I've noticed that when I plug my phone in to charge from a wall outlet that there is no charging icon or notification if the phone is fast charging. I remember on my s10+ that I could see if the battery is fast charging or not and I would have the option to turn on or off fast charging
on the lock screen it will say if its charging rapidly

not that im aware of without root anyway and im not sure if you can do it with root as i have no intention of rooting this phone. You can use adaptive charging and it will charge slower, making sure youre at 100% by the time any alarm you have set is due.

Nah I don't need that option. I liked having the option of turning on/off fast charge with my s10+

Maybe this question has been asked for many user.. but I need more clearly solution. My Question is simple.
Which one the best method to change our #GNote2 battery?
a. Charge it whatever have a time to change
b. Change it when our #GNote2 said that we need to charge our battery
c. Always Change until it FULLY CHANGED... and never remove charger cable before battery full.
Or any the best method?
Thanks

No more battery memory right now .
Of coz you can use your phone battery to under 20% then charge it back to 100%
But it's not easy @ note2.
Everyday I have around 30-40% battery leave when I charging.

In his defense, I have had several phones where the charging port eventually got flaky and I also kind of worry about this slightly. This includes the note 1.

That has nothing to do with the battery and everything to do with being careless when plugging or unplugging.
OP, you may want to google or wiki the latest battery technology. Those 'tips' (b) and (c) you mentioned were good for NiMH batteries. Nowadays, we use Li ion or Li polymer batteries which do not need to be fully charged and discharged to maintain longevity.

Two things are important for prolonging your battery (lithium based) life: charging level and depth of discharge. avoid charging to 100% as much as you can, and also avoid wide discharging range.
A good strategy is to charge what you use, that is, if you use only 50% of the capacity every day, then only charge to 80% and use it down to 30%, then recharge.

Ive never heard 'avoid charging to 100%' .

It isn't. It's just more FUD about batteries... *sigh*
Listen people. It's -really- very simple. There are no tricks involved. Just drain your battery how you like and charge it how you like. These phones are designed for average people in mind. People who don't have a CLUE about having special discharge/recharge routines. They're designed to be charged whenever the user wants to charge, to 100% or not, as the user likes. The hardware within the charging circuit and battery itself will protect it from harm.
I am running BlueLightning-20140410-jflte as my ROM, with the 3.4.82-ChronicKermel-KK4.4-AOSP-JFLTE-v3.1 kernel.
I have my governor set to ondemand, with my low clock speed set to 189MHz and the highest at 918MHz.
With the sound set to one click past off, with Wifi, Mobile Data and GPS turned off, with the screen on the dimmest settings, my battery STILL drains when I have the phone plugged in, if I am actively using an app or playing a game.
I did not find a Fast Charge option on this ROM, and I had to uninstall Xposed Framework, because it was preventing several of my apps and games from running.
I can't think of a reason that the battery would still be draining this quickly, using the settings that I described.
Is there something I am doing wrong, or something I missed along the way somewhere?
Thanks in advance for any advice.
Try a different kernel

To what are you plugged while charging? If you are plugged to a wall-outlet, make sure you are using the Samsung wall adapter (or at least one that can push 1.9A). I've found out that it isn't usually the cable that causes slow charging, but the wall adapter.
Also, download an app from the Play Store called Charging Current Lite to see what your charging rate is. While 1900mA (1.9A) is optimal, anything above 600-700mA should be enough to charge while in use. Much lower than that, you will only maintain what charge level you have or slowly drain power.

It's usually the wall adapter, but it is not the one that came with my phone. I got mine off of Craigslist, and it didn't come with a charger. I've been using the same one I used on my old LG Optimus L9. I never considered that.
Figured that plugging it directly into my computer via USB would give a weaker charge, but never thought it could be the wall charger, itself.
I'll run those tests and report back. Thanks!

Why would you disable quick charge ? It`s healthier for the battery anyway.

