Question Built-in Document scanner working? - Google Pixel 6 Pro

Has anyone been able to get the built-in document scanner to work on the camera app? I try to point at documents and it never pops up at all. This feature was almost flawless on the S21 ultra I had. It's little things like this that makes me wish I kept the S21 ultra. Samsung builds in features that takes Google years to implement in the pixels. Depending on what the S22 ultra ends up having, I may have to switch back.
It's the same with the scrolling screenshot. It barely works on Google and with only select apps. Samsung's scrolling screenshot works way better.

I don't think you can with the native camera app they must have removed it for Android 12. You may need to use Google Drive as you can scan documents and go from there.

I think in general you can always use Google Lens on any image, or even if you don't and you have a picture of a document, Google Photos has sometimes OCR'd the photo so that you can select text, etc. You can start with Google PhotoScan to get a proper straight and flat looking document without glare.

Here's an example (this is using Google Photos on the computer, after I took a screenshot on my phone).
"Copy text from image" in the upper right corner, and the result in the lower image:

many apps/windows in the phone appear to be ''zoomed out''

been having this problem with the december 04 and december 7 builds of the NRG phoenix ROMs. the phone runs great, but after at some point after a reset the soft key menus change. i have finger menus turned off, but the stock menu goes from being regular sized to a small size. on top of that, many of the system settings seem to change as well. the size of emails in my inbox seems like they're zoomed out, not just the size of the font...but instead of viewing say 8 emails in my inbox per page, i'll view like 15. and when i load emails w/ pictures the pictures are much much smaller than usual. it basically looks like tons of things on the phone are zoomed out. anyone know what could be causing this?

You changed your theme to one with smaller items. Simply go to Start>Settings>Today and choose EnergyROM_Ver2, EnergyROM_TranspSoftkeys, or EnergyROM_Plus (but not EnergyROM_Original). The reason everything looks small is because you're using a theme made for pre-6.5.1/6.5.3 devices, instead of one of the 6.5.x themes with larger items, which most of the EnergyROM themes are.
oh yeah, that was it. thanx a lot. not sure why, but on the nov 19th version it didn't change this at all. even though its the same theme, or so i thought. either way, thanx

[R] A better multitasking concept

Hello devs & m8 users! I've got a question to you.
After moving from 4.4 to lollipop I was frustrated to its multitasking scrolling slides. After a month I'm almost got used to it, but have a concept of how it could be slightly better.
Since sense5 HTC got a very neat multitasking feature with the windows of running apps composed in a grid:
{

"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
It was great to use your phone on the go, not going to many moves
Today using lollipop slides it is sometimes very hard to find the exact app you need - most of the card slides are used by chrome windows, or a mess of ungrouped apps. So I thought it would be great to compose them in single "slide cards folder" - you just simply swipe from left to right, browsing through them, the way HTC realised the whole multitask in sense4:
It is also possible to combine other apps in "slide folders" with their lables related to google play - for example a photo "folder" where apps like "pixlr, instagram, snapseed..." are held, email progs - another "folder" to slide", games, sports... etc.
I believe that this raw concept can bring an order to the mess of opened proramms & give people more user-friendly experince.
What do you think about this thing, guys? And is this even possible to code?

Use of macros to launch actions through Contacts (by call)

The main idea is to call a fake contact which triggers the previously configurated actions.
Steps to configure it:
1- Create the contact
2- Add it to favorites from Huawei Health
3- Create the action
(I used MacroDroid, in this case the Trigger is Dialing the phone number and the action is Plugin Locale / Tasker> Yeelight
4- I am still watching how to automatically hang up the call
View the results: Macro / Watch

We will have up to 10 contacts (10 actions, in principle) assigned to invented numbers.
For those who have enough smart devices at home, this is surely good news. You spend less time, you don't have to go and get the phone, and also you feel that your GT 2 is a little less limited.
Let's hope Huawei integrates a keyboard, note manager (text and voice), besides the ability to answer messages or interact with notifications.
In the meantime, I think this method can play a good role.

Question Is there any way to disable the "tablet flag" in the inner screen?

The external screen behaves as a regular phone screen, but the inner/main/foldable screen behaves as a tablet screen, which changes some apps behavior a bit. For example Opera shows tabs in that mode, unlike the fullscreen layout of the "phone mode", and Youtube does not go fullscreen when you turn the phone, instead it just rotate the video screen (like a webpage).
Is there a way to force the "phone mode" in this screen? IMO it is not big enough to act as a tablet.

I don't think that setting tells Android that you want phone resolution so that apps present differently. This setting is more for Samsung-modified apps and global settings screens can split navigation, erc.
It was exactly that, unfortunately I also liked the split view in some apps
Thank you Atthorpe.

Right?, I wish they would make it so we could choose which we wanted per app
