Hello to all Note users, i would like to verify few things.
Does the device scratches easily? Does it have any wierd lags or slowdowns?

If you're getting the exynos variant then it'll be amazing, snapdragon is a different matter; I want to swap to s7e instead due to mediocre battery, random lag hippcups and lack of root
I am coming from S7e and couldn't be happier. I loved the S7e but N7 exynos is another class. Better class. Note class.
A few games currently run really slow on the Note 7, Mobius Final Fantasy, HIT & Non Stop Knight. Side from that everything is great!

Hi. Its NOT an upgrade. The Note 7 is a business phone to compliment to S7 range. In some ways there are big differences but this is aimed at power business users or consumers who require and use the S pen.
Its much to early to write a conclusive report on the Corning Gorilla glass. In most engineering scenarios durability will come at a small price of softer materials. If its true that the Note 7 can withstand several falls from 1.5m 'perhaps' some of the previous iterations of the glasses hardness have been compromised to allow for greater durability? More time will tell. Corning have said the Note 7 glass is just as scratch resistant?
As for "Lags and slow downs" There will always be a minority of naysayers who report such things but the vast majority will find this mobile superb is most aspects.
If you own the SGS 7 I doubt the sideways step is worth it unless you need the pen and extra internal storage etc. Its a tad Zen riddle in that the SGS 7 and the SGNote 7 are similar yet very different?
I suggest the only opinion that counts is your own. :good:

The comparisons between Honor 8 Pro and OP5 are going overboard but I am still left with some serious questions:
1. Has anyone's Honor 8 Pro survived drops? The Gorrila Glass 3 doesn't convince me 100%.
2. The OP5 seems to be resistant to water droplets/mild water contact. Does the Honor 8 Pro survive the same?
3. The most important question though is how serious and common is the heating issue? Some are okay with it, some say its dangerous. Can someone explain how badly it heats when using the camera and playing games?
I am in love with the Honor 8 Pro. If the above worries dont turn out to be very serious, I will be glad to be a part of this forum

Regarding the first 2, I don't think anyone will do it on purpose for test. Device screen getting shattered on drop is pure luck. Well, gorilla glass 3 is more scratch resistant than shatter resistant. Gorilla glass 5 is more shatter resistant than scratch resistant. ?
The phone does warm up a bit upto 43 degree Celsius according to reviews. It's upto you whether you find that comfortable or not.

I'm a casual games but do occasionally try stuff like screen recording while gaming, etc..
taken a few photos..
in both cases, the heat isn't enough to make me feel uncomfortable.
I guess heat on"metal" phone is perhaps a good thing as it means heat is being dissipated via back case.. no?

1) I have survived a drop. I am not used to such smooth back finish and I was casual on taking it out of my pocket and it slipped on solid floor and not even a scratch, neither on the back or the glass. Phewww! Escaped!
2) We are having monsoon here and now n then it has again survived the drizzle and wet pockets.
3) The heating issue is quite normal. After almost 2 weeks, according to my use, it seems now there is not much noticeable heating. On the first few days, I was crazy on VR, streaming in FHD and 2k, games and stuff. Now on occasional gaming and regular stuff, the things are much cooler.

Of course, its a good sign to know that heat is being let out but there must be a limit to it right Anyways, seems like the heating isnt worrying

Thank you for a detailed answer, I am relieved that the heating problem has subsided but can you please tell what's the case while recording videos?
Not the right person to answer since I don't record a lot of videos! The videos that I have recorded till now are not more than 10 mins and while recording those, it warmed a little and definitely not uncomfortable! And yes the camera app never crashed or stopped working neither there was any lagginess or slow down later on!
Isn't Gorilla glas 3 and 5 equally resistant, just that the gorilla glas 5 does have some extra "stuff" (can't bother to Google it)? And the 5 lacks oleophobic coating which means it doesn't resist crease as well, at least that was the case with the P10 Plus in EU.
The heating hasn't been an issue for me at all, though the hottest it's been around here is about 24C. Mostly do gaming when I notice the phone getting warmer.
I can also confirm that the phone stays on in minus Celsius degrees and let's you take photo without a problem, if it helps

Just got this phone a few days ago, LOVE IT.
I really like the ZenMotion stuff too, usually I'd have to root to get stuff like that on other devices.
I dumped my old S5 for this phone back in August '17... it's been the best phone that I've owned to date.
Never regretted getting it, I liked the long battery life and it's good photography.

