I was wondering what is the difference in A4 for EMEA, does it activate VoLTE/5G for unsupported countries or just a code name?

All seems well with no issues, but if this is the case perhaps I should flash this European one

I flashed A1 at first myself and it seemed to be fine but when I noticed that A4 was for UK, IRL,FR, DE etc I went and flashed A4 to be safe. No issues as of yet.
On my pixel 6 pro 256gb from the German Google store via ota it automatically downloaded the A1 firmware ... I don't notice any kind of problem though ....

I bought it on eBay from someone claiming they live in the U.S. but it came from Japan. So as long as they rollout the update to Japan I should get it too?

Im in Korea, using MNVO telecom based on KT. No updates for EMUI 10 either from the phone or through the Hi-Care app on Windows. I have set my phome country location to China, some countries in Europe, and back to Korea and nothing seems to work. Meanwhile other users with the same exact phone have already received and upgraded their phones... This is a major bummer

I have P30 ELE-L29 C431E4R2P2 and i live in România. I saw that EMUI 10 had been released for P30 series but i didn't receive it so i asked Huawei Romania about it and thay said that this "particular" model will receive the update in January 2020 and it will be released in batches so it may take until February when my phone will received it. What a bad joke is Huawei right now, others received already android 10 only because they had a different region, and here my unbranded P30 which is identical on hardware level with every other P30 it will receive the update only in January-February next year just because i have a different region.

I called Huawei customer service a few days ago to inquire about the update. I was told that the United States is NOT getting EMUI 10...... EVER! I hope it's not true.

the way I made it was to get an SIM of China's Carrier on ebay or borrow one from your friend. Swap the SIM and check the update, the system will do OTA in a few minutes. Do turn off the data and use Wi-Fi. I guess the trick is Huawei's OS assumes your phone are now in China or other regions, so they will push the update to your phone directly. I successfully made it on three models, P30Pro, Mate 20x, and Mate 20x 5G.

Did you get the update directly from huawei OTA without any tweaks suggested on XDA?
It doesn't matter your location as much as what region build number you have. None of these are meant for USA market. Mine is C185 and I finally received Android 10 last night.

I downloaded the HiSuite app from Huawei to my computer and clicked update to get Android 10 on my Mate 20X.

That didnt work either, it says that 9.0.0 with security patch dated May 5th 2019 is up to date.

Same here. I just received the update yesterday.
I read some monthes ago that middle east model aka c185 were to be updated to March 2020, so that's it.
No problem so far, everything migrated OK including desktop software Nova and even Ubikitouch (gesture replacement).
Great job Huawei.
9.0 was running perfect so I hope it will be the same for 10.0

I'm gonna buy a S20 Ultra in China and I would like to change the Chinese ROM with the South Korean ROM or if is not possible with the Hong Kong one.
I know that some Chinese, to save money, buy HK mobiles and change the ROM to Chinese so I think should be possible do the opposite, I think they share the same hardware.
In case is it possible I would prefer the South Korea ROM coz probably it will have faster updates..
Do you know if South Korean and Chinese S20 have exactly the same hardware? To install the Korean ROM hiw can I do? Is it simple and I can do by myself? Do you have any tips?

I don't know about the S20, but I did exactly that with the S10+ (which had a Snapdragon 855 and identical specs across both HK and Chinese version).
It worked better with HK since it didn't have as much bloatware or google restrictions...and english can be made to be default.
I just got my S20+ and will probably be trying this soon as well. Stay tuned.

I'm interested too if it is possible to flash a HK ROM on another snapdragon s20+ (SM-G986N). The problem is that the Korean version has bloatware from KT. I did manage to disable most of them, but I would be happier if can come without bloatware out of the box

Mine is KT branded and I know it has more bloatware than HK version. I think if you manage to get KOR national CSC it will be better. Mine is KTC and I haven't managed to change the CSC by flashing KOR version with Odin

You can Switch between China, HK and Taiwan with no problems but not to Korea since it has a different model number.

Yes you can but there is no google services and there are a lot of bloatware but one benefit is you get the call recorder.
