Oh boy you've got it all wrong.
When a custom rom is installed, it replaces the stock one. So, to get back to stock rom, you need to install it in order to replace the custom one.

It is a possible case. If you wipe the current rom and don't install another one, you'd have nothing to boot into. On my Galaxy it boots to download mode, idk what it does on xiaomi devices

This is a full flashable build of 4.0.4 AOSP I compiled myself.
There are absolutely no tweaks of any kind, this is full stock.
Download
You can download it here: https://faramir.eriador.org/r/full-maguro-ota-en.4.0.4.zip
Installation
It can be installed with CWM.
Wipe
You should not need to wipe (except maybe cache). That said if you have weird issues, like accounts not syncing, try wiping.
I installed it over CM9 without wiping, but your mileage may vary.
If you come from pre 4.0.3 ROMs, please wipe.
Google Apps
gapps are not installed, so you will have to flash them too. You can use my mirror at https://faramir.eriador.org/r/gapps-ics-20120317-signed.zip
Please prefer the version of google apps you were already using, otherwise you will more than probably need a wipe.
Root
Note that this is stock, hence there is no superuser, you will have to install superuser and su by hand like on a stock rom.
Here is a mirror for it: https://faramir.eriador.org/r/su_ICS_GN.zip
Kernels
It should be compatible with all 4.0.3 custom kernels although I only tested FuguMod (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1438417)
RECOVERY WARNING
This is full stock, which means if you keep the original kernel, it will reflash stock recovery at first boot.

Yes, it's fully stock, the google way
Real OTA image from google is not available yet, so this is what looks like it the most.
It's mainly for those who want to have real 4.0.4 now without waiting and without losing CWM or making a wipe.
Thanks thats what i want, good job

As I posted in the OP, you need to flash gapps. It's forbidden to distribute them (at least included in a ROM).

How did you flash the ROM?
I also flashed it together with Gapps, su and FuguMod R200.
I didn't loose recovery and also I can connect without any issues on Wifi and mobile data.

I have put links to gapps and su in the OP
Soo.. is it best to just wait for another stock rom with a kernel that has a recovery... or just flash this?
This rom will not overwrite existing recovery partition.

You can flash FuguMod before booting, it will not wipe your recovery.
The problem is within the init.rc:
Code:
service flash_recovery /system/etc/install-recovery.sh
class main
oneshot
This is stock behavior.
Hey guys can I flash this over the AOKP Mod I have installed? If so, how?
I do not find meaningful replace the stock ... what's the point? Then, after a day or puts the CM9 o another aopk ..... mistake?

Few hours before this post I flashed a rooted version of android 4.3 from the thread by "Carlos_Manuel". However, following that the supersu was not working I flashed the supersu binaries over the ROM from TWRP. Since then, it is stuck in boot loop at the Google Logo. Tried flashing PA, Sourcery, CM but nothing seems to work. What should I do?

Fix it by flashing factory images! do a full wipe, you can get imprtant stuff from your Nexus by using adb pull commands!
Users was blaming me when they screwed their Nexus with the root files!
I can successfully even flash old root files and no bootloops but ofc. root wont work if using those old root files.
OP, did you factory reset between ROM flashes?

Ok, I am paranoid and want to be sure about this. I am in the same boat as the OP. I have a 32gb toro on twrp 2.5. You cant use the stock images they are for gsm not toro/cdma, have to use a custom zip only one is that light speed one in development right now I am waiting for muzzys but, full wipe, flash rom, gapps, supersu.

If you tried wiping just cache/dalvik after the flash I dont know there may be another way to get it to boot or not but yeah the factory image will start it over fresh and get you out of it

OK, so I went into TWRP 2.6.0.0 and tried to flash CM 10.2. It came up with an error so I restored using the backup I had made, and after the restore it told me that root permissions had been lost, and asked if I wanted to fix it. I swiped to rix root permissions, and now it doesn't seem to be able to boot up.
It gets through the boot animation fine, bu gets stuck on the final screen where it flashes SAMSUNG across the screen. I can boot back into TWRP and have tried wiping data and starting fresh, installing a different ROM, everything I can to try to get it to start fresh, but the phone always gets stuck at the same screen flashing SAMSUNG.
Any ideas of what I should do to remedy this problem??

Hopefully I can get a fast response here, I did that, but got a warning "No OS installed" before rebooting. Is that just telling me no ROM installed or does that literally mean that there is not an OS on the phone anymore? The second option seems unlikely but I don't want to risk it and mess things up even further.

well after you wipe everything including system you need to install a rom. IF your NOT currently OTA updated to 4.3 use billard's zip:::::
[ROM/RESTORE][!MD4 OTA!](5-10)Quick Return to UNROOTED STOCK WITH FLASH COUNT RESET
Wipe everything :/system
Flash billards zip
Flash root.zip to keep root
Flash recovery zip to keep custom recovery
reboot

OK, I'll try to find a ROM to install really quickly just in case, but the problem comes in somehow I get an error on every single ROM I try to install, still don't know the issue, as I have installed many ROMs on my One without issue (this is my mom's S3, she just wants tethering to be a native feature on her phone.)

If that's the case, I'd recommend this ROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2549136 I installed the SPHL710_ALLINONE_MK3_ODEX_12-04-2013_1030pm.zip which includes the latest stock 4.3 without all the KNOX stuff and with native tethering.
It also wipes the system partition for you.

Shouldnt be getting any errors installing/switching roms if your wiping correctly, If native tether is all your after then most if not all custom roms come with it enabled or you can keep stock rom and just flash the hotspot mod [MOD][Deodex][Odex][MB1][MC3][MD4][MK3]Hotspot Mod - Working 4G

I'm just as confused as anyone as to why I'm getting errors. The phone has proper root access and is running on TWRP, the same recovery I use on my One, and I have done at least 50-60 flashes of ROMs on that phone, without issue. I keep getting virtually the same error, something wrong with executing the updater binary in zip.

you may try to install it through the recovery. Download the zip file, go into recovery, wipe data & cache, install the zip and reboot. See if it works.
By the way your device is not CDMA right because the rom you tried will not work there. Also by not installing what exactly happens?

So by not installing what happens? When you install it it shows some error? Or it installs but would not boot? Also if it shows some error in recovery please mention it. And another way is to try another recovery like TWRP.

It is bricking but just soft bricking. At first it should take some time during first boot but not more than 5-10 minutes. Are you sure you gave that time. and another alternative would to try with a different ROM. For gingerbread you may try sense 3.5 or any other rom.

Do I have to install stock rom and erase data before the new custom rom or can I just install the new custom rom above to previous one?
Thank you.

I would personally back up anything I wanted then flash the new rom boot.img and try to dirty flash it. If it got messed up then I would do as above. I am still crazy though and 9/10 you need a wipe when switching.

I get it. I hate clean flashing more than anything, but pretty much no custom ROMs allow for dirty installs except for over the same ROM these days. Even over the same doesn't always work well especially if the build was dirty. Not worth the extra effort trying to figure out and fix what broke on a cross-rom dirty flash, IMO.

True, but lots of people have extra time nowadays. I would say just always make sure you back up somehow before any switch. Be ready to wipe your device clean.
Thank you for your replys.
I'm not an english speaking personn, so if i understand:
The normal way to switch two customs roms is to "transit" by the stock rom and clear all data and then install rhe new custom rom.
The other way, would be dirty flash the new custom rom above the previous custom rom (with loss data possible so a bachup is needed).
