Hey guys after having some bad luck with the wet screen protectors I am looking for the best dry screen protector to get. Anyone have any ideas? One that would prevent fingerprints would be the best. I have a GSM nexus
Sgp Steinheil Ultra Oleophobic. You can them on amazon for roughly $14 for a two pack.
Beamed from my SCH-i515
Thanks mate but they aren't dry ones. I don't want any solution to use

Sgp Steinheil Ultra Oleophobic is dry one.
Sgp Steinheil Flex is wet
Also look into Boxwave.
The Steinheil Ultra Oleo isnt edge to edge....the Boxwave says it is but I read of a couple people having problems getting it to stick on the outer edges of the screen. Boxwave support says after a few days it should conform and stick just fine.
Honestly, the ones from VZW arent bad at all ... no orange peel, little to no added "drag" on your fingers, and covers all but a very tiny edge around the entire glass (may actually be good if you run a case)
The ones at Verizon suck IMHO. I picked up a 3 pack for my girlfriends GN and the first one the clerk put on and had a fiber under it. So when I got home I took that one off and put on another. Well that one had a fiber in it too. The third one worked ok but I was disappointed I had to use 3 of them to get it right because they came with fibers in them.

I highly doubt they had fibers in them straight from the box ... this is why everyone recommends doing the install in the bathroom after you have steamed it up with the shower to knock the dust out of the air.
Please don't throw away the screen protector just because of a piece of fiber/lint underneath of it. Just juse a piece of tape and stick it to the outer side of the screen protector to "peel" that part up, and then use another piece of tape to "pull" that lint out.
I still like the Verizon "clear" screen protector.

Well considering the clerk did one at the Verizon store and a fiber was on it and I did one at my house on my dinning room table and had one. I can only guess they were there from the factory. Same white fiber on both. And both times the phone was wiped down with a clothe and then used canned air to blow it off. Nothing was on the screen before I tried to put the protector off.

I tried using tape but no go and at one point I managed to scratch the protector with my nail trying to pick it off.

The phone can be spotless -- its the dust in the air that ends up sticking to the protector before you get it seated on the glass

I have always used Boxwave for my previous phones. I just installed the Boxwave for GN, and I must say I am disappointed. Reaches further to the edges than the Verizon clear, but as stated above, the edges do not stick. It has only been one day, but it doesn't seem like they are going to magically stick in a few days. We shall see.

I'm reading on amazon that this one covers the FFC...does this make any noticeable difference?
The guy who makes Diztronic TPU cases sends a screen protector with his cases. They are great! Cover edge to edge in all directions. Better than verizon ones but still susceptable to fingerprints and grease, not oleo-phobic.
also.. at the edges, since the glass is curved down, it doesn't contact. not a big deal for me. i have a case.
Yeah Verizon NON-matte ones are best. I removed dust with the tape trick. These are static cling so u can pull it off and clean it up and stick it. Once its on its on there good. I can only tell around the ffc that there is a protector. The gel case I got covers the gaps perfectly if u align the screen protector on right. All accessories free with my Microsoft discount and these are the best accessories imo

No, not at all. (unless you have oil on the screen protector, but then you can just wipe it)
The standard crystal screen protectors that are all over ebay for around 8 for $3.50

Had a boxwave the edges did not stick as others have said replaced with sgp oleophobic it is better
Well I decided to get the newest Diztronic TPU rev 3 case and it's pretty nice but the screen protector that came with it is complete dog****. Attracts a TON of lint, had lots of bubbles under the screen despite putting it on quickly in a steamy room, doesn't contact the screen at the top OR the bottom and leaves smudges all over it. Worst screen protector ever.
I tried this out and LOVE it (as well as the price). It's strong, goes on clear, and edge to edge without bubbling. Definitely worth trying out for the cost.

Hey MIME owners
it seems like wherever i read everyone only got the ghost and i was wondering why?
i thought the Feather was lighter, thinner and protects as well (which is why it costs more)
is that not the case? because i prefer a-bit thicker if it protects better (the ghost that is)
I would say this: If you'll be using a case, go with the feather. I just put the Diztronic case on my Nexus 5 with ghost and the corners immediately started to lift. If you aren't planning on using a case, go with the ghost. It has rounded edges which will help prevent chipping.
[edit]Although I haven't confirmed that the feather works with cases. I believe I read it in one of the Mime main threads.

