I think it's because ColorOS is meant for Chinese OP phones and I have read that a lot of Chinese based phones like Oppo or Xaomi phones have had issues with Android Auto in general.

I think I got it working by going into App Management and giving it all permissions beforehand and making sure I click Transfer file / Android Auto once plugging it in.

Yeah, I had the same issue.
The fix is to enable developer settings and under USB set it to do file transfer instead of charging.

But I follow this when connecting cable. I have tried all three options charging and storage. Isn't that same doing it from usb debugging

So android auto is working perfectly for you in cos 12?. If so did you install app from playstore and it worked just like that after giving permission?

No I never got it working on cos 12. Sorry I meant that is what I had to do on OxygenOS 12. I dont think it will work on cos 12. Or at least I haven't read about a fix anywhere.

Yeah sorry :/ not getting Android Auto on cos 12 was the main reason why I went back to OxygenOS 12. Not facing any of the issues that others are mentioning.

How did you update?
Did you get the update normally? I used a VPN to get it since it was not yet being offered directly. And now I have this bug as well. So I wanted to see if it's happening to everyone or just people who updated with a VPN.

It's not about how you updated, it's because of the used build which is the same like the first released beta build.

That's kind of the point of my question. Did me using vpn somewhy cause me to get the beta build for some strange reason or a mistake on their end? or is this build being OTA'd normally to other people as a stable update in some regions?

Its been great for me so far! I didn't noticed any bugs or I didn't aware of it.
Should i downgrade? Is it a security issue?

No stay.
Downgrading has a risk of data loss
I am assuming that that the jew update may have different pda and csc in which case you might get OTA update
If everything is working as it should, keep using it

I also updated to 10. main issues was battery drain, like titanic. Rolled back with Odin to 9. It is super now, batter life is awesome on 9.
You can google the "how to"

There are apps that can backup your contacts and messages and call logs without root.
Use those
Copy entire internal storage to external SD card. This way you can save your games and app data.after rolling back simply reinstall those apps and repaste the copied data back to internal storage and most of your apps would work flawlessly.
You can backup whatsapp on Google drive and restore from there.
For rolling back use Odin to flash stock android 9.
It is a but of Hassle but according to many users, it's worth it

Motorola G5G Plus Android 11 Problem

Hello
Before few days ago, i received official ota update to android 11 of my motorola g5g plus.
I was very happy, that finally the android 11 is here and immediately updated my device(big big mistake)
After the update process, my phone start to be more and more laggy.I use it only at 90hz refresh rate and sometimes when i use it is goes on frames, which is madness..
I am really unhappy about that..I don't want to factory reset my phone.
Any possible way to resolve this lag issue or return easy to android 10 and never update again?
I do not play games or other heavy stuffs..
just ebay calls browsing nothing so heavy...
ideas guys?
You could use the Moto Flash Tool to flash the latest version of 10 - note that you'll (very probably) have to do a data wipe when asked to avoid problems afterwards.
To be sure, I'd check with @vache as to whether a downgrade is possible, but I don't see why not.

Check in settings for blur, and turn it off and see if that helps. Sorry, I don't use stock so I'm not sure exactly where it is. Developer settings maybe, or display

Sad news again.Phone become laggy again even on only 90hz refresh rate with turned off blur.Yesterday the phone work fine, today i woke up and surprise lagging on normal stuffs like scroling across the screen or open menu app and etc.I am almost sure that it run on less than 60hz.Absolutely dissapointing....
Thank you motorola.Last phone from this brand...

Question Android auto

Anybody having issues with android auto? When connected I get black screen. If there's a fix please provide thx in advance
OP9P has known issues with android auto. For some people, setting USB mode to file transfer or PTP helps. Disabling USB debugging can help. Lineage OS and some other non-OOS based ROMs don't have the issue. This is one of the major reasons Im on lineage
For me, AA was working with OOS, but every time I connected the phone to my car via USB, I had to change the connection mode (only charging/file transfer/ptp…) once plugged in to "stabilize" the connection, or else it it would keep connecting/disconnecting.
Now I'm on LineageOS 18.1, and AA was not working but it was a Gapps package flashing problem with Nikgapps (the full package, or flashing the AA addon was needed, but I encounter a flashing problem because of a full memory that can be solved by configuration) .
Once fixed, AA is working but I still have the work-around to do to stabilize the connection.

What configuration change did you make to fit the full nikgapps? I tried changing install partition to /system but it still said it was full and fails

Just that, setting InstallPartition=/system in nikgapps.config and flashing the full nikgapps from twrp.

hmm I wonder if twrp vs lineage recovery makes a difference. And you placed the config file by just using `adb push nikgapps.config /sdcard/NikGapps/nikgapps.config` ?

Also which TWRP are you using? I know there is one in the forums but I remember seeing mention of a different build people were recommending
For me on wireless Android Auto, it's been fine for the most part on latest OOS. Just thought I'd mention.

There was already the config file on my system from installing the basic Nikgapps. I was not authorized to modify it from my file manager in Android (I may have forgotten to try and do it with the root access activated), so I changed it from the file manager of TWRP.
I try to solve my AA problem by different ways before succeeding with the config modification.
I first try to flash the full Nikgapps then only the AA addon with adb sideload on the LineageOS recovery. The install was failing with the full message. The system was still booting, but some Google app where closing unexpectedly.
I then installed TWRP, and try to do the same thing, still failing. I tried to flash mindthegapp but it failed also. Then @iNikhilMenghani (the Nik from Nikgapps) told me on telegram to set the InstallPartition settings, and flashing the full Nikgapps worked.

Just to be sure, you need a recent car with Wi-Fi that is compatible with AA Wireless. If it's your case, I'll let others help because my car is not compatible with wireless.

My redmi 8 needed an update, I downloaded it, I restarted it, then the screen went black and no longer turned on
Before restarting, my cell phone said that if it was not compatible I would have to restart manually (data / system / updates)

Why are you convinced that it need an update ?
if your phone is working fine = leave it alone
updates are the main reasons of apps FC and bootloops ...
Yep, like age old wisdom: if it works, don't fix it...
