I'm thinking of rooting and possibly putting a custom rom on my AU LGL21 Optimus G, however, the only rooting guides I can find are for either the "international" version or the Docomo version. These guides seem to work in aspects of gaining root access, but apparently wifi stops working after just rooting using those guides(referencecan't post links yet, ask) Japanese, but google translate seems to not slaughter it too bad).
I have a programming background and am quite used to linux, I will not mind trying to even compile stuff by myself as long as there is a safe option for reflashing when it goes wrong. I am not however overly used to android hacking, does anyone know where I should start if I want to try to root it while trying to use other networking firmware etc. to get everything to work?
Also, is it possible to just grab device drivers and firmware from the stock rom? E.g. the LGL21 has a one segment TV receiver not found on the korean model, and it would be awesome if I could somehow get cyanogen or something on it and add in stock firmware for the devices that don't work otherwise.
I'd greatly appreciate ANY help
Thanks.
T807A (ATT) Questions
Howdy All,
I've successfully rooted a Nook Color and Nook HD in the past, but it has been a while and my skills are rusty. Just yesterday I purchased a used Tab S 10.5 16GB T807A (AT&T) for 200 bucks from a girl on BooKoo. It is in prestine condition and still has the plastic stuff you peel off the back and sides. Anyway.... I have a few questions.
I've tried my best to read up on all the info on this forum and there are so many bits of information in so many different places its hard for me to wrap my head around it so I figured I'd ask to see if there is a one-stop, step-by-step set of instructions for rooting this bad boy.
1. Is it possible to root the T807A? (Older posts say no, but newer posts make it seem possible)
2. If I am able to root it, do I lose the ability to use the broadband data? (Will the ATT network try to update it thus effecting my root access)?
3. It looked like from some of the posts I read, someone was looking for someone with a T807A in order to get a clean back up of the original software from the device. If I can be of assistance, please let me know how to upload what you need from my completely stock device.
Here are the current specs:
Android Version - 4.4.2
Baseband Version - T807AUCU1ANJ5
Kernel Version - 3.4.39-2974855 / [email protected] #1 / Sat Oct 11 14:12:56 KST 2014
My apologies if all this info has been disucssed before, I tried my best to read up and get the info I needed without asking questions.

Oh, and I am also curious if I need to update or downgrade to anything before I try to root...
i have seen the threads here and i am not able to understand some things
I have recently bought Amazon Firetv Stick.
whether we can root the indian firetv stick? If so how?
If root is possible, can i flash some custom roms?
All/latest FTV2's that where release last year have never been rooted. Regardless of the market. And even FTV1'S, FTV2'S & FTVS1's on the last few FW's have never been rootable since last year.
Keep an eye here to see if any device becomes rootable:

Request for apks
Hey man, can you please get voot and gaana apks. I want to run them on the sony android tv. If possible please help me.
When I looked at TWRP, they have one for every version of my tablet besides the one I need. I will literally PayPal someone money if they link me to one or let me know if anyone will ever make one. I just want to root this tablet with Magisk so badly. SM-T378V is so unlucky.
I looked also but couldn`t find it ..
Maybe better PayPal someone for a decent device that's easier to flash ? ?
Hi,
got this tablet as my car equipment and I need to change resolution a bit (its too big for the plastic frame). To do that I need to root device. I can't find how to do it anywhere and oneclickroot programs are not working (kingroot, rootmaster, oneclickroot want $). Anyone got any idea how to do it? The system is Android 7.0.
Cheers.
