Question Picture quality using an AOSP Rom - OnePlus 9 Pro

Hi all,
I'm thinking about flashing LineageOS on my OnePlus 9 Pro (LE2120). A couple of days ago I read that the cooperation with Hasselblad for the camera contains 'only' the software- optimation. A hardware- optimation in cooperation with Hasselblad should come along with the future models.
So I suppose the software- optimation relates to the camera app of the Stock Rom and will be missing on an AOSP Rom. Do I guess right ? is there an App which works with the OnePlus 9 Pro camera in the same quality as the Stock Rom camera does ?
Thanks in advance.

No one has fully successfully ported Oneplus' camera software so it can be used with ROMs. People are working on it though. Some people report decent performance using Gcam although not quite as good as stock. I too am waiting for someone to figure out how to port oneplus' camera software. Last I read, CrDroid is working on it.

OxygenOS Camera Vs ......

Hello friends, I really like the stock camera and that's why I do not detach from the beta versions to another ROM (Although I really like RR), for the camera, I like, but ... read it that the google camera gives better results than the stock, if we consider it a post of "VS" which camera do you prefer? (I do not mean other devices, I mean the app).
Thank you for your time and have a great end of the year and a happy new year
it's pretty well documented that the OxygenOS camera on the OxygenOS ROM is the best performing camera on the OnePlus 3 due to the closed-source optimizations that OnePlus has done for this device.

I'm about to buy this device - is it fully compatible with AOSP roms?

Hello. This might sound like a silly question, but does the device work well when changing ROMs, for example from the default MIUI ones to AOSP?
I'm asking because I've had an LG phone for a very long time, and for example, when it ran AOSP, the camera quality was terrible compared to stock LG roms because LG didn't release the drivers... The sound works differently too, with AOSP the quality is lower.
So does something like this happen with this phone? Anything else I should be aware of while buying this device? I tend to keep my phones for a very long time so I'd like it to be future proof.
Is it possible to flash unofficial MIUI releases, like 3 years from now when Xiaomi doesn't support it anymore? Or is AOSP the only option by then?
Thanks in advance.
Yes Xiaomi Officially Releases its kernel sources for developer.......so custom/Aosp Rom support is great....and you can use miui camera on aosp rom....so camera quality is also great on aosp rom....but i am not satisfied with the gpu performance of redmi note 5(you can get better performance with Old Mi5 or New Mi A2/6x and mi8se).....if you can increase budget go for poco phone f1......But about your query ASOP rom Has Same/Better support in as MiUi rom in every aspect on all mentioned Xiaomi phone along with note 5.....and Xiaomi provide official miui 10 support to old device like remi note 3 so you can trust.
You can flash modded stock roms like Miuipro, Masik, Miui.eu, etc...
Algo You can check the development section for AOSP based roms
The phone in general is great the best gamma media for me so far
But keep in mind that it takes 30 days to unlock the bootloader. So, you'll be stuck with the stock Rom for a month.

stock camera vs custom ROM camera

Hello friends,
I am very much concerned about camera quality.
I have my oneplus 3t in which I feel the ported GCAM is not better than stock oneplus camera in all lighting conditions.
But I want to know from you guys who use custom ROM in google pixel devices that
what camera is included in the custom ROM of Google Pixel 2 XL because for other OEMs, ported GCAM is available but here the device is itself made by google, and how is the camera quality as compared to the stock camera.
Please answer, so that I can take decision while buying a next pixel phone on the basis of xda community.
You get stock camera even in custom roms. I am AOSiP rom now and I am using stock apps. So basically you get everything thats stock with some customizations you can make.

Planning to Buy OnePlus 5t in 2019?

Hello guys
Sorry for the long question.
I am very confused these days, i sold Redmi Note 7 some days ago but now i don't understand that what device is perfect for me in my low budget. I have some devices in my mind:
1. Pocophone F1
2. Realme 3 Pro
3. OnePlus 5T
What i need:
I really like to install different roms on my deivce, occasionally gaming and most of the time watching movies etc.
Why i am not able to decide ?
1. Pocophone F1
Big notch taking over 70% of status bar. Heard / saw different threads claiming that the devices has touch screen / hardware issues.
2. Realme 3 Pro
Realme 5 Pro also available around the world but not in Pakistan. In Pakistan only option so far is Realme 3 Pro. Overall phone seems to be a good deal. But there is no Android development.
3. OnePlus 5T
This device is my most favorite device. Do you guys recommend me to buy 5T in 2019? and i also want to now, that is there any common hardware related issues to check for before buying?
Looking for response from you guys.
Plenty of ROM support and easy methodology to tamper, if you aren't a fan of OOS which is quite good anyway. Updates are still being released quite frequently through the beta.
Bought mine on release, coming up on 2 years ago now. Only complaints I have hardware wise:
-charging port can be finicky, but I need to clean it.
-camera is very average (but GCam mod with root + camera library dot fix performs very well)
I don't see myself getting a different phone for at LEAST another year and a bit. Take of that what you will.
I bought oneplus 5t 2 weeks a ago and i would say buy the damn phone you won't regret it, previously i was using samsung a50 but was not satisfied with the performance, oneplus 5t is blazing fast, go for it
Good phone but two things that suck
Vibration motor is horrible. It's so weak that I can't even hear it most of the time
Camera quality out of the box is just average
This two things didn't seem to be important to me in the past but you do notice the difference after using the phone for 2 years
In my opinion 5T is still beast but official beta support had dropped
Not that much custom ROMs available (many maintainers and developers switched to op6 or higher models)
Better try to buy op6or6T
Although open beta has been stripped for the 5t I'm still more than happy with my 5t. I even prefer OOS over the custom ROMs because it's really fast, stable and the gesture control kicks ass and is way better than that Google thing. Plus have in mind that OP already confirmed Android q. It may take a while but for now OP is still going strong with security patches. As long the battery is fine so am I.
Dear all,
I have removed some off topic posts from this thread. Please post with manners and contribute to the discussion. Thanks.

The Pocophone has larger battery and an IR scanner which is amazing for face recognition. But the screen is not good as 5T's.
Oxygen OS is probably the best out there. It is light and so fast and allows so many customizations. I bet you won't be bothered with custom ROMs!
Snapdragons 835 and 845 don't differ much either.
I'd go for the 5T if I found both at similar price.

october 2020 patch OTA

Hello,
I am trying to stick with OTA updates with this device. Has anyone in the UK received the update? Previous updates have been quick to come through, but there is no sign of this one.
Also, for the European version (non snapdragon), are there camera improvements with this update?
I have an unlocked Note 10+ 5G (N976B) in the UK and got the update this morning. No real big changes. Just a security update and performance/stability improvements.
Yep, got it. No mention of camera improvements like the snapdragon variant
I use the GCam port the majority of the time so not too bothered about the camera. I'm not that impressed with the picture quality from stock camera in any case. The difference between the Snapdragon and Exynos variants is a discussion in itself. If the stock camera had a bit more customisation over image compression and produced outputs similar to GCam I would gladly use it. I'm aware there is the zero cam mod but like you, I want to stay stock and get OTA updates. I'm very familiar with rooting having had Pixel and OnePlus phones in the past. Samsung provides quite a bit of customisation now so root is not really needed to do some things the majority of the time.
I've been feeling that the battery has immensely improved on the latest OTA update (Oct patch) - Exynos model.

I am using ZGCam 7.4. I don't think I am allowed to link telegram groups but you can find the group if you do a search on telegram. The group is called "ZExynos Lounge ZGCam 7.4". There is a group for the ZGCam 6.1 port also.
