Question Pixel 6 Pro Wifi Issues - Google Pixel 6 Pro

Just got the new Pixel 6 Pro and already I'm having issues connecting to my WiFi (2.4ghz and 5ghz). It will connect for a few seconds, disconnect, connect but will display no internet, or sometimes not connect at all. My Pixel 5 has no issues with my WiFi btw. I've tried factory reset 3x, updated to 11/5 patch, turned airplane mode on/off, reset router and modem, turn off and then turn on phone, and still no luck. Anyone else with a similar issue?

Try disabling randomized MAC under Security settings for your network.

For what it's worth, I haven't had any problems, and I haven't had to disable the randomized MAC or anything else. I hope you get it working.

Thanks for the responses! I disabled the randomizing MAC option for my WiFi. It still kept disconnecting/reconnecting, but after about 5 minutes it finally just stayed connected

Update: Keeps disconnecting from WiFi again. It'll connect for about 10-15 seconds and then disconnect. Randomized MAC is disabled, have the latest updates, and tried powering all the way down and back on again. The constant switching is also draining the battery and making my phone hot. Any ideas on what to do other than not have WiFi on my Pixel 6 Pro?

having similar issue with mine. is your router wifi 6 ?
I have an issue with an eero in my ring pro base station, but not my google wifi mesh network.
just got the ring pro, so havent had time yet to thoroughly investigate for a solution yet.

Are you using your wifi with an allowed/restricted Mac list? I have to reboot my router everytime I change the list for the connection to stabilize.

same here, had the exactly same issue with my pixel 4 xl. I'm using a Fritz!Box 7590 without WIFI 6.
WPA2 / no random macs / band 5 for 2.4Ghz / 5Ghz disabled
Still the same issue. Pretty annoying.

no WiFi 6. Using netgear orbi rbr40 with latest firmware. Tried connecting to both 2.4ghz and 5ghz, and also not using an allowed/restricted Mac list. Rebooted router again just to see what happens and my Pixel 6 Pro stayed connected a bit longer on the initial connection and then after about a minute the connection started to drop again. Would rooting and flashing whatever is available here in the community fix whatever is causing this issue?

I have had the 6 Pro for about 2 weeks and several days ago phone calls I tried to make timed out after 10 seconds. Restarting would work for about an hour.
Verizon Store (individual owned - Littleton, MA) was wonderful. After checking settings and replacing SIM they called Google Support. This is a known issue so they had the fix:
System- Reset Options - Reset Wifi, Mobil, Blue Tooth, then pick reset settings. Power Down, Restart.
Worked like a charm. Give it a try and hope it works for you.

FWIW my modem took a complete dump so I have a new one on the way. I think this is definitely a bigger issue.

[Q] Wifi issues

Hey guys,
So all of a sudden, my wifi is searching and not connecting in a campus setting. My Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 is still connected to the same wifi my Note 4 was. I have tried rebooting, removing battery, shutting off and on data and wifi, and airplane mode. Nothing reconnects it. Also tried forgetting all networks since there are 5 when searching for networks it finds and reconnecting to one, still no dice. It's been 4 hours, still can't reconnect. Any ideas?

Have you tried to forget the network and then ADD it with + Add Wi-Fi network? I actually had an issue playing with a Galaxy note 10.1 2012 edition, I turned my hotspot (sprint note 4) on and named it the same as our current network (was showing how open networks aren't always the network they say and anybody can create a Starbucks-Guest network.... I used starbucks-guest because I didn't want to put my schools on here). The tablet didn't see the network even after reboots, but when I added the network manually it connected right away. Also was this connecting to the same access points or different ones on the other side of campus?
Yep tried forgetting, re-adding the wifi spot and nothing.
I've been having wifi connection issues since day one of getting this phone.
Not sure if I have the same problem.
But at least once a day, it seems the phone can no longer make a connection to my wifi.
The only solution is to either just power off the phone and restart or do what Sprint asked me to do.
Sprint said to try and reset the network connection information by dialing ##72786#
The phone will power off and then restart do some background stuff and then power off again and restart.
Once that is done, all is fine.
I've never had this happen on any other of my Android devices. I even use a static IP with my phone setup.
And yes, I have tried just using the default of DHCP.
I had thought it was my router (Asus RT-AC68U) which transmits both 2.4ghz and 5ghz. I have both setup and I try to use 5ghz the most.
I did upgrade the router software because I was one version behind, but that did not fix anything.
Also, I had a Sprint femocell in my house (provided for free from Sprint) because I had bad signal issues years ago.. But because this phone uses LTE and now it seems the phone comes with built-in WiFi Calling. (Means instead of using the cellular network it will use my network and ISP to make Sprint calls, all voice and text messages come through normally, it's basically a built-in femocell).
I returned that, whoops still in the box, need to get that mailed out fast.
I'm not sure how widespread this issue is, but I suspect it's bigger that just the two of us here. And if I'm in the wrong thread, please let m know.
Thanks
Rob

