Anyone else have random "clicks" while scrolling? Almost seems too sensitive.
I find the screen to be a bit too sensitive in general, i get long press actions on very short touches. I get the scrolling too (partially because I'm left handed) but on top of that hightlight text
Here I was thinking I was crazy. Yeah the screen definitely seems overly sensitive some times.
Do you have "increase touch sensitivity" enabled?

Do you think the clicking sound is from tapping on the screen due to that hollow sound? I get that sound when I'm using the video recorder and switch lenses!
Same issue, too sensitive. Highlighting text and clicking links unwillingly sometimes when scrolling. Probably tempered glass can reduce sensitivity a bit. Using hydrogel film for now.
I have the exact opposite problem, for the past few days - scrolling up seems to not work properly at times, it just stops and needs another swipe to continue moving. Weird.

Nope. I can't imagine what it would be like with that turned on.
Scrolling and sensitivity seem a mess to me, sometimes they're fine and sometimes horrible. I even struggle to type properly at time because of it.
Its because the touch sensor doesn't follow all the way around the curved edges of the screen, so if your finger is sliding up and down the edge, how it registers may be spotty and give you random clicks instead of full scroll.
The solution is to go to Settings > Accessibility > Timing Controls > Touch & hold delay >Put medium instead of Short. Helped me.

This helped immediately. No longer does it highlight text when going back

After changing this setting and using for several days, it Definitely helped with the selecting and highlighting text. Only downside I've really noticed doing this is you have to hold down a good bit longer to select something with long press... Good fix overall. Thanks for the info.
On march update now, as a test I've switched this setting back to short. So far I'm not getting any problems we had before. Try as you like, I'll post back if anything goes sour and i switch back
Nope scratch that it's just not as bad it still does it back to medium

I agree, maybe a bit better. Back to medium here too. Appreciate your post, it was worth a try.

I've noticed the touch position is a little bit off (offset to the right). Check the images attached. I turned on "show touches" in the Developer Options to demonstrate. In the first picture I put my finger on the left edge of the display and took a screenshot. What it *should* look like is the point being half on and half off the display. The second one I did the same to the right side; notice how the center of the point is entirely off the display, indicating it's sensing a touch the isn't even on the display. This has occasionally made me miss a button, so I know there's a real tangible effect to it.
I have noticed this too, is there no way of fixing this? gets very annoying while typing because it occasionally puts on a different letter!

That's a different type of calibration. We're talking about touches and where the phone registers touches on the screen. It seems a bit off.
@scy1192, how did you generate those 2 images? how did you test out the touch screen result?
thanks in advance for the answer.

Enable developer options then in the developer options menu, choose "Show touches"
Also, I found out the reason it was doing that. Seems like the touch point shown doesn't exactly match up to where it detects your touch. Must just be an error of the "show touches" option now drawing on the screen correctly.
Let me bump that thread since I have a bit of information to add.
Just for anyone wondering - you can
"Upgrade the Touch Firmware" in the Test-Settings Menu (just like you could with the G2)
I guess that 's what LG means with Touch Re-Calibration.
There are also quite some tests you can do there to see if anything is off.
I think it comes down to their Keyboard and Sensitivity of the Hardware in itself and the thickness of your Fingers.
I noticed that I often misstype with the LG-Keyboard - that is due to the buttons being to small in width and most importantly the area between the SPACEBAR and Soft-Buttons which doesn't know if it should trigger the spacebar or the menukey as such won't do anything when you hit the sweet spot inbetween them. So to workaround that the best would be to hide the softbuttons upon entering text.
Cheers.
Any update ? Upgrading the touch firmware didn't help for me. The problem happen after I changed the screen.
this has happening to me lot now. I could be in the middle of any app and the touch screen will just stop working totally until i lock the screen with the power button and then unlock it.
Just a wild guess, do you have DT2W/DT2S enabled?

I've experienced some issues with DT2W/S on other devices/roms, even when its a feature enabled by the kernel.
Try disabling it.
I'll be sure to try it the next time I have the issue.

happening here as well. noticed the logo used for the "interruptions" settings menu pops up as an indicator at the top of the screen every time this happens. tried changing around the settings within interruptions with no luck. also have dt2w off. imgur . com/KK7riD

Hardware problem
Il you put two fingers and make some pressure between the front camera end the rear side of the phone, the screen becomes alive
Anyone run into intermittent issues on their watch? Sometimes I have to tap 2 or 3 times for the watch to wake. Other times I have to use the power button to wake as even 10 taps doesn't wake it.
I've also noticed general sensitivity issues where the touchscreen has issues like scrolling through the quick settings when dragging down from the watch face.
+1
I noticed that as well

Nope, my watch has been perfectly responsive to touch. Tilt-to-wake is pretty hit or miss, though. Are you on your custom kernel or back on stock?

I was on stock but now custom and saw the issues and this is my first replacement because of this issue. I may just return the device. I'm not happy with a device that can't get basic touchscreen right. My OnePlus One has some touchscreen issues but not this bad. It shouldn't fail to wake after 3+ taps.
Have you tried turning on "Show Touches" in Developer Settings? You might be able to find a pattern of what's not working.

Good suggestion. I didn't see a pattern but it showed when I had the wake issue that that touches always registered in a certain location on the phone. It helped to have ambient on so I could see the touches. It would definitely register them but always near the lower left corner of the screen.
Either way, I returned this device after seeing this same issue two devices in a row [emoji17]. I wanted to have a device that works the way it should. It was fun playing around with something new. The next gen Asus is a possibility but I'm shaken away by them right now. Maybe new moto.
Hey guys,
New S9 user here and having an issue with it. Clearly I'm not using the correct keywords, otherwise I'm sure it would have been an easy Google, but I can't, for the life of me, word it in any way properly. Been living with this issue since I got it and I hate it!
When I have my finger on the bottom part of the screen while it's in my pocket, when I take it out of my pocket, it'll do this short vibrate and then the screen comes on at the lock screen.
I've disabled screen always on.
I've disabled Samsung Pay while screen off and even at lock screen.
I'm not really sure what else to try.
Thanks!

It was doing it to me too, take my phone out of my pocket and the screen was already on... Then after I noticed it happening regularly I did some investigating too and discovered that setting, was never something I would use anyway so off it went
The above only partially fixed my issue. I was getting weird, random vibrate when I picked up my phone.
It's the most annoying feature ever! It is called SMART ALERT.
Search it. Disabled it. Profit.
So I've recently replaced my screen and I'm getting some strange behaviour with the touch interactivity. I have turned on tap visibility in the developer options and will try and descibe what is happening...
It seems to really dislike some apps, for example on the home screen it is the worst - It sees my fingertip contact when i tap, but its as if i'm holding my fingers down. This is the kind of behaviour in the lock screen too.
The weird thing is though, that I can get to the settings menu through holding the power key > "Side key settings" - and everything works perfectly. In other apps it its also pretty usable - though maybe slightly more laggy sometimes and can hang for a few moments.
I am wondering whether this sounds like a software or a hardware issue to anyone with more expertise? (relatively new to this repair/modding stuff). I have tried downgrading it to a younger version of android with odin but that didn't work. I am also wondering whether rooting might open some possibilities?
Thanks
