Phone became literally slow - OnePlus 5T Questions & Answers

I was just playing a game and while it was downloading some updates, the phone suddenly became like this.
WP_20200531_11_44_47_Pro.mp4
MP4 File
1drv.ms
I've already tried restarting, shutting down, and factory reset but the phone is still this unbearably slow.
Any idea on what's causing this? I'm assuming this is a hardware issue since factory reset didn't fix it, right?

I also see a rainbow pixel static noise when unlocking the phone like the one mentioned here:

And also when I boot the phone, the phone will slowly display the oxygen os circle animation but there are already notification sounds.

[Q] Stuck at startup screen and CM 10 question

I was using Energy ROM (dated June 2012) and my KF suddenly locked up. I rebooted the KF and it stuck at the color tiles for at least 10 minutes before I gave up and restarted it, which didn't help. I then flash it with the latest Energy ROM and the problem won't go away and I used the complete wipe option. I also tried out Alien ROM and Hashcode's CM 10 ROM. While both of them would boot fine, I have problem with internet videos in browser. Particularly, the video control bar would pop up and down as soon as I nudge the KF. This was happening when I'm using Dolphin and the default browser. Is there a way to fix it?
What recovery are you using? Version? Not that it really matters. I'm just curious why Energy wouldn't work after a complete wipe.
To fix the problem you have with videos, simply turn your rotation off.
I believe TWRP is 2.2.2.1 and latest FFF bootloader retrieved from KFU. If I turn off rotation, wouldn't the display be stuck at 1 orientation?
LOL. Rotate your device, THEN turn rotation off. The rotation is pretty sensitive and when the media player detects a slight amount of rotation, it acts up.
OK I'm dumb =). I noticed that in the default browser, it doesn't suffer from the annoying video controls popping up and down. However, Dolphin still does so I assume it's Dolphin's problem. I'm using iPad as user agent otherwise the sites will try to get me to install Flash.
However, my original problem with Energy ROM baffles me. A few months back, I notice it was gradually slowing down and getting less responsive and completely dropping WiFi connections. So I reformat and reinstall it and it ran until I notice the same problem until it locked up for good. What kind of problem is preventing the ROM from running properly even after a full wipe install?
Energy ROM hasn't been updated in months and is pretty much dead in the water. The 3.0 kernel for the Kindle Fire has been updated many times since Energy was last active here.

GNex just went crazy. Any clue?

So a couple of days ago, my Nexus was just fine. Smooth as butter..then i decided to charge it overnight as usual(the phone was not turned off). next day, i pick the device..everything is normal. Couple of hours later, out of NOWHERE, strange things begin to occur. Some apps coudn't load properly(the would open, but kept loading forever), none of my videos would play(they keep loading, won't start), even using different players, the camera would not load, black screen and nothing when i open the app..tried other camera apps as well, same thing happens with the gallery..
i mean, i don't recall doing anything different. My phone is rooted with CNA, never experienced anything like this before.
i already did wipe data/factory reset, wiped cache, etc. tried several other Roms as well..it remains the same.
it just boggles my mind what may be causing this "behavior", It was really out of nowhere.
---------
ok, so after further observation, the thing with the videos is that i can't play them using any kind of hardware decoding..they still play( choppy) with soft decoding
a hardware malfunction maybe?
unbeliavable..
Could be a bad battery.

Unfortunately i don't have an extra battery at hand
Last night tried the following:
1 - Factory reset/wipe data
2- Reflash the stock rom, relocked bootloader
Put the phone literally back to the way i got him, and STILL have the same issues!!!! It's just so weird, some apps are normal, others crash every single time, black screen on camera app, gallery opens but sometimes show pics, and others just keep loading and eventually crashes, can't play videos with HW decoding(manage to play fine twice but i have no idea how).
Again, it just happened out of nowhere! The thing is unusable at this point, just unbelievable!!!!
I'm willing to bet you it's definitely a bad battery

Random Freezing and Crashing

Hey guys, i love my pixel 3 XL its been great but it has been randomly freezing and locking up, somtimes requiring a restart.
Other time i get the system UI crashed message and then i close it and it works again. Sometimes Chrome or the camera app locks up and crashes too.
Anybody experiencing this? Any ideas on a fix, maybe the next December OTA will fix it hopefully.
Thanks

I'm getting pretty fed up of factory resetting my phone, the phone started saying it's corrupt so I ended up reflashing it and that issue is now gone, but this freezing issue happens every now and then. You really think a factory reset is worth trying? Or could have something of gone wrong with the reflash?

I absolutely would try a factory reset if things are acting strange for no apparent reason.