[Q] Wireless Issues with Note 4

Has anyone experienced issues with Wireless?
I will be connected to a wireless network, can disconnect and reconnect just fine, everything seems to be working, but if I open an app that is trying to load data, it does nothing, as thought I have no connection. I have tried turning it off and on, forgetting the network(s) and reconnecting and the only thing that ever fixes the issue is a restart of the phone. Once I restart it will work just fine until the next "blip" in the radio.
Thanks in advance,
Zach
Yep, I have this issue but only when connected to my WiFi extender. Connecting to the main router works fine.
Just to add info, I connect to a Samsung Verizon Extender every day since owning the Note 4 and have no issues.
I also have never had any issues like the OP mentioned. I would start looking at apps you have installed.
Remove and test and so on. I did a quick search and did not find this to be any known issue.

My issue exist on both me and my wife's note 4. Both exhibited this issue from the initial setup. It's unfortunate and annoying. If it weren't for the camera and s-pen I would've already gone back to my M8.

I found this, maybe it will work, sorry you are having troubles.
Problem: Wi-Fi connection
Every time a new smartphone is released there are a lot of reports about problems with connecting to Wi-Fi networks or maintaining good Wi-Fi speeds. Here’s what to try if it happens to you:
Potential solutions:
Try turning your Note 4 and your router off for a couple of minutes. Now turn them on again and retry the connection.
Take a look in Settings > Power saving and make sure that low battery life isn’t restricting your Wi-Fi.
Try forgetting the connection, choose your router in Settings > Wi-Fi and Forget. Enter the details again.
Try the free Wi-Fi Analyzer app and see if the channel you’re using is crowded. Change to another channel if it is.
Take a look at the settings on your router. Make sure that MAC filtering isn’t on, or add your Note 4’s MAC address, which you’ll find in Wi-Fi > Settings > Advanced.
Make sure that your router firmware is fully up to date.

Thanks. Funny you should post this, I read it right after I posted here and was planning to check out the MAC filtering when I get home. Weird thing is this: My phone connects to the main router fine, with zero issues of any kind. We have a WiFi-extender by NetGear. My phone will connect to it, but will not exchange any data. My computers, HTC One, and my wife's old S5 all connected to the extender fine. Now, neither of our N4's will properly connect to it. It certainly doesn't seem like an issue with the extender, but that's not to say it isn't possible, and I sure hope that it is and not an inherent problem with the phone. Will try some troubleshooting tonight and report back.
I've run into an issue with the wifi since getting my Note 4 last Friday. The problem I am having is it will connect to my wifi network without any issues, but after a while (it could be 2~8 hours) my note4 will lose it's connection to the wifi router and not be able re-connect until I reboot the phone. I have a dual band ASUS router with the latest firmware, when the note4 craps on itself with the wifi, the wirelessG connection will keep asking for the password and come up with "authentication error" and the wirelessN connection will come up with "unable to obtain ip address"
When the note 4 has this issue, my router log shows "Dec 9 16:54:28 kernel: eth1: received packet with own address as source address", checking further into the logs on the router, this didn't start popping up until I got the note 4. I am hoping it is a software issue, Verizon did however confirm that there is an update coming out the the next few days to address a wifi performance issue...
I have other wireless devices that use both wireless G & N and don't have any issues, i've rebooted the router a few times even though that is not the problem. I even hooked up a different router to see if that would help, but the same problem is still there.
After playing around with different settings, I have yet to find a solution to this problem. Verizon support has me running the phone in safe mode to see if it's an app causing the problem.....
Are you by any chance using 5 GHz on your router? I am having issues with 5 GHz connections and no issues with 2.5.

Anyone else having WiFi randomly disconnect and reconnect?

