I have found other threads about changing the clock color, but is it possible to completely remove[/i] the clock from the notification bar?
On here there are so many widgets that give the time, and the lock screen does the same thing.
unfortunately not at this stage. Personally i prefer it to be there anyway cos that means that whatever screen you are on you can see the time (less battery usage too) - also the reason i prefer weatherbug to a weather widget)...
I noticed some old posts on this, but not much said. Wondering if anyone has or can create a clear notification bar. I usually hide it, but sometimes like to have the notification icons shown. I'd like to have my wallpaper show thru. Just curious more than anything. Using MikFroyo 4.4 by the way.
Hey guys, I know I might be a little picky, but here is my question.
In Jelly bean, the notification bar disappears when you drop down the notification center which only displays the date/settings option and ofcourse the notifications you might have. Notification bar works just fine on the lock screen and mainscreen, however, my theme does not permit me to make it visible on the mainscreen. This was not a problem on ICS, as the notification bar showed up just fine even with the notification center dropped down.
Is there a solution to this? I would really like to see my notification bar with my drop down center at the same time.
not to be nit picky, but notification center is the iOS copy of the notification panel from android.
Anyways, yes, it does make your notificaiton bar disappear, which is annoying since you dont see your signal, battery level, etc. I havent see anyway around this yet.

Where did iOS randomly come from? lol.
But yes, now we are unable to see signal, battery % etc from the notification drop down.

How are you able to get the notification panel to work on the lockscreen?

Right now my phone is not locked, that's why. But that is not the point, regardless of that I can still see my notification bar (signal/battery etc), I just want that notification bar to be shown when you have your notification center dropped down (this was normal on ICS, but they removed it in JB)

No one knows if there is a fix D:!?

Why does it need to be fixed? You can't live without battery or signal bars for few seconds?
well its a simple reason why they did this. with the notifications pulled down, you don't need to be looking at the top bar because all the notifications are in front of you anyway. and the date and time is also visible in the new notification shade as a bigger font.

What is the point of using Android then, if you cannot customize it to your own personal preference? I just want it to be more convenient. Especially since the only time I can see my notification bar is on the lock screen.....

Well it's not like its going to cause a huge problem if they left the bar as it was in ICS and every other android OS..... I don't particularly care about the date and time, I just want the wifi/3g signals to be clearly visible with other graphic notifications which don't show up in the notification panel drop down.
If u look closely the notification tray actually drops down and on top of the status bar and is partially transparent on the bottom half of the header.. so I think the answer is yes, in time maybe someone will do a fully transparent status bar header(hopefully getting rid of the second clock for my ocdness). Or something...

Yeah I just hope some one has a fix for this soon. I didn't see any reason for them to remove it in the first place.
I did not notice this until you pointed it out... How long do you stay with your notification bar down?

If you read the previous comments, you would see that I have a custom theme, requiring me to drop my notification bar down just to look at it... Or go to lock screen, which is extremely irritating whenever I want to see that useful info on my bar.
Obviously this doesn't apply to everyone, and I understand that. If I knew how to fix this myself, I would but alas I am a noob who is still trying to learn the way of Android

There might be a setting, Expanded Desktop! Turn it off!!!
If you use two fingers to pull the status bar, you can see the remaining battery and the signal at least

How to remove clock icon from the status bar when an alarm is turned on. I dont like the icon of it; unless someone can point me to a better alternativethat the stock clock (which I love very much) then please tell me
I'm running CM9a9 on the WFs, which I use as my alarm clock. I'm just using the default clock loaded with CM9 which has an analog clock on the home screen, but switches to digital when you start the desk clock from the menu on the alarm screen.
My problem is that when you dim the digital clock by either tapping it or after the global dimmer timer kicks in, it switches to a dark blue font on a black screen. My very subtle color blindness makes it appear as nothing but a blank screen from 10 feet away.
I searched through the phone a bit this morning and found the /data/data/com.android.deskclock directory, but the only two XML files buried in there are for the alarm settings. I'd like to find where the colors for the desk clock are defined and change the dimmed font to red or green on black so I can actually see it at night.
Anybody know where that is so I can change it?