I wanted to say quick charge 3.0 is definitely better than quick charge 2.0 (less heat, faster charging).
Its best to not charge your phone from 0 to 100 all the time, it is said that its bad for battery.
I think you dont need to worry about this. After all, its a li-on battery, it will die sooner or later. The thing I worry about is that the battery cannot be removed without tearing up the phone (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eLTDFAWyyM0). The inner parts are like a sandwich, everything is tight glued together, and that is bad for the battery as well.

You misunderstand the fast charge option in ice. That is a kernel option that increases the voltage to the phone when connected to computer via USB. It has nothing to do with Quick Charge 3.0 technology.

No. To my knowledge it only increases the amount of power the phone draws from a computer usb port for faster charging when connected to a computer.

9to5Google has released an interesting article. I never noticed this, since I charge my phone slowly overnight with a 5 watt wireless charger. Have you guys also experienced this? Can people here with root can confirm wattage measurements? Especially the decrease overtime?
As it seems, both the Pixel 6 & Pixel 6 Pro are affected by this.
Google is notorious for having algorithms that sometime suck and need refinement, just like Adaptive Charging that only likes you when you are a normal human being that wakes up in the morning; if you are a night worker, Google doesn't care about you.
Pixel 6 doesn't actually charge at 30W as Google implies, analysis finds 22W max
A new analysis of the Pixel 6 charging speeds finds that the phone never hits its advertised 30W charging speeds, even under ideal conditions.

At this point I'd rather have a broken adaptive charging setting as the culprit. Maybe it's active without people having the toggle on. As far as I know, the "trigger" for adaptive charging is an alarm set in the morning. Would be interesting to know if the people with slow charging problems have any alarms set at all, to rule that out.
I was going to take the charger back because I had to pay for it and for the most part was no faster than my previous pixel phones, a couple of days ago tried the two chargers side by side, and this time the charger was apparently going to be 30mins faster to fully charge, nothing scientific rather looking at time till full on lock screen.
And as you mention in the evenings charges super slowly, so no point having a charger that I had to pay for.
The has been plenty of people saying that their phone never fully charges, and my guess also is no alarm set
I'm having similar issues with wireless charging so I think this is probably part of a bigger problem with the phone, and probably why they haven't put out the new pixel stand yet. It could really tank the launch if they released it today and the phone still has all these problems and can't charge at the advertised 23 Watts.
After reading this I'll be sending my charger back, no immediate need for it at the moment, perhaps further down the line if Google sort it out on the phone.
Google need to address this because a lot of us have bought the official charger and it's not giving what is advertised. They'll keep quiet about it though until any sort of noise from it dies down.

Mine was charging at 27.4W (fluctuating between 25W-27.4W, I'm assuming because I had the display on) using Google's 30W power brick. My battery was at 71%, I'm going to try it when the battery is lower to see if I can get 30W.
The article says it doesn't go over 22W, that's already false in my case.

Not sure how you're getting 27.4w there? 30w is approximately 6000mah current draw, no?

It depends on the voltage. The specifications of the power brick say that at 5V and 9V it outputs 3A of current.
You can see from the screenshot I posted that the phone was pulling 3.076A @27.4W.
P=VI, so V=P/I
V=27.4W/3.076A=8.91V
It seems pretty spot on to me.
Attached the specifications of the power brick.
The phone doesn't want to fast charge when the screen is on. It only charges at 5 watts but when I turn off the screen it goes back to the full 15 watts or 22-25 when I'm using the super fast charging adapter. The phone is fully updated.
This is a problem only on this device as my A51 doesn't have this problem, and neither does my dad's A51.
Welcome to XDA
It's not suppose to fast charge with the display on. Dependent on the amount of current draw and battery temperature/condition.
Too much current draw and/or low/high battery temperature fast charging will not engage or will disengage to protect the battery...

Exactly. The display alone is likely drawing too much current.
You can use bluetooth and listen to Poweramp or take a call with the display off while fast charging. As long as it's not actively using the internet and the display is off it should work.
This is typical fast charging behavior for Samsung's.
