I forgot my password to this old phone. it was an alphanumeric password.
id like to bypass that without loosing data since id like to access my pictures.
it would be nice to access my apps as well, but i primarily want the photos.
Did you ever figure this out? Back in 2018 I broke the lock screen for a verizon s7 edge. There was a script floating around to disable then re-enable the lock screen. I didn't follow it correctly and just broke the lock screen. No data was lost, everything else worked except settings would crash when you tried to lock the phone. I'm just saying that it should be possible since I did it for a newer phone once. But adding some info like if your phone was rooted, what firmware it's on, or if you have usb debugging enabled may help.

Hi everyone
Here's the situation. My Mum passed away in December very suddenly. Her Desire Z is really causing us trouble. She had a screen lock pattern set, which we haven't been able to guess.
We have reset her Google passwords (since we didn't know the old ones) but the device has WiFi turned off, and mobile data turned off, so when we try to login to one of her Google accounts to reset the screen lock it says "invalid username and password". For these reason I also can't send an unlock reset from Google device manager. I've obviously tried connecting it via a USB cable just to copy photos or any other files but it won't even do that while it's locked. It just doesn't seem to recognise that a USB cable is connected, unless it's plugged into a charger.
I've googled it at length and tried all sorts of tricks like calling the phone and clicking certain buttons, opening the keyboard at exactly the right moment, and so on. Unfortunately nothing has worked.
I know how to hard reset the device, but is there any way at all to get access to it before I do so?
Thanks so much for any help you can offer.
i am in dead end that's why i am here for some help.
My s6 edge was locked by finger print. all was working good. But today while i was on bath my child was playing with my mobile and by mistake they tried finger print several time lead my device to locked.
Now my device asking for backup password but as the password was alphanumeric 12 digit long i forgot that also. i searched a lot on Google and found either Google account or resetting the device is only solution.
but i can't even use Google account as my WiFi and/or mobile data was off when my phone was lock mode. Now for damn Google security system i can't even enable WiFi or mobile data?
so, my question is:
1. is there a way to make my device to ask for my finger print once again?
2. or is there a way to on my WiFi or mobile data on lock screen?
because i really don't want to reset my device as i have so many unsaved data
thanks in advance
best regards
Unfortunately there is nothing that I can think of you can do to get around it. You will need to reset it.
My daughter has a sprint galaxy note 4 and last night she was watching Hulu and her phone jumped to the password screen, problem is the fingerprint scanner doesnt show up and her password isnt unlocking the phone (wrong password). Im an apple user myself and am clueless to her phone, ive called sprint and they suggested a factory reboot, problem is she has pictures on her phone of her grandmother that passed away and doesnt want to lose them ofcourse. She doesnt have the debugg active and no way to access that that i know of because the phone is locked, is there a way to take off the lock?
Tried restarting the phone? I've had the fingerprint mess up before and only allow me to use password but it fortunately worked

yes its been reset several times and the battery taken out. Weve also tryed resetting the password using her google account but that doesnt work either
So I've been disabled on a Note 7 SM-N930W8 Rogers in Canada
I've finally had some time to sit down and write this out. I've been locked out of this Device since January when they blocked these phones in Canada. I completely forgot the pin number I setup when I put a password on this phone when I originally purchased it. I always have my phone on me and I always have a power block. Beleive it or not I've never let this phone die... that being said once night the phone was forced to update and boom wake up 4g Gone wifi gone now it's asking me for a pin number?!?! I've always used the retina or finger to get into the phone. I have some important information to download off this phone, only way i've thought about being able to get into the phone would be WIFI which would connect to my home wifi and then use the mobile.samssung.com account to remove the lockscreen pin or reset it....
I know I can restore the phone to gain access to it, but once I do this, all my data is gone.
Does anyone have any other ideas as to how I can get around this lockscreen situation?
Any help or ideas would be apreciated - i am done with the cat and mouse game just need my docs and will send back!
My son has a Note 4 from Sprint on FreedomPop. (Only the best for my boy!)
A few days ago he enabled "Secured with Password" for the Screen Lock. He typed twice a well known password for us. But now the phone unlocks with a swipe and it won't accept his password for the screen lock.
I rebooted, wiped the cache, etc. No matter what we type (even his last few passwords) it won't accept and let us in to modify the Screen Lock. So now he can get in but it is less secure than before. Rooting probably won't help unless maybe I figure out what file or command might take care of this.
Any ideas?
