Been with OnePlus since Op6. Getting my Pixel 6 Pro tomorrow. After the reviews and some user comments I don't think I'm going back.
I am currently using a OnePlus 7T Pro McLaren and I am about to switch to the Pixel 6 Pro.
But I am in nor hurry - the 7T Pro is still working great and fast as hell - also the design is just fantastic.
But as I'Ve been using Pixel (and Nexus) phones before, I think I am going to switch back to TeamPixel once again...
I have a OP8 pro,and going to the P6 pro
Still waiting for my device
I have a OnePlus 8 Pro and Samsung Note20 Ultra. The OnePlus 8 Pro running Android 10 was the perfect balance of clean Android with added customizations. OxygenOS 11 feels like a buggy OneUI knockoff and the shift towards ColorOS strays even further from the smooth clean feel. I know one can unlock the bootloader and run an AOSP ROM on OnePlus devices, but the occasional broken features, root incompatible apps, bootloops when upgrading or installing certain modules, having Slot A/Slot B compatibility issues, etc are annoying. I've rooted and ROM'd phones since the original Droid and the hassles now often outweigh the benefits. I actually have enjoyed Samsung's endless customization options, and with using ADB to uninstall bloatware and custom theming, I've got 95% stock Android. That said, I'm looking forward to an even more fluid experience.
With the Pixel 6 Pro, we're getting the clean stock experience and the option to root, if necessary. In many ways, this will feel more like the true upgrade to the OnePlus 8 Pro. On paper, this is the phone tech enthusiasts have been waiting for but there are few quirks that have been mentioned. It's hard to get unbiased opinions from those given free review units. Unless it ships early, I've got a couple weeks before mine arrives so I'll be waiting to hear impressions from the XDA community. Enjoy your new phone and let us know what you think. Cheers
assuming my P6P ever gets here! (Darn Tmo ) I will be finally switching over from the OP6T. This phone has been giving me some issues for the past few months, and the battery has definitely seen better days. Still LOVE this OP6T though. Hopefully the P6P will live up to the hype!

I'm upgrading from 1+ 8 pro to the 6 pro and I'm getting excited.
I thought I was going to love 1+ and the 8 pro but I missed Google.
The 8 pro camera has been a disappointment, so I'm excited to get back to having a top of the line camera.
With the holidays and a vacation coming up, I'm definitely going to get tons of use out of the new camera.
The 8 pro, otherwise, has been good but not great.
This is the first google phone that I'm not getting unlocked directly from google.
I ordered direct from Verizon and should have it in the coming days.
I know the downside of getting a carrier phone, but the deal was too good to pass up through Verizon.
I have had a few Oneplus devices: Oneplus 1, 3T, 6T and 8 Pro. The update policy left more and more to be desired over time and the merger with Oppo and the expected ColorOS were clearly my reason to switch. What can I say? I have not regretted it yet. The Pixel 6 Pro is a solid device with absolute strength in camera features.

So, you feel like the 6 pro is a definite upgrade to the 1+ 8 pro?
I'm moving from OnePlus 8 pro to Pixel 6 pro ...
The OnePlus 8 pro is a very nice phone overall. My device is rooted and I'm running custom Magisk module to remove the OnePlus bloatware. Even with some extra config which allows apps that normally run on Pixel (e.g. Google's recorder).
I'm a great fan of dark (black) mode ... on my OnePlus 8 pro I have:
- black wallpaper
- substratum with Swift Black (turns almost all of the Google apps into full black)
- OnePlus settings "dark mode" -> this turns other apps (e.g. banking app, strava, ...) into a "dark greyish"
I like this very much since now everything on my phone is either black or darg grey.
Actually that's what I'm slightly concerned about on the Pixel 6 (without root) .. a mixture of black/dark and many other colours ...
Anyway ... we'll see ... Pixel 6 pro will arrive Friday morning so then I'll be able to check it out.
See attached shots.

