Question Lost all contacts. Backups not working. - Xiaomi Poco F3 / Xiaomi Mi 11X / Redmi K40

I took a backup of all my contacts using Backup and Restore on my old Redmi Note 6 Pro and wanted to recover on Mi 11X. But this phone does not have the default MIUI contacts and dialer app. I suspect this is why I'm not able to recover my contacts. Google's dialer and contacts app sucks. Is it possible to recover my contacts and messages? Pls don't suggest flashing

I transferred everything with Swift Backup.
If you only care about contacts MyPhoneExplore is also great.

Hi, have you tried to export them using the appropriate option on the settings of the contacts app?
If there is the export option it should create a file .vcf which you can move to the new phone and using the import option on the Google contacts app, it should work.
Otherwise you can save them from the old phone to the Google account and restore them from there

for contact, you should export the contact to .vcf file and import it to mi11x contact apps, or just backup using google account

Backing up texts and contacts..

Does anyone know how to backup texts and contacts? So whenever I flash new firmware I can get them back?
Thanks in advance.
There is an app called sms backup & restore in the market. I use that.
And not sure about contacts because I just automatically download them from my gmail account when setting up the phone.

I use MyBackup Pro v2.3.4 (available from Marketplace) as it allows you to backup apk's/apk's and their data, and also things like Contacts, Calendar events, Bookmarks, SMS, alarm, etc. To use it, you will need root access.
Actually, you see, the problem is that I cannot download ANY apps from the marketplace. It stalls and keeps displaying the message "Starting download..". Hence why I am trying to back everything up and reinstall the ROM.
In settings, there is a backup option that saves all contact / texts onto the SD Card. anyone know where that file is located? I'll ever be grateful if someone can post this information. thanks.
EDIT: The option is in Settings > Privacy > Backup settings.

[Q] Very good Contacts Backup App

Can someone recommend a good app to backup my contacts. I have Titanium Backup Pro as well as MyBackup Pro, but I'm not sure how to restore contacts with TB and when I restored with MyBackup Pro, you have to add your google account, and the backup created duplicate contacts of every person in my phone.
I have my google contacts which are in google and my FB contacts which don't restore when I sync my phone to google after a ROM flash. I want to be able to backup all my contacts as they are and restore them after a ROM flash. Thanks.

Importing contacts from GB to ICS

Hello so I'm running into a bit of an issue. I recently upgraded from Juggs 5.0 GB to Darkside Evolution ICS
I have flashed for quite some time and haven't had any major issues.
Today I noticed my google contacts were not fully synced. (I found out when I went to text someone and noticed their number wasn't in my phone anymore)
I did a titanium backup and an nand backup is there anyway to extract the contacts or sms/mms from the backups?
I looked it up and there doesn't seem to be an actual answer everyone just replies 'sync with google'
any help would be appreciated I really don't want to have to restore back to jugs exports my contacts to a vcf or whatever it is it saves contacts as and then re-flash it back
Restore your nandroid backup and then delete your contacts from your Google account .before doing so, copy all your contacts to your SIM card or SD card. Flash the ICS from again and add your contacts from the SIM or SD and Google should back them up correctly

Why not just go to a computer and input your contacts directly to your gmail account. That way you won't have to worry about going back an forth on a SIM or any other storage device.

Lost phone contacts after install cm13 android 6

Hello
i LOST PHONE CONTACTS AFTER INSTALL CM13 ANDROID 6. I made a backup but i cant find any contacts from phone. I can get only google accounts contacts. For the past 2 years every contact was saved on phone d855 not on sim card or gacount. Is there any way to find them? tried also with some software like easyus etc but it only shows contacts that i already have (google account).
Hi,
The only way will be to restore the backup.

Restoring backup from SD card

Hi
I just flashed my g4 for the first time.
Backed up some data on my SD card beforehand (email account settings, calendar and contacts)..
But now when i try to restore from a backup the only option im offered is the LG cloud (which I never used before)
Is there another way to recover those settings?
I managed to import contacts manually from the contacts app but i cant find a similar option from the email or calendar apps...
Thanks
Fabien
