I was typically content with disabling unused apps due to substituting them for third party apps (such as textra for messenger, Hub+ instead of Gmail) but I've never used Netflix, Google play movies and TV, or Duo.
I'm rooted, and tried disabling them, but the icon is still in my menu even if I disable it.
remove disabled app icon from "main" menu, and from drop down menu it will be removed automatically instantly after disabling
ANDROID 12 haven't disable menu. use adb command to disable or uninstall.
it is work

Canary version of magisk? Intrigue me or does 23.0 work on a12
I am on OB2.. V23 was working fine for me(passing safety net as well), but I wanted to update to latest canary. It passes safety net also. All bank/crypto apps work fine. Any that had problems I used new "deny list" in settings to hide magisk from

Does Magisk + Xposed pass safety net check? I have magisk installed and everything works. As soon as I install Xposed via Magisk Module, it breaks safety net. Is it supposed to work?
Thanks.

Would you please let me know link to the well documented article? I know xposed break safety net alone.
But according to this link,
https://www.xda-developers.com/systemless-xposed-android-oreo-available-pass-safetynet/
It seems it should work with magisk.

That article has a very misleading title. I fell for it too a while back. Just look at the very first comment at the end of the article and you'll see that it does not pass safety net unless you disable the Xposed module in magisk, then reboot.
In other words, if you want to use GPay, you have to disable Xposed and reboot every time.
In fact, nowhere in the article body of text does it even say it passes safety net - just the completely incorrect title.
Anyone try it on there pixel 2 xl yet?

The modules I use are working fine, and they've all been updated by their specific developers. However, YMMV depending on what modules you have questions about :good:

I don't really understand what's happening on my end then, I have the latest Canary Magisk version and I'm hiding Google Pay and Google Play Services, but I still get a message about the phone being rooted.
Problem here is that if I hide Google Pay in Magisk 19.0 it doesn't work- sticks at the Google logo. If I don't hide it, it doesn't work because of root/unlocked bootloader, so I'm a bit stuck in the middle.
Tried on rooted stock- same problem. Tried with elementalx kernel- just the same. Any ideas (pixel 2 btw)?

I feel your pain and that's exactly why i went straight back to pure stock at least until magisk is fully functional again WITHOUT any hiccups.

I've looked at the threads also. I'm not sure why it stopped working for some people and not for others. I was one of the lucky ones I guess. Have you tried clearing the data for Google pay and Google play services? Some people have said that fixed it for them with version 19.

Magisk stable build, all latest official builds of everything else, nothing special. and Magisk hide on google play store, google play services and google pay then - Renaming com.google.android.gms to com.google.android.gms.bak (found in Data/Data) in root browser and then rebooting is the answer .

I installed the color os 12, there are nuances, but I liked this shell. I have a problem, I can not start Google Pay. The bootloader is unlocked and I don't want to block it. Dancing with certification didn't help me. Are there any options to resolve this issue? Or is it easier to use a bank card and not think about it))))

If using magisk 23 you need to hide gpay and all Google apps gms etc. If using alpha and zygisk use denylist and select these. I would also use kdragons last safety net patch. Worked for me anyway
Agreed on everything @toolhas4degrees said except I didn't need kdrag0ns patch.

It's mainly for platstore certification. You can also certify platstore by using magisk module props and using a verified fp

Has anyone found a way to disable secure_flag for ascreenshots on this phone yet? I always used to use smali patcher for this but it's outdated and Android 13+ isn't supported. Is there a module or another way I'm not aware of? Thanks y'all!

Hello,
there is an option in Magisk called Systemless Hosts.
Do I need to switch this on or is it enough if I have the app Adaway working?
Is it better to switch both on? Do I need Adaway or can ads also be blocked by Magisk App standalone?
On my rooted RMX3363 i use DNSCrypt-Proxy without Systemless Hosts

Thank you for your answer, but i didn't find out how to use this exactly - i was searching a way without much reading and studying...
I found out that you just need to install Adaway App and activate the Systemless hosts Magisk module. (both - it also answers my question this way)