I have had the Pixel 6 Pro since yesterday and cannot give a long-term review accordingly. But yes. My first impressions are absolutely positive. What I absolutely recommend is a more slip-resistant case. The glass back does not tend to grip. And the pure Android 12 is fun, well-designed and the Pixel6 features are useful extensions.
Was always Nexus/Pixel up to the Pixel 4XL, but then I wanted to give OP a try, and went with the 8 Pro. Good phone. I still have it, still like it, but it never quite lived up to the hype. The camera was the biggest disappointment. With the 6 Pro I'm looking forward to straight forward Android, and one of, if not the best, cameras. Now if Google would just hurry up and ship the friggin' thing. My cancel button went away yesterday, so I'm hoping to get a shipping notice today.
OP6T to GP6
Should be a good replacement.
I have had several OP devices in the past. The One was great, 3 and 3T were just as good as One, the 5 was fine till the drama with the last couple updates, 6T was fine and 8T has been a nightmare to support because of their inconsistent Full Global Package Releases on OP's Download site (they moved Global to Google Servers so the only way to get a full package is when OP releases it on their website). I will be moving to the Pixel 6 Pro and hopefully not looking back.
I'm also in the boat of having multiple Oneplus devices in the past. I currently have a Oneplus 9 Pro, but my Pixel 6 Pro is out for delivery today!
I have had a OnePlus since the 3T and will be moving to the Pixel 6 Pro. Currently using a OnePlus 8 running CRDroid. I have had the Galaxy Nexus and Nexus 6 in the past and want to get back to Google updates.
I'm coming from the OP6 and I switched because I wanted a better camera and a telephoto lens. So far I'm quite impressed.
Also, the USB port of my OP6 is completely busted and it takes a while to get a connection
What I don't like that much is the fingerprint reader of the Pixel, I have to aim better and I can't really use the sides of my fingers as it doesn't recognize them very well. That was easier with the OP6. Also, I might miss the headphone jack but I'm getting some free Bose headphones with the Pixel so that issue is probably solved soon
The OP6 is holding up really well with LineageOS 18.1 and GCam though, if the USB port was still fine I might have kept it a bit longer.
Ha, me too, OP6 -> P6P.
Is the OnePlus 8 Pro camera really that bad?
I'm coming from a Pixel 3 XL and am happy with my pictures.
Not sure how the OP8P camera compares with the P3XL camera?
Same here. I've had Oneplus since the 5T and am switching from a 7 Pro. I had the Galaxy Nexus and the Nexus 6 and loved those devices and the crazy development options. I hacked the hell out of those things. I won't rule out going back to Oneplus but I need to see how the Oppo/ColorOS reviews are and let that shake out. I was going to get either a 8 Pro or 9 Pro, or the Asus Rog phone 5 which looked super cool, but decided to get the Pixel 6 Pro. I hope I'm not disappointed and that also there will be decent development eventually.