Coming from a Nexus 5x that broke while out of town on Vacation I swung in to make an emergency replacement purchase @best buy.
It was my 3rd choice as the first two were out of stock. I was just going to pick anything similar in size with capacitive touch buttons. No flagships because I hate them all (Pixel 2 & 2XL, Anything Samsung, too many short comings for today's devices pushing up on the $1000.00 window)
So, being in a hurry I walked out with the Asus Zenfone 3 Zoom which I have never even heard of. I see its marshmallow and I sunk a little but in a few days I was on Oreo. Dang! OK!
Then I read of white line issues so I'm rolling the dice but its a late production model and so far so good since 5/1/2018 of heavy use and several updates.
But.......... Over the 5x - Call quality and signal strength , WiFi reception, and speaker volume screen brightness in the sun all CRUSH the 5x. Battery Life Is Unreal!
I have my complaints over the out dated 5x although they are minor to a degree,
Slower fingerprint reader (sometimes)
Sometimes a back button lag (rarely)
Slippery when carrying naked (I put a Xiaomi Skin on it)
After Oreo if a memory card is inserted the finger print reader gets slower.
This is going to hold me over while I wait for the Pixel 3, I waited for the OnePlus 6, HTC U12 Plus, and am not impressed. But for $300.00 in the Zenphone 3 Zoom I am.

Holy sh*t, great post man. I dont need a zenfone 3 zoom but i kinda want one for the EPIC RUN TIME(Pocketnow review) lol. If its served you well and you really like why would you already consider replacing it with the pixel 3? Just curious..

May I ask you to elaborate a bit further regarding the above statements? I believe I'm missing something, as my interpretation of them currently, is something like if I said, "I hate anything with nuts in it, peanuts, almonds, cashew, ect... I'll never eat anything made with them in it. BTW, since you didn't wanna share yours earlier, can you grab me a king size, Reese's PB cup and an almond Snickers bar, on your way back? I suddenly got the munchies.."
Heh, You lost me too. Update on the Zenfone 3 Zoom, it got wet and the screen and/or digitizer needs to be replaced. It boots to the pin screen but is unresponsive to touches.
The ONLY 2 complaints I have on the device is when you insert an SDCard in the expansion slot the phone developes lag, especially when unlocking via finger print. This is with a Sandisk Ultra. And like most devices these days its slippery to hold.
Keep in mind I am a google android & nexus fan boy since their releases. Wanting to upgrade from the 5x I was let down by the google pixel price hikes and the newer ones with screen burn and color issues and lousy speakers. Seems Google is getting into greed and feature hype marketing. Yes they have a great camera but who cares. Not me anyway. I'm a semi pro photographer and know whats going on there.
Samsung no unlocking boot loader and root and android butchering. Overpriced and form over function as in being slippery, easy to damage glass, and the wrap around screens most of my friends complain about.
The HTC U12, Dahum! What a monster of a great device but for the BUTTONS! The hardware and features in this phone are the max but they committed suicide by button! I have handled one with the so-called button fix and its still less than sure footed. Enough for me to avoid the purchase.
Oneplus 6, Caugh! Ahem! Back Stroke! Choking on a little Crow, I have one now 8GB RAM - 128GB still within the 15 day trial and have been converted. I love this thing so far. The boot-loader is unlocked, rooted via Magisk running EX Kernel. The device is a performance beast with a great camera.
Yes slippery glass, I have a dbrand dragon skin on it that helps a little, not much, but better, I use their flip case on the job and its great, I chose it over the 6t for the rear FPS & HPjack. I have ear bud sets I don't want to abandon although a USB-c set works via enabling OTG in settings.
Yes coming from the 5x most any new phone is going to be a night and day performance experience but now my upgrade dilemma is over.
I'm addicted to mobile gaming. Every morning during my commute to work I get out my phone and start playing Fortnite. Sometimes I get so absorbed in the game to the extent that my 50-minute commute passes by in the blink of an eye. Naturally nothing gets me more excited than new tech that could make gaming better, even something as simple as more screen makes me happy.
But this notch really gets to me. A lot of times I thought I'd pressed the right button, only to find out that I'd actually poked the notch, and in the next second I'm out of the game.
So when I heard about Honor's new notch-less View 20, I thought that could be the phone for me. My only concern though, is whether the hole-like camera is robust enough to withstand scrapes or bumps. I'm quite clumsy and don't want to break it every time the phone slips out of my hands. The new design looks a bit fragile…
Has anyone got their hands on a View 20? Any gamers have phone recommendations? Please let me know if you think the money's worth it!