If you flashed the factory image it's either a hardware or app issue. Have you tried using the phone for awhile with a minimum of apps? I'd give that a try I don't think a factory reset will do anything if you've already flashed the factory image.

try the flash-all.bat then when its complete go to stock recovery and format /data
are you using substratum?
Pixel 3 XL crashing
I have had the same problem. My system UI crashes since new, along with other apps and the phone becomes non-responsive. I thought it was just a new phone glitch that would be fixed with an update, no such luck... I need to do a hard reboot by holding the power button until it reboots. I bought a Pixel 2 XL in August and never had any problems like this. I finally contacted Google about the problems and they RMA'd it. I never root my phones before making sure they work correctly, so this one is and has been stock, unrooted.
My wife and I have the 64GB models in Black (mine), White (hers). She's on her 3rd replacement phone for what seems to be a similar issue.
Symptoms:
When using the fingerprint reader to unlock the phone, it may not unlock for 10+ tries.
The phone's battery drains quickly, within a couple hours of barely any use, her phone might be down to 60-70%
System_UI crashes
Some apps don't seem to load quickly (Like going into messages, you see the app container, and a new chat button, but no messages load for a minute). Or she's had a straight up black screen, and the app wouldn't load.
Takes minutes to call or hang up a call and often takes rebooting to close out the phone app.
It almost seems like something is running in the background that is utilizing the CPU and causing the lag/app/battery issues.
Troubleshooting:
Factory Reset
Wiping Dalvik Cache
Replacing the phone twice through Verizon. The first replacement had the same issues immediately. The 2nd phone showed the same issues immediately, and then went away for 3 weeks since the Dec. 5th Security update, but in the past few days has returned.
Booted in Safe Mode (everything seems to be working fine however extremely limited).
We've also checked the processes and no apps seem to be running that would make any sort of impact.
Running out of ideas

Since the December update, the freezing issues I was having have been significantly reduced, but it still freezes sometimes... I am hoping the January update coming in the next week will smooth out any remaining bugs.
Any of you using a different launcher?
I had this freezing and non-responsive issue. The google rep, replaced it, he determined it is some kind of hardware issue. My replacement didn't have this issue at all (November update). However, the lag/stuttering still persists though. I had replaced quiet a few pixel 3 XL, and i am just getting tired of it. For a $1K phone, we shouldn't get mediocre quality of phone.
So my wife had been removing applications in small groups to try to narrow it down. It seemed for a week or so that she was in the clear and everything was working. Then all of a sudden she got the January update and her phone is still having issues.
Slow responding finger print reader.
System UI crashes
Unable to answer phone calls despite numerous attempts.
It still seems like there is something that is running in the background that is just using the processing power.

Get gsam from the app store, if you don't have it. After awhile see what apps are using battery, app sucker in the app. Gsam is a battery monitor.

Sadly, gsam and accubattery don't show anything out of the norm app wise.

Jibberish and noisey rendering in Google photos and chrome randomly turns black

I recently went through a disaster of switching to AOSP 9.0 custom ROM and when I tried to revert, I got my encryption password messed up by the recovery.
Restored everything to stock and then just rooted with magisk.
Phone, now is acting crazy. I've done 2 factory resets (literally lost 3+GB worth of photos and documents due to encryption lockout).
In Google photos I see my things backed up just fine but they appear jibberish and noisey on my phone's screen. They are fine otherwise if I explore my backup on PC. (Some rendering issues maybe?)
Secondly, Google chrome randomly turns into black screen while the webpage is alive (playing audio/video etc).
I need to resolve this issue. I'm currently on MIUI 10 8.12.27 beta. I didn't have any issue previously on 8.10.22 ROM before all the custom ROM and encryption fiasco.
Anybody has a clue how to resolve these issues?
Also, device randomly jumps to lockscreen while I'm in the interface (doesn't do so when I'm playing a game)
There are no artifacts or abnormal behavior while playing games. Only for 2D render.

Question Random System Crash When Connecting to an External Display

So I play a lot of games on my phone, whether it's an emulator, xCloud, Minecraft, or something else, I usually prefer to connect my device to my TV to more comfortably play. However recently I've been running into a bug on my OnePlus 9 Pro. (T-Mobile Version unfortunately). Here is where I'm at, every time I plug my phone into a TV, it freezes and crashes. Just like that. It worked for a while and then randomly stopped (I hadn't downloaded anything new or updated anything yet). I did download the newest firmware and still experienced the crash. I have switched the resolution, adjusted the frame rate, turned off Desktop Mode, and even did a factory reset. Still crashing at this point. Has anyone experienced this and figured out a cause or a fix? I am already on my second device from T-Mobile for this issue (exact same experience) so any help is appreciated.