Hi All!,
I am a current OnePlus 3t user, and it's a great phone. I was looking to get a new phone for 2 main reasons:
The space on the OnePlus I have is limitted to 64 Gb, I am running out.
With the new Snapdragon 835 out, I thought I'd look for a phone with that if I were to upgrade.
So I thought I'd check out the OnePlus 5, however the price of it put me off. Having done some research, I really like the look of the Xiaomi Mi 6. However there are a few things that are still making me reconsider:
The reviews I have seen have commented the software is buggy. It crashes and stops working at times. The software on the OnePlus 3T just works. I've not had any problems. If I get the Mi6, will it be a case of buying a buggy phone?
Also with the software, I've never used MiUi, and personally I like the simplicity and near stock Android on the OnePlus. How big of a change is the MiUi and is it customisable?
Does the Mi6 have the ability to capture RAW images?
Thanks in advance! :good:
I migrated quickly to Xiaomi.EU ROM when I purchased Mi6, although I didn't have any problem with (fake) supplied ROM.
I've used my mom's 3T for quite a bit, and the stock Android feel of OxygenOS and frequent and fast update from OnePlus is the big... plus.
MIUI, on the other hand, has very bad notification handling. It feels like you're using Android 4.2/4.4 something. You can't swipe left/right on the lockscreen notifications to make them go away, nor you can't expand it nicely like in pure android (You can do it on notification shade however, using 2 fingers, but the experience just sucks). I tried floatify to emulate the notification in stock android, but it's not enough.
MIUI for Mi6 hasn't provided RAW capture capability AFAIK.
OnePlus 5 has released their kernel source, so dev can easily start working custom ROM on that. But Xiaomi has been notorious keeping the kernel source for a long time (about 6 months+ on previous flagship), that makes the non-MIUI based ROM harder to develop.
I'm currently trying to get LineageOS installed on my Mi6, I'll post more on that LineageOS thread maybe tomorrow evening or the day after.
There is always some plus and minus. I’ve been using Xiaomi 5 Pro and I’m very happy {:m034:}
I used to have One+1 and One+3. Both were great phones.
With perfect Quality/Price factor. Even with EU prices:-/
Now I had been waiting for One+5 and all-around I’m very disappointed wit it.
Reason?
USB 2, No OIS, Software AND Price for EU!!!
It’s not the Flagship killer anymore, it starts to be exclusive peace of equipment.
My main decision point (quality/price factor) dropped down rapidly.
I really prefer MIUI in comparison to Cyanogen (1+1) or OxygenOS (1+3).
With weekly Globe-Roms upgrade (http://mi-globe.com) I’m really satisfied. Mi 5 works very smooth.
OK., it’s with open boot loader and rooted, but all my phoned have been same way in the past
(and will be in future )
I do not remember what I used in the first case, but in 1+3, I changed it to Resurrection Remix ROM.
I agree that all Oneplus society forum support is great. Same with software developers.
I hope that here in MIUI world it will be the same soon.
Especially that after all comparisons of my own, I decided to order Mi 6, 6/128 one.
))
Without any doubt the mi6, and specially if you can buy it at 369USD in some aliexpress offers.
I just Got the Mi 6 pro. Fresh in my hand. It looks great, and feels excellent. It's running very smooth at the moment but hey, is brand new.
I have my 3t on hand.
I think most of the comments are correct. One plus updates quick esp of your on the beta stream, it's smooth and you don't have to deal with MIUI overlay - the OnePlus launcher is excellent.
The Mi 6 is very emotional - what the 3T has and the 5 does not.
Practically, get the 5....you know what to expect. The Mi6 feels great though.....!
I have to edit this: having had the phone for a week - the Mi6 is the smoothest, fastest phone in town right now, period, including the S8 Plus. It's very slick indeed, very, very quick, had an excellent camera and great Sound.
It's very difficult to put the Mi6 down and pick up any of the other phones.

It's gone. That was the 28 June sale on a couple of sellers. I bought mine then, still waiting for it to be posted...
On the same boat. I have been reading about the touchscreen delay problems, bluetooth connectivity and some other bugs and i am hesitant to do the leap of faith on mi6.
One plus 5 on the other hand has such community and gets so many updates that you are sure that software problems will be fixed as soon as possible.

If you find bugs on MI 6,you can tell the developers of Xiaomi to fix them.
I got both the op5 and Mi6, the op5 has an real deal-breaker with the "jelly screen" design flaw. As for now there is no fix and oneplus says its "natural". So the Mi6 is an better choice for me.