I have the honor View 20 and would like to start off by saying, this is one of the best phones for gaming. It has the powerful kirin 980 paired with huaweis GPU turbo 2.0 and has liquid cooling.
Regarding the robustness, I would definitely recommend buying a tempered glass screen protector as the glass on the phone isn't gorilla glass so you'll see scratches form when you drop it or put it in your pocket with for example your keys. This goes for the back of the phone as well. I wanted to use the phone for a day without the case and once I got home found that there was a faint scratch on the back. So definitely get a glass screen protector and either buy a case or use the one included
After playing a few games on the Honor View20, I can say that it is definitely one of the best options for someone who spends a lot of time gaming. The phone never got warm and the performance is amazing. It will be interesting to see how to ToF camera is used more in the future for gaming. They have a few games that use it now, but it's more or less a gimmick at this point. Overall it's a very good gaming phone.
If this is asked, I didn't see it but I wanted to ask the guys using the P6P before I decide which way I'm going, are you happy with the 6P or would trade down for the P6 Pro? And I ask this as someone who always goes with the bigger version (P4 XL, currently for example).
I'm guessing there are some of yo have test-driven both.
And if so, I'm curious about why or why not?? The extra $300 is a little harder to swallow 2 months after buying a house in an inflating economy...

I decided on the pro for the LTPO display and the 48 telephoto. I learned quickly that 120hz eats the battery so I keep it at 60 which helps a LOT.
Other than that if I had a choice to go back and save the 300 I probably would. It's not that much better. And the stereo speakers are not balanced AT all.

That's actually - at the moment - not true. There seems to be a strange bug.

I appreciate that. It's one of the reasons that I not sure which way to go, in that I don't need the enhanced resolution because I don't watch video on my phone or play games. It's just a nice feature to have it I guess but it's not a deal-breaker. The extra size is nice but mostly it's performance that I look for and from what I've read it's not a huge difference between devices.

I'm very happy with the P6 Pro and don't want to miss it. I come from the Pixel 4 XL, so the new wide cam is a nice addition. Considering that the P6 Pro has a magnificent Tele zoom (better than the new IPhones), there is no way that I would go to the Pixel 6 non pro, certainly not for "just" 300 bucks. There are just too many arguments - that matter to me - that make the Pixel 6 Pro the better value for my money.
If we would live in a better world, the Pixel 6 would have the same size than the older "non" xl/pro versions - so in that case, if the Pixel 6 would be a small phone, I would maybe consider it. But since the Pixel 6 is as big as the P6 Pro...

My main reason for buying the Pro was because of the 512 GB storage model available only on the Pro. Bought one for both my wife and me.
If there was a 512 GB model available for the P6, I would've seriously considered it. I have no regrets buying the P6P, though.
welcome to the indecisiveness club. The pro has that curve which Im not sure about but on the regular 6 you loose that QHD display(my 2 XL has it) and loose telephoto. Hell I can't even decide if want either new device with the fingerprint complaints LOL.
I tried out both the 6 and the Pro over the weekend. Colour temperature of the screen was a bit different, but I couldn't see a difference in clarity (resolution) at arm's length. Small difference in phone size. The telephoto on the Pro was super nice, but the curved screen was awful - hit edge of screen when holding phone. I'm going to put on a case, which should help, but the feel in the hand and curved screen were enough to push me to save the $.
I'm on T-mobile, who theoretically have some mmwave coverage, but at least today I don't think I am going to miss those bands in real-time use (heck, the LTE bands barely penetrate my building).
If you like bigger, more development, and price point, then try the Pro...
I do have both phones. Wife murdering me ugh.
Ordered the Cloudy White Pixel 6 Pro originally, and had it delivered, and upon opening the box and looking over this super cool new phone, the curved edge display jumped out at me, not in a good way. The screen edges looked like an old Samsung Galaxy phone from years ago, just a dated look, and they add absolutely nothing useful to the phone. Feels more like a Samsung phone, not a Google Pixel.
Plus tapping on the phone or using the keyboard, there's this strange hollow feel behind the 6 Pro, hard to describe until you have it in your hands, but it feels sort of cheap.
I then went to T-Mobile, picked up a Seamfoam green Pixel 6, and my goodness, night and day better. Just feels rock solid, the FLAT screen a dream. This Pixel 6 feels more Google type, and just a nicer phone to hold and use.
But I will admit, the 6 Pro does feel slightly faster and smoother than the 6.
If you have to question if the extra $300 is worth it for the 6 Pro, just go for the 6. The 6 is the Pixel for most people anyway. I went with the 6 Pro because I want the best Google has to offer and the 6 isn't it. I'm a previous 2 XL and 4 XL owner.

