Hello. In a need of help with flashing GSI on my Sony Xperia XZ f8331. Every GSI image gets me a bootloop, in forms of phone stuck on splash logo or self reboot or self reboot to fastboot. Bootloader is unlocked, zip roms works ok. Tried to flash treble allowed rom before, or lineage and still bootloops. Permissiver zip doesnt work, disable verity doesnt work also. Phone has no vbmeta, so I am not able to flash it. Tried a lot of different gsi images, nothing worked. I am able to boot into twrp. Also, the ro.treble.enabled is true when booted to system, but in recovery it is false. Using Treblized A10 rom.

Hey guys, I've noticed a lot of GSI's popping up for treble devices, I've never worked with these and want to make sure I'm flashing correctly. Last night I attempted to flash a GSI from aquriOS and kept getting thrown back into twrp, my flashing process was as follows:
(Coming from DU weeklies)
Reboot into TWRP, factory reset, flash GSI image, flash open gapps, reboot system. This is where I got stuck in the recovery boot loop. Not sure if it's the GSI not booting or a problem on my end.
Update?

I'm shocked that there's not a single reply on this thread.
Have you found the proper instructions?
My device forum doesn't have instructions how to do it, i've posted asking there but better to ask here also. I found this post for the Mi A2 that isn't my device mines the Mi A3 https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-a2/how-to/guide-discussion-aio-gsi-thread-mi-a2-t3933356
The device is A/B arm64 has slots a and b i dunno how that effects flashing here, flashing custom roms will install into the inactive slot then you gotta change your active slot to be the the slot it installed into, then install rest of files there, does this apply with gsi .img files also?
When i tried using flashing the .img file i used orangefox recovery wiped all partitions flashed to system, just says no os installed i will probably try doing that again and flashing DM-Verity & Forceencrypt Disabler and permissiver_v2.zip however who noes if that will help.
If someone can list the correct steps to flash using both fastboot method and twrp/orangefox recovery methods i would appreciate it. If it matters i was trying to flash android 10 gsi. I've seen many different methods listed depending on the device, so i guess that makes it harder to work out.
Thanks.
I've flashed it twice via TWRP with flashing DM-Verity & Forceencrypt Disabler and permissiver_v2.zip. Plus TWRP.
1st time it was into A slot. After 1st flashing I've restarted TWRP and booted into B slot. And then flashed slot B.
After rebooting and seeing Logo in 15 minutes - I've got Android.10

Thanks for the feedback, are you able to tell me the exact steps? like lets just say twrp is already installed and you factory reset, cleared all data.
Do you flash DM-Verity before you flash the rom? or after you flash the rom and what you just flash Forceencrypt Disabler and permissiver_v2.zip after installing the rom?
What i see with regular roms not gsi when you flash the rom if your on slot a it's actually installing it into slot b when you reboot that's where it is so you need to restart before flashing Magisk and other stuff. So i assume with the gsi maybe you need to reboot after installing as system image before flashing the other files?

Your better of using fastboot if flashing a gsi .img you dont need twrp really unless the rom is in a .zip format, or your wanting to add extras like magisk and such, or take a backup
Android 11
Did anyone tried Android 11 gsi??
I was flashing PHH's AOSP GSI ROM (version 208, AB, GAPPS included) to my RN8P. This is a supported ROM and should theoretically work. I did this without TWRP and wiped data using ADB. It is important to note that at this point I decided that it probably should have TWRP anyway and flashed that before flashing my ROM using
Code:
fastboot flash system (name of rom).img
I then rebooted to find my phone in a bootloop. I am letting the power drain at the moment but I have no idea what to do when I power it on again.
Hi! I have a moto z2 play with the Pie stock rom flashed. Bootloader is unlocked but when I try to flash TWRP (used twrp_albus_treble_3.2.2_r23_64) via fastboot after the first system reboot it is always overwritten by default recovery. I tried to boot first to bootloader and than to TWRP, also tried booting the TWRP image and installing TWRP from phone storage, nothing works after system reboot it is always replaced by stock recovery. What am I doing wrong?
I also tried to install Magisk but it wont install, tried flashing through TWRP and also by patching the boot.img than flashing that.
Could use your input!
Thanks!

Did you find a working solution?
I need some help with flashing a GSI Image on BV9500 pro. I managed to flash it one time, and then due a nandroid restore, I had to flash the stock rom.
Now, whenever I try to reflash the LineageOs 17 GSI image or the AOSP, the phone is always stuck at the Blackview logo. I tried everything, wiping the partitons before flashing, using the decrypt, OEM and bootloader unlocked. Nothing works.
Fixing the contents doesn't do anything either.
I have TWRP installed and can access it without any problems.
Any ideas or suggestions?

I'm using the same phone and most of the gsi roms doesn't boot up.. I only had success with resurrection remix and havoc os but they were too buggy. I think we can't set selinux to permissive that's the huge problem with this phone...
