haven't been optimised for ICS (or higher) yet. On phones without a hardware menu key, correctly coded apps will display an overflow button somewhere on their action bar to access the menu. Apps which haven't been coded in this way need some other method of accessing the menu - phones with on-screen buttons (like the nexus range) display a menu button beside the other buttons, we obviously can't do that so HTC chose to stick a massive menu bar across the bottom of the screen. As already pointed out you can reassign the menu function to the 'recent apps' key which will hide the menu bar, or you can pester the devs of those apps to do things properly in future.
Oh my god. Thanks guys!
I looked everywhere but couldn't fix it!
Hi friends.
I use my Fire Phone 3 day. I like this device very much.
Have one question, Can I hide two buttons at the bottom of the screen, when I open up panel and push power button. This two buttons is worthless for me.
Check attachments if you don't understand me..
P.S. Bad English, sry
The menu bar should be on auto hide... It never pops up for me, only in 2 very old apps I tested in the past. The menu bar can't be configured in the settings, AFAIK, did I miss something?
When the Amazon home launcher is used, the menu bar pops up for 1 sec. if the home button is pressed, but it doesn't pop up when the panel is active. The menu bar doesn't pop up if a custom launcher is used.
P.S. English is good... good enough. :good:
No. I don't use custom launcher .
It is stock.
Dont you have it button?
OK, I understood you. Thank you
I've never seen that with stock launcher. I have seen it with a couple of custom launchers including hola launcher where it popped up all the time.
