I have a rooted Incredible and I have some issues with it right now, i tried to restore the backup i created and i get an error, i have wipped everything from the phone and i cant get it to reset to factory. Any ways to help out with this?
What issues are you having? If all you did was root the phone and that was all, i highly doubt that the issues are because of root.
i attempted to install vanilla skyraider, i backed up the orginal skyraider and now when i tried to restore the skyraider backup i get a error
Please help me, I have messed up my phone pretty bad. You don't have a functioning backup? Then I would try wiping everything (wipe data/factory reset, cache and dalvik cache), re-downloading and flashing the ROM (any of your choice), the file might have been corrupted some how. Good luck
I had a backup and when i went to restore it through clorkworkmod recovery it doesnt work and i dont understand why,
After installing a couple of Apps on my One X, the Screen began to freeze. Because I wanted to reboot it, but it was always the same.
I opened CWM and wanted recover my phone, but after that it didn't boot anymore, i just saw the bootscreen, but nothing else.
I hope someone can help me.
Wipe? Reflash your ROM? Reading Disaster Recovery Thread?
I had Android 4.1.1 installed on a rooted Sprint Galaxy S3 with ClockworkMod. Someone recommended TWRP, so I installed it and used the backup feature, thinking I was completely covered if my foray into ROM flashing on the SGS3 went awry.
So I booted to TWRP, did a "Wipe Data/Factory Reset", and installed the "Blazer" ROM; didn't like it. So I TWRP'ed again, wiped it and flashed CyanogenMod 10.1. Didn't like it either. So I went back into TWRP, did the "Wipe Data/Factory Reset" again, and restored my backup.
When it finished rebooting, it was good for like 20 seconds. I left it on the "lock" screen, and the date reverted back to Dec 24th at some ungodly hour (4 am?). It wouldn't unlock. After less than a minute, it reboots. It kept doing this.
I had a hard time getting back *into* TWRP. I kept getting this weird picture of the battery (?) and the phone kept buzzing every 10 seconds or so. The battery had at least 30% charge. Eventually, by taking the battery out, I was able to get back into TWRP.
Tried it again 2 or 3 more times with the same result. This last time, I immediately got off the lock screen and let it "sit". It has been stable for 10 hours now.
Any idea what's going on?
(If I'm leaving out important information, I apologize. Please let me know and I'll add it.)
Something wrong happened in the restore process. Just make sure that you have at least 80% battery next time.

Thanks.
If I keep restoring it over and over again, is there a chance it will "take" one of these times?
Ok so, check the size of your backups and make sure that they are consistent (for the same ROM types)
I've seen an issue where someones recovery got corrupted, and all restores made with the corrupted recovery were unnaturally small and would bootloop once done restoring
Reflashing your recovery (i recommend through ODIN from a PC) should fix it if this is the issue
Hello!
I purchased the tablet (SM-P600 WiFi model) a few months back. I rooted when I bought and it was working without any problems, but today I tried to install this "boot animation", and it put my device into a soft brick. When I try to boot the device, first the initial Samsung logo shows up, then it's just blank screen without any sound and after a while (by the time device would normall boot), it justs restarts again and repeats the same thing again. I am able to access recovery (TWRP, installed it and made first backup 2 days ago) and download mode as well.
I've tried to recover backup I made 2 days ago (fully working) but it doesn't fix anything. The bootloop continues.
To clarify some things, I'm running on 4.3 (MJ6) stock, flashed SELinux Permissive kernel yesterday, but it was working fine until now.
This is the actual boot "animation": https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=eu.chainfire.livelogcat
I installed, and after trying to reboot, the bootloop problems started
I hope you can help me Thank you in advance.
After some fiddling around, finally downloading stock firmware (slow wifi here) from sammobile.com and flashing it with ODIN, I've recovered from the bootloop. I am still interested though in why it happened in the first place. Can anyone please provide me with some insight ?
Thank you anyway
After trying to restore backup from 2 days ago (which was working perfectly fine), there again is no boot animation after initial boot logo, no sound, but if I press power key and any of the capacitive touch buttons, home key, etc., the tablet vibrates but nothing appears on the screen. It's getting kind of weird.
EDIT:
I just tried flashing stock firmware again, and after only restoring /data/, things like home button, capacitive buttons, Settings button in Quick Settings/Notification etc. don't work. Can anyone help me with restoring the data I had from that working backup?
Titanium Backup can extract apps and data from TWRP/CWM backups. It's kind of a slow process, but it works.

I actually tried that, I have PRO version of Titanium Backup, but it only found a SINGLE app from the whole working backup (About 7GB). I also tried Nandroid Backup Explorer which only found one app (with data) as well, most of the others (some were even totally missing) had no data at all. After manually examining the backup, there actually was only 1 app data folder in /data/data/. No WiFI settings or anything else either.
So I have the tablet restored with most of the apps. But every single one of them (except one that doesn't even hold any permanent data that I know of) has lost their data. I have since flashed CWM because it always worked for me.
At least you're up and running again. I tried this logcat app (over a year ago) on my N10 and my N7, both got a bootloop as well.

Please excuse my stupidity, just realized G3 is not unibody, did a battery pull.
First, I followed the instruction to root my G3.
Then I was trying to make a stock backup in TMRP. After an hour now, it is still trying to backup SYSTEM. I did enable compression, but it shouldn't take this long... TMRP is responsive, I can lock and unlock the screen.
How can I force reboot the phone? ADB says "device not found", and long press power bottom does nothing. I also tried power+vol up, power+vol down, and all three, nothing reboots the phone.
Please help:crying:
Glad you figured it out, I had the same problem the first time I backed up on this phone too. Ended up pulling battery. But I haven't had that problem since.
Made several backups with TWRP and didn't an issue.
Not much use for backups yet, I hope development will pick up soon.