I just got this phone yesterday and so far I just cannot get it to stay connected to my network. No other devices are having this problem. It basically just seems to constantly connect and disconnect from the wifi and also seems to constantly search for other connections as well. I've tried factory reset, cache clearing(which never works as it just red triangle error's me), reset the router, tried to change settings in phone itself but nothing seems to fix it and it's making it impossible to use at home. Anyone have any suggestions?
Same thing here. I went in and turned off all the wifi in battery power saving exclusions. Ain't been home long enough to try though.
I'm having this same issue! My prior daily (S9+) didn't have this issue, and my Pixel 2XL doesn't have this issue. I could be right next to the router and it still does this. Doesn't seem to matter if I'm at home, work, parents house, or a cafe, it still randomly loses connection. Same with my Gear S3. Just randomly loses connection. It's pretty annoying, and I hope they offer a software fix. Yes, I factory reset the phone and it still occurs.
I noticed this only with the 5 GHz band... I will contact LG about it today...
Yeah, I'm having the same issue. My router broadcasts both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz on the same SSID. Last I'd heard, Android wouldn't connect to 5 GHz in that circumstance, and my G7 appears to continue that trend.
But it still disconnects from the network all the time.
Sadly I have the same issue. I have different SSID for 2.4 and 5Ghz band, and as devil_tear says it's fails only with the 5ghz band. I did a factory reset but issue stills there.
Did you found a fix for this issue?
Had the same problem. Solved by enabling wifi on the battery saving power exclusions in the battery menu.

Thanks a lot for this tip.
Had the same problem, was burning through my 4G data at a rate much faster than on my Google Pixel.
So far, adding wifi to the power saving exclusion has seemed to fix the issue. Thank you!
PS: Does any else find the wifi signal on this phone is weak?

Great suggestion
Tried the suggestion here for adding WiFi to exclusion. WiFi on 5ghz still disconnects and reconnects every few seconds. Only way to keep it connected is putting it on 2.4ghz.
Tried the suggestion with reboots, factory reset, adding WiFi to exclusion and then connecting to the network. My g7 will just not work with it.

Have seen this also, in my case it happens when I am a bit far from the router, it may be the router not having a strong stable connection so the phone see it doesn't have internet. In the points I experience that I have a 5Ghz connection of 0-2Mb but I have maybe 2 bars of connection. Share your opinions to try to understand the problems.

For me I would say it happens more if I have 2-3 bars but nonetheless it happens even 3ft away from the router eventually. what's odd is my note 5 stays connected, my computer, and other phone stay connected on the 5ghz band. All these devices are in the same location so I'm pretty dumbfounded especially considering this is a newer phone than the note 5 lol. I hope it can be fixed with an ota update

I have the same issues. I sent back the first phone for a replacement thinking it was the issue. When the second phone arrived it was working perfectly and then it happened again.
I noticed this happened after I took whatever software update was offered. I went as far to switch providers with different equipment (fibe to cable) but same result.
Made specific 2.4ghz SSID for LG G7 and no issues.
I've never seen this happen. And my laptop and LG are using the same 5 ghz signal.
I think I remember the G6 doing this though

Just came back from my dad's house and I know it's a short test, however he has an Archer a7 connected after his dedicated provided box. I wonder if that can fix the issue?
I have the same issue.
it connects to 2.4Ghz networks fine but the range is very limited when I move to another room wifi reception decreases a lot. However my wife`s S9+ and my oneplus 6 works fine.
Main problem is when I connect to 5Ghz network it starts disconnecting and reception is even worse than 2.4Ghz. S9 and Oneplus connection is still fine at 5Ghz
I tried to change the 5ghz channels on the router but no luck and I exclude the WIFI from battery saving apps still didn`t work.
I have to use 2.4Ghz and the reception is not as good as other phones
Wifi seems stable for me, except wifi calling. That would crash at connection or even mid-call sometimes. I'd have to reboot to make or receive another call. Some sort of server error. Turned off wifi calling and no issues yet. Didn't notice Ed it anyway since 4g is really strong here.
After the newest update on my phone, taken today Oct 4th, 2018/my random WiFi disconnects haven't been happening at all on 5ghz. Also, the signal is about 3 bars larger now in the same location it used to be dropping out constantly. Hopefully it stays this way.