i recon that bluetooth bugs have existed with the launch and they are yet to get a 'fix'.
Updates for global seem non existant but on the other hand thats what you get for the mi series. Xiaomi is pretty great for international devices, mainly speaking about the redmi series. Rest seem to be left untouched(Mi mix, note 2, mi5 s etc).
I am gonna hold myself from buying this yet.
Hello!
So my wife has the Note 4 but it is pretty old by now and feels laggy. Unfortunately every new phone has this aspect ratio we both hate 18:9 aside from the Huawei Mate 10 and the the Note FE. Finding the FE seems hard with US warranty and the Mate 10 does not have an OLED screen which she loves. So...as she finds the Note 8 way too long with that hotdog shape...I started thinking the 5t even though is the same aspect ratio, being smaller might be a good alternative. The Mate 10 Pro is also on my short list.
Still, I am leaning towards the 5T the more I read about it. What you guys feel about it after using it for a while? How is Oreo doing on it? Please note that the phone will be completely stock as unlike me, my wife does not want ANY modifications to the stock roms lol
Is battery life really good? From the reviews I read I like that the UI seems very fast and smooth.
Anyways, anything you want to share (and if you came from a Note 4 even better). She does not really use the s-pen so she is fine losing that feature.
Thanks!
I came from Note 4 to OP5T and I love it.

I am guessing the camera is better too?
I am reading a lot of complaints of the 5T camera being worst than the 5 and from samples, it seems like that indeed. I even started considering the Mate 10 Pro now because of that and also the Pixel 2 XL (but with so many burn in issues probably not).
Thanks!
I had different phones, the Xiaomi redmi note 4 lg g6, oneplus 5, s8, and the s8 plus. But I am going to buy to the Xiaomi redmi note 5 pro excellent price performance. The Samsung s8 is also very good if u don't want to flash roms. Easy to setup and system wide ad blocker and almost every month security updates and a very nice screen.
I said go for the s8 the new Samsung experience is very good and many times better than the old touchwiz and a very good battery live and performance.
Bros, what you guys thinking of buying 7T now? My main criteria is custom ROM development support but only OmniRom and AOSiP (alpha) is there now. Since four models are released in a very short period this year and the 7 Pro is the one with so many custom ROMs like about 15+. None of the other have even more than 3 (OP 7). I want to buy the new one very soon because my current device has fallen from a very height and many parts need to be replaced.
I'm surprised at the lack of development myself, but I assume it's because of how new Android 10 is and the whole issue with TWRP. Might be the same on other Android 10 devices. With that said, I'm pretty happy with rooted OxygenOS atm -- even if other ROMs were available, I'm not totally sure I'd switch over.
The price for a new 7T and pre-owned 7 Pro is the same here. The size and weight of 7 Pro is a bit larger that's why I'm thinking of 7T but lack of custom ROMs is pulling me away. My current Z2 has large development support that's why I can't think of anything without custom ROM support. Another option is to buy a new K20 Pro for a lower price. Or a pre-owned 6T (same price as the new K20 Pro).
Bros, decided to buy a pre-owned 7T 8GB 128GB for $400. Found out that it has almost everything I like and doesn't have something I hate. I hope the development support will pick up anytime soon ?
Just got my 7T!!! And it's an amazing device.. ??
Yeah, I just bought a used 7t. Really thought I would go for the 7 Pro, but having looked into it, I'm not sure why anyone would. The 7t has all of the best bits of the 7 Pro [emoji106][emoji3]

Yes bro, 7T has almost everything which I wanted and lacks only a very few things. Like it has a
+ non-popup camera so faster fact unlocking
+ 90Hz of course
+ stereo speakers
+ 3 cameras with a wider one and now with a super-macro mode
+ OIS
+ less weight compared to 7 Pro
+ 855+
and pretty much everything a flagship needs. The only thing I miss is the QHD display. I have a VR/AR device so I wanted to use it for watching movies like in a theatre. The QHD display has less pixelated view compared to fHD for this use. But compared to other specs it is not a deal.
Do you really willing to spend over $800 for oneplus?
Does anyone know how is the oneplus ui experience any ads, junk or great never use oxygen os ?
does one plus offer built in voice mail or just app?
us signal quality and updates?
Does anyone use oneplus before ?
I've switched from the Pixel 5 to the 9 Pro and forgot quite how much smaller the Pixel screen is to other flagships. The phone is tiny in comparison.
OP9P doesn't seem to have Visual Voicemail which my Pixel did have, but other functions like VoLTE and VoWiFi are working just fine.
I personally prefer oxygen os over everything else. I used several devices recently including pixel 5 and s20fe 5g and i ended up with the 9 Pro.

