hi everyone, I am a noob here and don't know how to put my question across so that it makes sense and people with experience can make me understand the difference.
I have been using custom Roms almost since a month after I bought my n7100. It was a little scary initially but I became more confident and as such haven't had any major issues. Let me come to the point without further ado :-
I had been running Phoenix rom v 18.8 till recently, before I changed to Dr. Ketan's rom v.8. While on phoenix rom the apps like game CIH and game guardian or game killer were working perfectly but on Dr. Ketan's rom even though I get the su prompt and grant the app superuser rights it still gives a message saying my device is not rooted!!
I know both these Roms like most others are pre-rooted which means the apps should work on both. This kind of issue has bn coming up since 4.3 where again in a pre-rooted rom some apps wouldn't recognize root and some simply said access denied even though I have granted it when supersu pops up to ask whether to allow the app or not. I was hoping Dr. Ketan Hindocha or Tamirda will be able to tell me what the difference is and how I can have the same access as I have with phoenix rom, in other Roms as well.
I know both Dr. Ketan and tamirda are some of the great ppl out here who have made android fun but due to this I didn't think I should disturb them with my question as they are already hard pressed for time releasing Roms and providing support. I would be grateful if someone could tell me how I can make it work in any rom just like it does with phoenix.
I hope my question makes sense and look forward to your advice and suggestions. I apologize for posting in a wrong manner or at the wrong place if I have unconsciously done that.
Thanks, centaur31 ciao 4 now
Hi. I have installed Official Cyanogenmod 11 nightly on my G Pad for the first time and found xbmc doesn't work well. The stream keeps pausing and buffering.
Had tried monthly before and had the same problem with xbmc and SPORT TV Multiscreen
Both work well on stock rooted and non-rooted.
Does this happen with other custom roms?
Any solution?
So I just rooted and installed TWRP on my Tab Pro 8.4. Now I would like to install a clean KK, de-bloated and deoxed stock ROM or anything close to it. I see a few of them in the ROM section but it seems they have been either abandoned by the developer or just simply not ready for mass consumption. I use this tablet for work so I can't really afford to experiment endlessly, so I was hopping you guys can suggest a good working ROM or point me in the right direction. Thanks for any help.

I've been running this for about 6 months with no problems:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2706921
I got this SM-P600 last year for my birthday, I shortly rooted it then installed a ROM and went on my merry way.
There have always been a couple nagging issues with the rom, infrequent random restarting and blanking out my lockscreen and homescreen wallpapers.
Its on the ND2 bootloader but the "fingerprint" says NH3 release-keys, so NH3 firmware I assume.
It is rooted, twrp 2.5 or 2.6 I think.
I just want to get the firmware updated and install a stable rom on it since the restarting and wiping away wallpaper is really getting on my nerves lately.
I have been out of the tweaking and modding environment for almost a year now and I don't know where to pick up again.
So I am looking for advice and opinions.
I need to find a firmware only page, or a way to update the firmware easily, or am I missing something here?
I'd like to hear about a couple roms people out there are using, why you use it and how long?
I'd like to know if I need to have the bootloader and firmware be the same version and if that might be why I am having issues.
Can anyone point me to the right place?
Hmm, I only root and run stock roms with some minor housekeeping, so cannot help you with your ROM issues. I would imagine though that anybody who could will need to know WHAT ROM you installed.
In the meantime, the best thread I know of for you to gather information is the one at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2723420 ... Its an ALL-IN-ONE thread for the Note 10.1 (2014 edition). Please not though that the forum rules stipulate it is only for information sharing, not for questions, so you may want to visit there, catch up as best you can and then come back here with more specific questions...
Is there any reason you don't want to use stock? I ask because based on what you are saying, it doesn't appear that you chose a custom ROM with any particular intentions, but rather because ... well, apparently custom is awesome If you don't need anything particular, you will be much better off just running a rooted stock with some debloating to keep things spiffy. As of now, I believe the P600 is still on 4.4.4, for which root should be available. The LTE versions started receiving 5.1.1 updates last week and while it is quite awesome to run the latest lollipop, no root as of yet.

HI
I have installed CM11 on my firephone thanks to all the good people at XDA.
However, I am continuing to have problems with my camera. I do miss the good quality camera the fireOS had access to.
I was reading some threads where people were discussing using Safestrap and installing a different android ROM on to a ROM slot and having a dual boot system
I am wondering whether it would be possible to install the the FireOS (which would allow me to have the camera back) on a separate ROM slot while keeping CM11 as the stock ROM. I have customized my CM11 to just the way want it and I am not keen to get rid of that and completely revert back to FireOS.
I was hoping I would be able to boot into Fire Os when I need to use the camera but to use the CM 11 for day to day stuff.
Forgive me if the question is too stupid and if it is 'obviously' impossible to do it.
Thanks in advance
