[GUIDE] Activate Genuine Huawei Call Recording - P20/P20Pro- root

Hi. I don't have P20 nor P20P but I have M10P. I used the same procedure as for M10P + using the apk from P20.

Hi there, so I purchased the p20 last night and will be receiving this phone (Location: Canada). I tried clicking on the link but it says 404 error. I have never done rooting before and am a little hesitant, since it will void the warranty. Also, I heard that Android 9 is supposed to block call recording - has anyone experienced this issue using the genuine call recorder? Thank you very much

Followed the instructions using the zip-file in this thread I'm currently writing.
After reboot, opening the phone app and clicking on settings, the phone app closes itself and mobile network is shut down. No more calls or any mobile network acitivity possible. In the system settings SIM1 is not available and so cannot be reactivated. Tried several times reassigning the permissions properly.
Only deleting the HwCallRecorder and reboot solves the issues and everything is working as before.
So, right now not working for me.

THanks Mini. I can access the link. So I take it that the recorder doesn't work for your phone? - is it the p20.

IT IS WORKING FINE on a EML-L29C432B164patch01.
I'll check for the most updated version and will make a magisk module.

Sorry to ask but does this work on android 9 p20. The reason I ask is that I believe there is a system update this month to upgrade emui 8.1 to 9.0. Also I have an eml-l09 build. Thanks

No. You need acces to root and you cannot do this on Pie.

Thanks Badmania. So I guess there isn't a good workaround to get call recording set up for android 9?

XprivacyLua on OnePlus 7T

Hello everyone.
Did someone succeed to get XprivacyLua running on this device ?
Just got the OP7T from HongKong (HD65BA Europe). I have to use Chinese apps and I they ask full access to my phone. I don't like this.
I tried some guides here and so far didn't succeed to boot with edExposed running.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'm trying Appops and it seems to work well.
Update :
Successfully installed Xposed.
I'm also trying Protect My Privacy (PMP) Xposed module, but it seems to be unstable.
I'm still interested in any other suggestion to protect my privacy in China

On my side, I got Xprivacylua 1.25 working with edXposed v0.4.6.0_beta (4471 YAHFA) on Magisk 20.1.
Didn't try with Taichi.

I didn't try to update anything since everything is working fine for me. BTW Is there a reason why I should ?

Nah, ignore if things are fine.
But 1.27 or 1.26 is the one released with official support for Android 10. I tried initially when i bought the phone 4 months back but i got into bootloop with these versions(same Edxposed version as yours). I never tried with 1.25.
Changelog for 1.26 which was released in Nov 2019,

solved this problem. It turns out the H2o not work in US, upgraded to the 10.0.7 OOS. All those can be installed.

H20 is Chinese firmware I believe that's probably why

H2OS 11 public beta 1 out.

Oneplus has delivered the first public beta of H2OS 11, which means that OOS 11 should be arriving soon. Root works with latest magisk beta

You can get it in english yes that's is what I'm running on. For the Verizon I don't know because don't live in the United States.

Sorry to bug ya. I just an wondering how this will work... I'm about to get rid of this phone, due to the WiFi calling not working. I don't get signal in my house... My big question now, do I have to use magisk? And how?

You don't have to use magisk unless you want to have root, you can always just leave the phone unrooted unless you want some mod install and some app that needs root privilege. But it's not a necessity to root.

Also this is H2OS which is meant for the Chinese market so some things might not be there for the global market, for me it works fine since I don't live in the USA I live in Central America, it's also a beta build and the first one, so I would suggest that if you can't wait flash it if you desire to try it out of not just wait for the OOs beta that will most likely come soon. For me everything seems to work but there are some small bugs and some features are not present. Like AOD is not available, bubble chats for Telegram is not working only for fb messenger. Canvas is working just fine and so far o haven been able to see horizon lights work even tho the option is there (finally got it to work but still a bit buggy). So flash and try it out of you wish or wait for the OOs beta.

I've been scouring XDA, google, oneplus forums, and oxygen updater.
I'm not seeing an update anywhere. Oxygen Updater says i'm up to date (i'm not)

I grabbed EU one from Oxygen Updater, Indian one is on there too, looks like it's just NA missing

Thats why i switched from tmobile rom to EU.

I'm on an LE2125... factory unlocked. What the heck.

OnePlus / Google will release the full zip if and when they feel like it for AA, and there is a very high chance you won't get it. If you want a full zip always available go with BA or DA.

Well, if you want up-to-date full zips, go with BA. Otherwise, make the preparations needed for incremental OTA.

DA has been working phenomenally for me. I'm in the US.

I have been using the EU firmware.
It works flawless on Verizon.

I got this update this am and it says unable to download

I was running into the same issue. I resolved it by downloading the AA incremental posted on the guide thread and moving it into the root and manually updating. Otherwise I was getting errors. How bizarre.