Visual voicemail works just fine here on T-Mobile
I've just come from a gp5 and got to say oxygenos is better for me no lag at all and more options I've stock
Oxygen OS keeps getting better for me on my OnePlus devices!
Oneplus 9 Pro versus pixel 5 is a pointless comparison in my opinion. Even the OnePlus 7 Pro is better than a pixel 5 in my opinion.
i personally prefer P5 because Color OS one OP9 sucks.
Doesn't have double tap power to quick start camera
And battery on pixel 5 last way longer than OP9

You've come to those conclusions very quickly, battery needs time but I do agree the Pixel 5 has a good battery.
Regarding the Double Click for camera? Have you got the phone and checked? Or just spouting crap?

He's talking about color os tbf, you're on oxygen aren't you?
Hi since its black Friday I'm considering buying a new oneplus phone eider an 9 or 9 pro, price does not really maters, but I don't like curved glass hence not sure about if the pro will suite me.
I would want to use it 5-7 years so a good community support is important to me.
I have seen that the op 9 seams not to be that popular not even a lineage os build for it.
What do you think?
How bad is the curved glass on the pro?
Am i right in the assumption that the pro has better long therm perspectives and support expectations?
Many people complains on op 9 pro, but I personally like it. Curved screen is comfortable to use, battery is ok after last updates and applying custom kernel. It's not the best phone one the market, but definitely worth considering.
It's not that OP that it was at the beginning. General feeling of the phone made by community is kind of lost. I remember when I bought 2 OP3 for me and my brother several years ago and I loved the community on their forum. Now I get a feeling community has not much to say about the development plans.
But still it is fine phone.
I am also surprised your OP3 lasted that long In both phones I bought I had speaker issues (I almost did not hear person I was talking to). Had to get them fixed.
My op 3 works well the only issue is that its on a replacement battery and the new I got was a dud so I worry that there are no more good OP3 batteries on the market.
Plus its really time for an upgrade but as said idk if 9 or 9 pro.
It seams to me the normal 9 is by far not as popular as the pro so for a long use the pro may be better, but than there is this anoying curved screen
9 Pro is the one.
Curved screen is not as big like in 8 pro. Of course i don't like curved screen too !
9, i don't know is it have xPan mode in camera from Hasselblad. I think this is a must.
People complain about Pixel 6 Pro, the same...
Like you say, money is no issue... 9 Pro.
Or you can wait few months for 10 Pro.
You have already shown the level of perseverance sticking with the Three... I suggest waiting for 10 Pro not that it won't have a curved screen, but the overall composition and cameras would be much better than any other previously launched OnePlus device.
Do remember that the 9 has a painted plastic frame while the 9 pro has an aluminium frame, since you're planning to use it for a long time.
I too was on the OP3 for 5 years until the screen became unstuck at one edge and then one day the phone suddenly died.
I think I'll go for the 9 pro now, waiting for the 10 is liek waiting for the 11 and so on there is always something better around the corner, and I'm not a great photographer anyways, lol
I came from my OnePlus 3t to the 9pro. I've never looked back
The 9 pro is nice but rumors are the 10 is the refined version, I love my 9 pro but the 10 is shaping to be the next 7 pro.
The 9 Pro now for the win! cheers
Like others said wait for the 10 pro, but don't buy it right away. It could be it has some bugs at first. Wait for the creation of a forum for the device and read a little on the pro and cons then decide.
I wish i did that on the 9 pro.

I hated curved display mainly because 99.9% of screen protectors are absolute ****. Finally found one that I love and is durable, not I have no complaints. I enjoy the snappiness and overall great performance of the pro