I was coming in to report something similar. I've got the US T-Mo version and just got the G710TM10K update yesterday.
WiFi stability has massively improved. Disconnects are almost completely nonexistent now. I haven't noticed that the signal bar is behaving any differently, but that doesn't mean a whole lot. The update was fairly large (over 400 MB), so I could see new firmware playing a role.
Could anyone still on G710TM10G post their data from Software Info to check if the baseband has been updated? Here's mine from 10K:
Android Version: 8.0.0
Android Security Patch Level: September 1, 2018

WiFi issues: can't connect to any network anymore [T800]

In the last 6 months or so I have been experiencing frequent wifi issues, regardless of the custom ROM I'm using. Usually some time after a new installation I am unable to connect to the networks I normally use (my home network and the one at work which uses a proxy server). No matter what I do (clear cache, factory reset, change ROM...) the problem persists. In settings a number of random messages are given: secured, disabled, authentication problem, etc. Every now and then I can get a connection (never at work though) but it doesn't last long. Any help for troubleshooting this would be appreciated. I hope it isn't hardware failure since I'm still enjoyng this tablet after all these years!
Mine started having wifi issues off and on a couple of weeks ago. The wifi started to not turn back on after waking it up, at first just in manually turning it off and then back on seemed to work. Last Friday it just wouldn't stay on at all. I would go to the wifi in settings, it sometimes would get stuck saying turning on. I finally did a factory reset on it, it at first seemed to fix the problem, even spent a couple of hours trying to get everything set back up. Then the problem returned, it just keeps turning the wifi off, if i can even get it to turn on at all. I was going to try and use my phone as a hotspot through Bluetooth (not sure if i can or jot, never tried before), but even the Bluetooth won't stay on. So Sunday, after spending way to many hours fighting with it, i went out and got a new tablet.

Have you tried using the Samsung Kies app to flash the latest stock rom, Dont use Odin or other non Samsung approved flashing software.
I have had my T800 for over 4 years and had no real problem with the wifi connection, But i have heard that there can be compatibility problems with some wifi routers, Also try changing the channel number on your router, Auto channel was giving me poor connection on my PC, I ran the inSSIDer wifi app and it said to manually change my wifi channel to channel 1 the clearest channel as other wifi and bluetooth and wifi dongle even you smart gas/electric can cause interference., auto was picking channel 13 for some reason and it fixed my problem.

Thanks, but since it's the router at my workplace there's not much I can do on that side. Question is, are there any specific steps I can take to verify if it's software-related or if the wifi module is just gone?
Wifi and Bluetooth both use the 2.4ghz frequency, So they can interferer with each other and can cause constant disconnect`s, I have seen this many time, Use 5.0ghz on your T800 if you can, Or disable Bluetooth.
Does your wifi work OK on other brands of router?, Or is it just the one you are using at work.
John.
It's kind of tricky to answer: let's say the times this issue appeared it always stareted at work, but then also at home I couldn't keep a stable connection. Once the problem starts, I get no connection at work at all and very difficult connection at home (meaning it does connect intermittently).
UPDATE. After other attempts and a complete restore of stock firmware, I have both wifi and bluetooth not working, constantly "turning on...." but never activating.

Hotspot Connectivity Problem

Guys i'm having a problem with Hotspot where i can't have anything connected to it for a prolonged time... I tried both 5 and 2.4Ghz but my Moto X4 and my friend's S10+ can't stay connected to it for even a second... It only works after i restart the note 8 pro a couple of times... And even then it disconnects from time to time... Any of you having the same problem?
Edit: I also tried it on two Laptops.. Still the same issue. Sometimes it says the password in incorrect and try again. But i connect with the QR code so that can't be true...
Possible interruption from another WiFi or other signals around your area. Try testing in a isolated are or use other places. It might be the WiFi channels collided.

I checked on another phone... This seems to be the issue but i will update on this once i get home. I'm almost sure i had the same issue at home.
Yup. That seems to be the issue.. thanks for clearing that up. However, does that mean I'm never going to be able to use hotspot at work.. or is there someway i can play around with the settings and fix this?
My phone is redmi note pro 8 , I am unable to connect my hotspot to any other device. I tried restarting and switching off my phone, also switched off other hotpot and wifi networks and tried both 2.4 and 5Ghz but didn't work.
for my device's hotspot there is no problem for connectivity but there is a bug where I can't see who is connected to my hotspot and only shows the number of connected devices which means I can't block users from my hotspot..
my advice try to flash again with the mi flash tool in fastboot mode.
to do so it must have unlocked the bootloader
I have this same problem for my redmi note 8 pro how to fix it