Cruzerlite TPU cases can work with mime ghost without lifting the corners:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2512135&page=17
It's strange, because my SGP steinheil, which is plastic screen protector, has it's corner lifted when using those cases. Other SGP cases work fine though.
I think it's actually correlated to how precise you installed the screen protector. Mine is a bit more inclined to the left, thus my bottom left corner is lifted when using cruzerlite tpu case.

Oh ok. Then I think it depends on the tightness of the case. Since depending on which side I slip first into the case, the other side is where the corner starts to lift.

I have ordered MIME Ghost glass. I too had the same question before buying. I sent them an email. this is their reply:
Our Ghost Glass protectors are thicker (0.32mm) and offer slightly more drop protection, while our Feathers are half as thick and twice as light. Our glass is cut from the same source, so surface hardness is identical.

Got my Mime Feather to replace the defective, Glas.tr. Early impressions:
Feather is much thinner, easier to apply, seems more oleophobic and has no bubbles (when naked). Can't compare the smoothness bw the two but it seems the Feather is just slightly better, maybe its because of being more oleophoic.
When i put the Cruzerlite bugdroid case on, the Feather right corner does have a bubble. IMO, the Feather is much better and cheaper than the Glas.tr

well it seems like some people also said they put the Feather on perfectly, because u can actually pull the Diztronics a-bit to be ABOVE the ghost.
also im wondering what if u got the Diztronics and you put it on and THEN put the mime on, and align it using that?

i used feather and its a perfect fit with the official bumper case, if Diztronics is the same as the official one maybe that would work:fingers-crossed:
I would say this -- if you're at all (and I mean even the slightest bit) rough with your device, don't even consider the feather.
First off I was trying to push out some corner bubbles I had when installing the protector, I pushed with my thumbnail, not stupidly hard ... and cracked the edge. I thought it was a fluke, ended up doing the same dammed thing on another corner knowing I couldn't press hard. I sent an email to Mime, explained exactly what happened and they sent me a code for the Ghost glass. As I was waiting for the new glass to arrive I somehow chipped the glass again, this time about 1/2 inch from the top of the screen. I have no idea what caused that one.
For the record I've had 2 other devices with Mime Ghost, and an iPad Mini with a BodyGuardz Glass screen protector that have no issues. Personally I think the feather is just to thin for its own good.
See attached. That's one week with the feather glass. I have the Ghost on there now. I'll definitely buy from Mime again .. but I know better than to get the feather next time!
Pardon my ignorance, I ordered a ghost. I just wanted to know if these glass protectors provide any other advantage over plastic ones except the touch feel that they give

This a thousand times over.
The benefits are a bit hard to put in to words. It's more than just the touch feel. There's a solidity to a glass protector that you can't get with plastic. There's an "invisibility" that comes with glass - even with the clearest plastic protector, you still know it's there. The glass protectors also stick better in my experience. You can toss the phone in your pocket without worrying about an edge lifting up.
Again, it's really hard to explain how big a difference it is, but as Philly Jim said ... once you go glass you can never go back. The first time I bought one, I really questioned my sanity. Now, I don't even consider the other options and I factor the glass into my device cost.
Well its been a little over a week and had been doing well with no scratches. Been putting it in my pockets and laying it around just everyday normal use. Well today I scratched it pretty good. Had on my rock revival jeans. Most of these jeans have a button right above the pocket opening. Well it slid across that button and scratched it pretty good. I had already bought a tempered glass screen protector off eBay but was going to wait on putting it on. So I peeled off the outer layer. This was surprisingly easy. And I put on the glass protector. I know Motorola advised against this but theirs scratches pretty good. This glass one doesn't scratch. And it does actually feel better. Shatter proof is awesome but scratch proof is important too.
You know u can put a screen protector over the shatterproof film and u wouldn't have that problem

Yeah I know. But all the other phones I had were gorilla glass and didn't scratch and I liked that. Never used screen protectors on them. When I put the glass one on top of their outer shield, it was just too thick for me. It seemed like the screen was more sunk in. I knows that may sound like nic picking but I didn't like it.

