Hi everyone, I forgot my mi account details and had to bypass my phone after it locked, had to downgrade to MIUI 12.0.3 and I unlocked the bootloader before, it's still unlocked.
Can I install a custom ROM without issues now?

So you want Miui or custom rom?
1/Miui:
-Chose line 2 and connect wifi then back chose line 1 to use password
-If you forget password, use forget and take new password by phone number or email idk.
2/Custom ROM:
-You can flash one with no issues if you do right.
Thank you so much, Its the custom ROM that I want to install. Lineage OS to be precise
Hi guys, I gave my engineer my Redmi note 8 pro to upgrade for me and after the upgrade, the phone locked mi account, I didn't have the log in details... He bypassed the mi account and said I shouldn't update, if I do, the mi account will lock again
The bootloader is unlocked, can I install Lineage os custom ROM without having account issues?

That lock only show up if you use Miui. Other custom roms that will not show up. Many device had that lock and they start to use custom roms.
Thank you

So I came back to the stock MIUI after several months due to lack of camera performance on custom ROMs. And way back the time, I've decided to DELETE my Mi Account considering that I am never going back to MIUI again. But boy oh boy, here we are.
I've flashed the stock firmware provided (links later), and I was surprised when I found out that this device was locked to an account. I've never had that problem when I switched to MIUI from LOS for about 10 days. Now that the account is now officially deleted, I have no way to activate my device even though I know my password. I've already done the following things:
1. Flashed stock ROM with different MIUI versions, and MIUI 7 and 8 are the only ROMs where activation appears
2. I've flashed the stock Philippine ROM (MIUI V5) and there are no problems with using it (I am currently using the phone for this thread)
3. I've signed-up for Mi Unlock but it was too late to know that all it does is to unlock the bootloader. AND MY BOOTLOADER IS UNLOCKED SINCE THE BEGINNING SO IT'S USELESS NOW.
4.
fastboot OEM lock
doesn't work when I try to relock the bootloader hoping that the Mi Unlock might do something extraordinary.
5. Enabled "Find My Device" on MIUI V5, hoping that the server would overwrite the existing data that's registered on my phone's serial and IMEI.
I only think of two reasons why my phone got locked:
1. The first fastboot ROM that I flashed has a locked bootloader even though it was a Global ROM
2. Still linked to my deleted account
What can I do? (except install another custom software)
Did you try flashing rom with mi flash?
I assume you have knowledge of using mi flash tool, rom images and fastboot.
Download rom images from mi website and flash with mi flash,
You might have 2-3 options at the bottom of the mi flash while you have selected the images in mi flash, 1- keep userdata and 2- wipe everything and 3rd one I don't remember.
I've don't this with my mi 4i and when I started device, it didn't ask for mi account.
Simply don't insert any SIM card and don't connect to WiFi.
I hope it might help.

If you came from china rom, you cannot simply flash global rom into it. You need unlocked bootloader first. Im afraid your device its bricked, you need to flash china rom back through edl mode and also need authorized account to do that.
Try install Chinnese Version
Greetings ALL.
1. I have a Redmi Note 8 Pro. Purchased 2019
2. Always been *GGEUXM (from * = P to now Q)
3. Immediately after purchase I used MiFlash, waited x days, and UNLOCKED my BOOTLOADER
4. Loaded TWRP - but it seemed to be always overwritten by Stock Recovery for some reason
5. Never ROOTED .... just UNLOCKED Bootloader
6 lnstalled up all my apps etc.
7 Numerous OTA updates - now on MIUI Global 12.5.2.0 Stable (RGGEUXM)
8 Recovery is STOCK XIAOMI
9 NEVER loaded any CUSTOM ROM.
Q: How can I RELOCK BOOTLOADER without losing data? Is it possible?
Q: What steps should I take to LOCK my BOOTLOADER ?
Thanks for reading, Bigger thanks for reply
Michael

