Hello,
I have a problem with the "Do not disturb" function in Oxygenos 12. I used the Do not disturb function in Oxygenos 11 and had no problems. Now in Oxygenos 12, with the same settings (no exceptions for messages), I get notifications like WhatsApp, email, but with sound. In Oxygenos 11, the notifications were muted. What am I doing wrong?
Only solution to Activa your dnd is in digital wellbeing.
Turn on bed time mode and Activate dnd in it then your dnd will work fine. But you wont receive any notification in that time, notification will be received once your bed time is over or you pause the bed time mode.

Just like the title says, how do I mute the sounds on my Nexus 7 but still receive notifications in the notification panel? Right now, if I mute the device, it goes into "alarms only" mode and I don't get notifications.
I can mute the alarm sound but I still get notifications! Maybe it's another bug! Did you clean install Marshmallow or did OTA?
I think you misread my post. I don't want the alarm sound muted; I want the notifications sound muted. It's not a bug, it's a feature of Marshmallow that I'm just not familiar with how to setup properly. I came from CM 12.1 and on that ROM you could just turn the volume down to 0 without any sort of Do Not Disturb mode activating.
I just want the device to be silent, but still receive all my notifications on the notification bar.
I've noticed that if you have your phone's sound set to vibrate, then there's no ringtone or vibration when you're in Android Auto connected to your vehicle. This wasn't the case with my Nexus 6 on Nougat. Is anyone else experiencing this behavior? The call will be missed if you don't happen to see the call on your car's display screen. The only way to change the volume at this point is to disconnect from AA and set it, then reconnect. I would expect that the phone should defer to the volume set on the car once connected.
Yes. I had a similar situation last night, a text message came in and the only notification was the the on-screen popup. On my last phone it would send a notification via the car speakers.
Try going into the Do not Disturb settings, and under automatic rules, toggle Driving off. I haven't had a chance to test my notifications in the car since turning this off, but I do remember reading about this being a "feature" of Oreo, I think. Seems like a pain in the ass to me.

Android Auto should completely override the automatic driving mode in DND. In reality Android Auto's notification setting should supersede all other notification settings.
Hi there,
I have a Pixel XL, stock on Android 8.0.0. The problem is that i still get calls and messages from Viber when DND is active.
I've played around with the App and DND settings. Ensured that override DND is not active, ensured i'm not mistaken and are receiving calls from starred contacts. I even get calls when i completely turn off all notifications for the app.
I also have a Galaxy S8 for work, on Android 7.0, and Viber obeys the DND settings on this device.
Has anyone else had any issues with apps not obeying DND rules on Pixel?
Cheers
Hi Guys,
I just moved on from my beloved S7 Edge to the S9 with Android Pie 9.0. Loving the phone absolutely except for this annoying issue with whatsapp notification settings.
Basically, when I put my phone into silent mode (Vibrate only) for calls and texts, and my whatsapp also starts vibrating for messages even though the in-app settings for vibration is set to off. The phone's settings are overriding whatsapp's notifcation settings for vibration.
Any idea????
same issue, reinstall dont solves...
Same problem here. Any solution?
So I've had my watch on silent for months. No issues. Notifications come through , the watch just vibrates. No "sound " alert
Today , notifications stop working. Cannot work out why. Turn the volume up a notch and they start coming through. Go back to silent, stops them
This hasn't happened until now ...surely you can choose to just have the watch vibrate for notifications??