Found one on eBay and it fits perfectly. Yeah it will shatter but I'm pretty confident the underneath won't if I drop it. All layers are plastic. I'm liking it so far. So to me, I kinda get the best of both worlds. Scratch resistance and shatter proof (underneath that is).
Honestly u just need a basic thin scratch resistance screen protector cause tempered glass isnt really needed with a 4 year screen warranty
The one I found on eBay was like 15.00. It fits really well. It has the cut out for the speakers and covers the rest. It's a little thicker than the original but I use a snap on slim fitting tpu case and it covers all the outer edges nicely.

I picked up the tempered glass that Verizon sells for the Turbo 2. It is extremely thin and flexible (so it works well with the slight curve), if applied correctly you can barely tell it's on there.
Yeah it worked well at first but now its starting to bubble in middle and on one corner. I'd look for a different one. I just ordered trimaxx 360 clear case. I'm hoping this will work pretty well. It has pretty good reviews. I really don't want to put Verizon's outer shield back on. It scratches way too easily.

Since there don't seem to be any tempered glass screen protectors that cover the entire screen and stick properly to the curved edges, I'm looking for the next best option.
What is the best protective film for the V20?
So far, I have come across these two on eBay:
1. Nillkin HD Clear Crystal Transparent Thin Phone Screen Protector Film For LG V20
2. 2x Mikvon Armor Screen Protector for LG V20 Retail Package with accessories
Anyone have experience with either of these protectors? Are they worth buying?
I tried to find Skinomi on eBay but shipping to my country is not available.
Note. International shipping is important.

Yes I did but the shipping costs are way too high, at U$9.95 + U$4.00 it would cost more to ship to my country than the cost of the screen protector itself.
I got this one and it rocks! It goes all the way to sides and it doesn't attract fingerprints, without compromising the screen quality!

The Armorsuit screen protectors have always treated me well. They seem to be clearer/have less of a "fuzz effect" than the others I've tried. They're wet application if that matters to you. I personally think it makes the process easier.

Mikvon goes from edge to edge. However it does not stick to the top and bottom curve of the phone. You will have a gap and it slowly collect dust. Also if you have a case, it might push on to the SP on the side.

Is this wet application? How much room is on the side? I use spigen case and looking for screen protector that doesn't interfere with it.
If the screen protector goes from edge to edge it has tendency to be peeled off by case.
Also does it cover entire screen from top to botton included lg logo?
Not a wet application. Just a dry one - you'll get quite a bit of bubbles but they clear up within a day. It's got about 1mm at the sides, cutting it a little close - slight off and you'll have that halo issue which I solved by snipping a bit off whichever corner.

So far, I haven't seen such a problem. No dust or lint collecting on the sides. but like I mentioned, slight alignment issues and you'll probably have to trim it off using a cuticle scissors or something - that's what I did. :good::good:

The gold is just the top film used during application. It's really just clear. Not too sure how a TPU SP is like but I reckon yes, it's just a normal clear version.
One word of advice, don't try to remove the cut-outs when you're removing film 1, leave it there, it's easier to remove that way - I learnt that the hard way.
Here's it now, the bubbles are pretty much gone and I haven't done anything specific to it. Perhaps playing some swiping games pushes the bubbles away

Bump. Anyone find anything yet? Tried the highly recommended skinomi and that thing is crap. If you want to feel like you're touching an inner tube for a bike (minus the dirt) enjoy. But I can't stand that rubber feel. Ordered a different PET type from Amazon, hasn't come yet but hoping I'll have luck. Wet installations suck. And absolutely hate tempered glass. Nope, dry install. If centered correctly upon installation, it is complete full coverage. My tip is to get a deep steam in your bathroom, and make sure your hands are clean. I have no lifting from my case and I got a case that the phone slides into. It has been perfect since install. Only 1 comes in package, but lifetime warranty. I highly recommend it.
Not many post on XDA but I promise you I do not work for this company lol. I've been searching forever for a good screen protector and glass is off the table. Whitestone is too expensive and I know I'd mess it up! I've gone through several brands of films on Amazon that have good/moderate reviews but they have all had poor coverage or just didn't stick down on the edges, and I consider myself a pro at installing films. Found a new one that claimed it used new technology to create a tpu type film and took a gamble on it as there where no reviews/ratings. I am pleased to announce that with proper care putting it on its flawless, adheres 100% to the sides and is almost unnoticeable by touch or look. (Except for that it's film and not glass) I will note however that be careful installing as the adhesive is very strong, and getting dust out after installing is near if not impossible. I'll post pics tomorrow of the product and a pic of my phone with it installed!