And that's just it. I always go for the bigger model, but times are a little tough right now, which is the only reason I'm even debating one or the other

Lol this guy knows what he's talking about. I love the pixel 6 pro. When i walked into best buy 2 weeks ago, i instantly noticed a stark difference between it and the normal 6. The resolution difference is immediately noticeable. The smoothness, also instantly noticable. People that say they don't notice a difference between 90 and 120hz, well, all i can say is these people need their eyes checked. It's as obvious as night and day.
The biggest thing that left an unfavorable taste in my mouth, was how much the normal pixel 6 looks like a phone that was released in early 2018. Those. Massive. Antiquated. Bezels. Those bezels are simply to huge and gross. Also nobody seems to be pointing out the obvious. The build quality on the 6 looks very lackluster, and way less premium than the 6 pro . Just my two cents.
Do i wish the pixel 6 pro had a less curved screen? Sure, of course. After using the phone though, the curves are so appealing to the design asthetic, and it rests so ergonomically and beautifully in the hand. Google was also careful to design the curves to not refract light to much, or cause app padding/distortion. I love this device.
Many people or complaining about the fingerprint sensor and saying it's bad. It's not quite fast as OP9 Pro, but it's simply excellent. I have four prints for each thumb, screen sensitivity is set to to on and it's blazing fast and works every time.
Now, with that said, there most definitely are some legitimate complaints about this device, in my opinion. That unequivocally would be the charging speed, and the color reproduction. Thanks to some awesome third party apps, this problem is completely fixed. My device charges at more than acceptable speed, and the colors have a vibrant, slightly cooler whitepoint. No more beyond fugly piss colored screen. I'm on cloud 9.

Bro do what you want, but 60 hz should be banned and retired. Without exaggeration, it really is that bad. Stuttery, janky, and looks horrible. Not only that, but the battery savings are not profound. To make matters even worse, it's been reported by Ars Technica, that 60 hz on the pro is currently inexplicably worse battery life than 120hz. I know, i know, that makes zero sense.
Bottom line is 60 hz should be removed completely from 2021 devices for scrolling in my opinion. 60 hz was decent a few years ago, because we simply didn't know any better. We don't know what we don't know. The experience with it is horrible. The screen LTPO should only fluctuate between 90 and 120, for movement IMHO. Of course once the screen goes static, i don't care if the hz stops down to 30, as long as it's hidden well, once you touch the screen again.
According to reviews the P6 struggles to keep thermals in check and gets hot. While the P6P remains cooler, according to comparisons.

After using the phone though, the curves are so appealing to the design asthetic, and it rests so ergonomically and beautifully in the hand. Google was also careful to design the curves to not refract light to much, or cause app padding/distortion. I love this device.
Many people or complaining about the fingerprint sensor and saying it's bad. It's not quite fast as OP9 Pro, but it's simply excellent. I have four prints for each thumb, screen sensitivity is set to to on and it's blazing fast and works every time.
Now, with that said, there most definitely are some legitimate complaints about this device, in my opinion. That unequivocally would be the charging speed, and the color reproduction. Thanks to some awesome third party apps, this problem is completely fixed. My device charges at more than acceptable speed, and the colors have a vibrant, slightly cooler whitepoint. No more beyond fugly piss colored screen. I'm on cloud 9.

Can I ask you what third party app you used to change color reproduction ?
The thick bezels on the regular 6 are a turn off for me, so the P6P it is despite the LTPO display being limited by the SOC's lack of Auto-VRR switching
Not even a $300 tag would justify those bezels which look more like a ploy to upsell you to the (arguably) more aesthetically pleasing P6P

I couldn't agree with this more. I'm surprised that the masses don't see this. There's tons of dumb posts of people thinking the P6 is a better choice, on Reddit and this forum. Scratching my head.
People are bound to justify their purchase decisions despite contrary facts presented. Case in point, people accepting the Notch, first brought to market by Essential and made popular by Apple
I like how every new product release brings to light the previous version's shortcomings but people are too eager to justify their next new purchase, time and time again, with Capitalism ensuring that each version of product has at least one deliberate flaw introduced that is conveniently fixed with a brand new purchase of the next iteration. Never Settle
I'm sure the P6 is exactly what some folks need, and hard to justify a 50% ($300) price difference for P6P. If they had a 512 GB model of the P6, I would've considered it, and it's at least slightly smaller - some folks don't want a bigger phone, and having a flat-screen is at least some advantage.
