Hey all,
I'm currently having issues with a few apps where the notifications don't appear :S
I've contacted the app support, They don't know.
I've contacted Google support, They don't know.
My question is: Have I messed something up internally? I've tried using returning to Stock completely(Both 4.3.* and 4.4)(No custom recovery etc) using Wugfresh, So that rules out the Custom ROM causing problems(I think).
Apps I've noticed missing notifications: Hay Day(Game, VERY new to my account - Only been playing for a few days), ON Air TV Guide(These just randomly stopped coming through to me).
I don't use any sort of task killer, I've tried leaving the applications in my Recent menu.
They are enabled in the App settings to receive Notifications.
I'm out of ideas and Google support didn't help.
Anyone know of this problem or a fix?
Regards,
J93.
EMUI 5.0.1

I've been having trouble getting Google voice working, especially right after being unlocked. Eventually it starts working, without opening up voice.
I have voice set as exempt from battery optimization, not closed after screen lock, no power intensive prompt, unrestricted data access, and priority notifications.
I've read lots of guides on getting apps to run in the background on Huawei's software, though many are for older versions. So the above is the best I've found.
Anything I've missed or other suggestions?
No Call Block/Reject app that I download from Google Play will block/reject "Not In My Contacts" phone numbers anymore.
Furthermore, I noticed even popular app Mr. Number no longer has the menu choice after one of their updates.
Anyone know of an app that will actually work?
It is the Android 8.1 may security patch that has taken off the blockability off all call blockers. It does not seem to be a broken functionality of Android. So, none of the call blocker apps (apart from Google's Phone app) will work in no root mode.

The only solution to it for now i have heard (not 100% sure) is to use the app Root Call SMS Manager in root mode, should block calls. No root mode definitely has stopped working after the may18 security patch rollout. If you don't wish to root your phone, just roll back to a pre-may18 patch and use any call blocker app you desire.
Hello guys, I am considering to buy Red Magic 6 Pro and was wondering if it comes default with Google Phone (Dialer)? I really enjoy Google Dialer in my current phone as it can block spam automatically and has nearby places etc.
Nope comes with their dialer. I downloaded Googler Dialer and it wouldn't ring for me anymore. I had to delete it to get the phone to ring again.
@veedubsky have you tried setting google dialer as default? or vice versa? by vice versa I mean keep the stock dialer as default, because sometimes setting Google dialer default also breaks things. you could also install Google dialer framework from Magisk modules if you are rooted.
I've had the same issue with the RM5G since launch.
The Google Dialer on my 5G uses/sees notification sounds only instead of ringtones when you access its notification settings. It also defaults to silent. Contact ringtone settings also have no effect. I've tried multiple versions of the Google Dialer (on multiple stock ROM versions) without success - forced back to using the stock Dialer, unfortunately.
I'm inclined to think it's a ROM issue in terms of how ringtones/notification sounds are configured/defined.

Yup tried setting as default and then clearing default and leaving it alone. Either way the Google dialer wouldn't not produce a ringtone alert. I get the answer screen but no sound or vibe. Deleted it and stuck with the stock dialer.
How to get Google Phone/ Dialer to Work as default (Incoming Calls Ring).
Step 1: Go into settings and disabled volte in calls.
2: Download/ Install Google Phone

So it is not possible to keep Volte enabled? Does it not ring when google dialer is made default? Could you please check if automatic spam blocking and nearby places work?

Doesn't work on my RM5G. I didn't use the .apk you linked and downloaded the latest version from the Play Store instead.
VOLTE on/off made no difference.
I hoped that disabling the stock contacts app would solve the issue (since it's an integrated Dialer/Contacts), but it made no difference. Calls ARE received/displayed using the Google Dialer, but no ringtone is played/heard.
Investigating further, I noticed we have a ”Call Management" app that can't be disabled and may be the culprit.

I didn't have any issue previously but it is happening now. I am deleting the Google phone apps and see how it works.

you need to use the apks which I posted...updated apks will not work.
I am using T-Mobile and i cannot turn off VoLTE. They forced everyone on their network to use VoTLE. earlier this year. They will do the same on ATT early next year when they remove 3G network. I wish there was another way to fix this. I hate this Dialer on my RM6 Pro.
Anyone else having issues where you cant hear the other person when answering calls? I have to change to speaker for a second and then back to handset just to hear them.
Does anyone know of any dialer that works with the RM6? I tried many and they all have the same issues you guys are talking about. It wont ring on incoming calls. I can receive but wont hear the ringing on the phone.

To clarify, it still use the default phone app when i receive a call. I downloaded both phone and contact apps from your link and followed every step
I have One UI 5 and have been using Cube Call Recorder, but it doesn't pick up the caller's audio when using bluetooth headphones. I know Google stopped allowing apps on the Play Store to use the Accessibility API. So I installed from the Samsung Store and it with seems to use the API, and doesn't require me to install its helper app. It still doesn't work.
I'd be fine with installing apps from the Samsung Store or sideloading APKs.
these may help... https://www.makeuseof.com/record-phone-calls-samsung-galaxy/ and... https://www.makeuseof.com/how-record-calls-google-phone-android/ ... i use the truecaller app, and it is an all-around great phone app, but now they have a notice about google's api change also... i do not record calls often, but now, who knows...