Honestly I just got tired of looking for screen protectors. I made this account on XDA forever ago and decided that since I'd finally found one I'd just like to share my experience to maybe save some others frustration. I always lurk around here, have since the Moto a855 days, just never get on and post.
If someone does decide to try one of these protectors and chimes in that'd be great as I know my low post count doesn't make me look very believable lol
ha. yeah, I suspected some time ago, that an employee or more were making accounts promoting their asian battery, with low post counts.

Well, can't tell you that as I screwed up the install and had to trash it [emoji17]. Couldn't get the bubbles out of it. Very likely my ineptness - been a while since I used anything besides tempered glass.

Sorry man, had high hopes for it based on the case problems with tempered glass I've been reading about. Anyway, just ordered a tempered glass one [emoji9] that purports to be "case friendly". We'll see.

I got mine on without bubbles, but I learned very quickly the adhesive is extremely strong on these screen protectors and getting tiny bubbles out is very hard. You have to choose a large one and push it around through all the smaller ones. As far case usage goes, they fit snug and the only case I own is a OtterBox Symmetry which I have no problems with.
In the description and picture it states these have a 9H rating, and while I've had mine on since Friday without any scratches I have to call BS on that claim. They are a tpu film, feel like film, definitely don't feel like glass but are 100% crystal clear. They seems fairly durable compared to some other PET films I've used, and they are much thicker/heavy duty. (Can't tell once applied however)
Orange peel? Or completely flat like PET

No orange peel at all. 100% smooth like PET. I can't stand wet apply protectors because of the orange peel/clarity so I've never used them. Always stuck to cheap PET and this is very similar.
Like I said though, I can't stress enough to be careful putting it on as it has a very strong adhesive. It is still easy to take off and leaves no residue, but getting dust/dirt/hair out after is impossible. It's not like normal PET that uses static.
I did get a short piece of hair on mine when installing, which I'd normally remove or put on a new film after, but with the adhesive and TPU this seems to have just molded around it and it's almost not noticable. Leaves no air as the protector won't push back up. I'm very OCD with my protectors.
EDIT: Also, another note is that where this is a hard TPU film I have noticed it resist scratches very well but will indent like the wet apply protectors when force is applied such as with a finger nail. It does seem to recover after awhile. Funny how it's a TPU that feels like film. Also, 4 days now and no signs of peeling/no scratches. My phone is in and out of my pants pocket all day long.

Use a piece of scotch tape to remove any dust the gets behind it. Just peel up your screen protector then use the tape (sticky side to screen protector sticky side) to pull any dust or hair off the inside.

I tried that. Tape stuck to the adhesive on the film and when pulling off left a mark where the tape was on it. Like I said, the screen protector has a strong adhesive and doesn't use static. Usually only static pet protectors can have dust removed with tape. In this case, the adhesive on the film is stronger than tape.
How's it holding up a week later?
great screen protector
thanks OP for recommending this
I installed mine a bit over a week ago and have to say fairly impressed with it. It is stronger than your normal PET protectors (doesn't get micro scratches easily) and has very strong adhesive as the OP mentioned (great for the edges).
I did buy the case friendly version though instead of the full screen one

As far as install is concerned - If you have a rubber squeegee (had one from the armorsuite products) it will help greatly. Combine that with the hinge method and you will get a really good install.
Cons
You have to be pretty damn exact for the borders. There is really no room for error.
Not glass but I am definitely happy with it.
I bought a wet install film screen protector and I am loving it... No touch sensitivity issues, easy to install, and self heals scratches... I have used it on on a few past phones as well as smartwatches and have never had any issues with them.

It’s Supershieldz for me.
Got these today. Chuck is right, they are somewhat a pain to install but the result is great. Recommend.
Does the material of the Jolojo feel rubbery like other films do or is it smoother with less friction?
