Why I can't install EU ROM on my RMX1991? (bought in China)

So, I noticed on the official Realme Software Uptade site that they rolled out eu ROM for Realme X2, tried to install it with stock recovery and nothing really happened, It says installation failed on chinese and that's all. I think that's similar to TWRp error 7, when you re trying to install rom from another phone, but these one are the same phones! WTF, Realme? What's the freaking difference between RMX1991 and RMX1993??? How to flash global rom on RMX1991, that's the main question. Please help.
Try to decript the ozip firmware and edit the updater script. Change the 1993 to 1991.

So there's no point in changing the phone number in ROM s files to rmx1991 from rmx1993. Also, I had an idea to remove the script from ROM's files that check if the phone is compatible with the ROM. Will this work?

You should give a try. First thing to do, its to decript the Global Rom and change the updater script. If you succeed it will now be a flashable rom and use it with unofficial TWRP.
RMX1991 and RMX1993 have different radios as far as mobile data goes, right?
For example, my Chinese (RMX1991) is said to have: B1/B3/B4/B5/B8 + B34/B38/B39/B40/B41
While the 1993 Global Version is said to have Bands 1/3/5/7/8/20/28 (i.e. no 4 but also has 7, 20 and 28)
For me this likely means different drivers.

Its most likely they have different software configuration between 1991 and 1993 but i think they share the same hardware inside. The only way to find out if the firmware is compatible between two is to get the flashing thing done..

You're right, that's the only way. I had xiaomi redmi 5 plus, note 5, note 7, all Chinese versions, but I installed global ROM on every single one without a problem. I hope for Realme it will work. Everything I need is a working TWRP.

"same hardware inside" ??? That would be awesome because it would be great to have LTE Band7 in my country but I was too quick to order the Chinese version before the Global version existed.
Hi folks,
it is not possible to flash unmodified ozip from 1993 on 1991 because there's a version check.
It is not possible to flash unmodified system image because there's partition size difference. All system+bloatware files of 1993 are larger than the system partition size of 1991. So you need to debloat and resize system image before flashing it to 1991. But after flashing boot and resized system from 1993 to 1991 some extra modifications needed. For now I do not know what are they. But for sure this will be resolved, sooner or later.

That's a good thing. Although I was ready to search for someone to sell this phone, I think I will wait some more time for a good solution.
Thank you @yakovpol. @KrinN I was also thinking about selling this phone and ordering the Global version as I was also too fast buying the Chinese version before the Global version was available.
My thinking was "Oh, this is the same thing as Xiaomi. You buy the Chinese version and just install the Global ROM. Yeah right... Boy was I wrong...
Hopefully the developers will find a workaround to flash the Global ROM on to the CN version.
Thank you all for your efforts.
guyz i dont really see why you want to change 1991 to 1993?(literally)
I bought the 1991 and after uninstalling the bloatware and the apps i dont need... its working like a charm!!! so really is there a difference between these two? id be grateful if someone explains it!! Thanks

Call Recorder for EMUI 10.1/Android 10-Finally Working Official File!

Here is the link to the official version of the Call Recorder for Android 10/EMUI 10.1 for Mate 20X and possibly other Mate or P series phones. I have installed it on my Mate 20 X 5G EVR-N29 and is running with no issues. You do not need to modify any files or root your phone. Just download and install.
Also, when downloading the file, if the file extension is .bin, just rename the file extension to .apk and install.
Thank you to Huawei and the users of the relevant sources below for sharing this really useful utility. Now we can all enjoy using the Mate 20x 5G even more. Lets hope someone can fix the battery drain on the 5G Model too. This is probably the single most important issue facing the 5G model.
Enjoy!

Hello. I'm having an issue. I installed this but when I press record it says: Memory card error. Recording saved to: storage/emulated/0/Sounds/CallrecIord/"filename".m4a but it doesn't record anything and the file is not saved either. My model is EVR-L29 and Emui 10.1.0.252 (C432E7R1P7) and the phone app version is 10.1.0.311

An interesting phenomenon to report. Last night I stopped playing with the settings. Looked at the dialler screen during my first call this morning and found that call recording was in progress, without any further change... Also, the recorder plays it nicely, so I don't have to go and find the recording.
Thanks for the contributors and the entire community for this.

Rolling out to India first so maybe some fellow Indian OnePlus owners may give their observations. Otherwise, we will have to wait for further rollout.

I couldnt find any change. Phone is still heating in doing normal work. Battery is still draining fast. Had to turn off 120hz and AOD. Not expected from such an expensive phone.
Call quality is good and network reception is also good. Camera quality is hit or miss. Gcam is giving better result.

Firmware is super easy to grab off OnePlus updater app.
and then all you need is payload dumper and the newest python, and you can extract the boot image anytime you want.

My battery life is excellent. Of course I have it rooted and naptime forced doze app installed and Google Cloud Messaging (GCM) doze enabled. I'm getting 9 hours average SOT and 0.6-0.8% per hour idle discharge. That is excellent.

Usually, you'll find it on this link: https://developers.google.com/android/images
But Google hasn't posted any images for Pixel 6 yet. May be they'll drop it today as it's the official launch date of Pixel 6.

I will also update my thread [How To Guide] Unlocking the Pixel 6 Pro bootloader (will add rooting and TWRP when it's confirmed, banking app discussions will be reported for deletion) just as soon as the firmware zips are made available.
Many thanks for the response. I thought as much. And I've been checking out the site. I'll keep doing that since that's apparently the only place I can get it.

Hi, idk what u mean by trying things and them not working on OxygenOS 12... Like I've been using this magisk module (iOS 16 emojis as iOS 15 doesn't have any new emojis) for months. Here's the magisk module I've been using and it uses the .tff file from @RickyBush_ I suggest donating the paypal to him. Maybe try contacting him or reply to him if he replies to this thread. Without the .ttf file this wouldn't be possible tbh

Ok I think I know why... Do u have root? Do u have a file explorer that has root?
It's maybe because it's where the NotoColorEmoji.ttf file location in root/ has changed. For most devices, it is in root/system/fonts/
What keyboard do u have? I use Gboard maybe try that... Have you wiped the storage + cache of the app in settings?

I wouldn't... Just go and ask people online who have a OP9 Pro or OOS 12 + root and try this magisk module. Maybe it's just OOS 12 and if it isn't then it's just you and then factory reset. Why factory reset before knowing if it's just OOS 12? If it's OOS 12 u basically wasted time wiping and restoring your device and u might brick it too

@DiogoPdC It seems like this is a issue with OOS 12 sadly. I honestly don't know why changing this file doesn't change the emojis. I guess the new theming in OOS 12 affects it and it's a OOS 12 issue not a specific-user issue

@DiogoPdC It seems like this is a issue with OOS 12 sadly. I honestly don't know why changing this file doesn't change the emojis. I guess the new theming in OOS 12 affects it and it's a OOS 12 issue not a specific-user issue

I think the same with boot animations I tried to get to work on oos12 also. Think the underlying theming engine controls font, boot animation, shutdown animation etc. At least that's how color is is and oos12 is based on that. From what I have read it's a .mtk file for a theme you need to edit, but I'm still on a11 till all the bugs are worked out and some of my mods work on a12
We will probably have a whole new os in March when op10 is released global and have to figure it out all over again.

Do you happen to have a link to where you read about this? I was trying to search and not really finding anything about it.