-Why you need to relock? Relock you cant fix anything yourself, your warranty go away already.
-Twrp overwritten by stock you can fix by in TWRP press Reboot>Recovery and after reboot in TWRP again it wont be overwritten.
-Or you can just use this custom twrp: MOD EDIT: Link Removed. Just go in fastboot and run File 1.FlashBRPMiuiA11Unified.bat and it auto install and boot to twrp. This custom make by Redmi note 8 Pro Offical Telegram admin (Santosh)
-Never use lock but i think you can lose all data
-Flash the rom for region you buy. China phone use china rom, India phone use india rom,... and use Mi Flash Tool chose Clean and lock (I just hear about this, better youtube for instruction, this one can brick your phone if do wrong)
Thanks for replies.
I want to RE LOCK BOOTLOADER to go back to STANDARD setup. No custom ROM. I just want Google Pay and Netflix to work. As I said, I have unlocked bootloader and have never rooted.
Hello all,
As a consequence of a recent OTA update to MIUI 12.5.2, Google Play and Google apps ceased to work on my Redmi Note 8 Pro (begonia) CN version. In order to have them back again, I am considering switching to a stock ROM for the global version of the RN8Pro.
Does this sound like a reasonable plan?
Are there hardware differences between the CN version and the global version of the RN8Pro?
Can I go ahead and flash a global version ROM over a CN version ROM?
Would this allow me to install Google Play and Google apps on the RN8Pro?
Thanks!
You can. You are not asking for impossible. But it will cost you your data as your phone will be wiped in the process.
The procedure is Unlock bootloader -> Flash Global/EEA/Indonesia/Xiaomi.eu ROM (but the guys at xiaomi.eu stopped the development of the ROM long ago, so only ancient version of MIUI is available) OR even a custom ROM (wichever you like). You will find the corresponding tutorial in this device's forum.
@kekesed97: Thanks!
After a one-week wait (Xiaomi imposes this waiting period for bootloader unlocking), I was able to unlock the bootloader and flash a stock global ROM to my RN8Pro. Everything went fine. The phone was working perfectly, with its bootloader still unlocked.
Then I fell into a trap.
After reading about things that would not work on a phone with unlocked bootloader (Google Pay, banking apps, etc.), I decided to relock the bootloader of my RN8Pro. Did that by running "fastboot oem lock" on a PC connected to the phone.
Relocking the bootloader kind of bricked the phone. The RN8Pro is now stuck in the menu for "MIUI Recovery 5.0", with the following message at the bottom of the screen:
"This MIUI version can't be installed on this device"
Is there a way out of this trap?

Some GooglePay and banking apps can be used after pass safetynet by doing something with Magisk. And you should read something about lock bootloader before doing that. China phone only can be locked with China Miui roms, by chose clean and lock on Miflashtool (best way to prevent brick). So if you want to do that, better downgrade to Miui 12.0.x to use Google apps and no more updates. And if anything else you want to be helped, join group on Telegram and get help.

Thanks, @Kirasu2080. Now I see that I should have flashed a MIUI 12.0.x China version ROM, rather than a global ROM.
But I still don't see how to fix things... Since phone is stuck in recovery with its bootloader locked, it appears as there is no way for me to downgrade now.

Use free unbrick hardbrick method for this. You can search Youtube videos, some solve problems, some not work, some make you lose Imei. That's why i told you join Telegram group for direct chat.
I have the global vesrsion of the Redmi note 8 pro. I want to flash the Euro version on it without unlocking the bootloader. Is this possible with the MiFlash tool?

You need to do the "EDL mode or Test point".
Lock xiaomi devices can be unbricked using that method.
Flash firmware using EDL or Test point mode. Please search in youtube.
Hello I want to ask how to bypass miaccount on the phone Redmi note 8 pro (Begonia) my bootloadet is unlocked I have root via magisk so far I use costom rom RevengeOS everything works as it should but I would still like an official miui from xiaomi. I think I have to go if I have root and an unlocked bootloader and I still can't. only one thing managed to format the miaccount data via the SPFLASH tool and thus the system will boot but the card will be inserted or inserted. I will just add that I also have TWRP and MIUI 12.5 installed, of course, if necessary, MIUI can downgrade to create. Thank you for every insight and advice ....
PS. I'm sorry for the English I'm doing this via google translator.

If you have phone number or password, use it for unlock.
If you have bill, go to service center and get help.
If you don't have phone number, password or bill, that mean you stole it or buy stolen one somewhere then it's illegal.
